Corps de Garde (translation: Guardhouse) is a 720-metre-high mountain of volcanic origin, in the area Palma in the Black River district of Mauritius. The name derived from the fact that a French military post was once established on its slope to control the bands of runaway slaves. This basaltic rock formation has an imposing appearance which is characterized by an abruptly breakup of the slope towards the sea. It is resembling a figure of a guard with its beret sleeping on his abdomen and looking forward. It is also famous for a nature reserve of about 90.33 ha with a very rare flora such as Trochetia parviflora which was rediscovered on a mountain slope in 2001, Pilea trilobata which was rediscovered in 2005 and the Mandrinette. The town is administered by the Municipal Council of Vacoas-Phoenix. The town lies between Quatre Bornes and Curepipe.

Quatre Bornes State Secondary School (QBSSS) is a government-operated secondary school in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius. The school opened on the grounds of the Sodnac SSS in 2005. It moved to Belle Rose SSS and then to the former Strattford College facility in 2009. The permanent school building opened in 2010.

Plaines Wilhems (Mauritian Creole pronunciation: [plɛn wilɛmz]) is a district of Mauritius. It is the most populous district, with an estimated population of 366,506 at the end of 2018. The district is mainly urban; it consists of four towns, the village of Midlands and part of two other villages. The Plaines Wilhems district does not have a District Council; it has four Municipal Town Councils. The towns are Beau-Bassin Rose-Hill, Curepipe, Quatre Bornes and Vacoas-Phoenix. Stade Germain Comarmond is a multi-use stadium in Bambous, Rivière Noire District, Mauritius. It is currently used mostly for football matches and athletics events. The stadium was built in 2001 and opened in August 2003. The venue hosted the 2006 African Championships in Athletics. It is currently the home stadium of the Mauritius national under-17 football team, Mauritius national under-20 football team, Petite Rivière Noire SC and Bambous Etoile de L'Ouest Sports Club.

New Eton College (NEC) was founded in 1932 and is a private secondary school in Rose Hill, Mauritius.It provides education to the boys of Rose Hill and surrounding region. Some students of New Eton College have been "Laureates" at the end of their Higher School Certificate (Mauritius) examinations. During the 1975 Mauritian student protests riot police arrested a number of students of New Eton College.
