The Municipal Council of Quatre Bornes (French: Conseil Municipal de Quatre Bornes) is the local authority responsible for the administration of the town of Quatre Bornes, Plaines Wilhems District, Mauritius.In 2015, three former councilors were convicted of conflict of interest.

Quatre Bornes State Secondary School (QBSSS) is a government-operated secondary school in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius. The school opened on the grounds of the Sodnac SSS in 2005. It moved to Belle Rose SSS and then to the former Strattford College facility in 2009. The permanent school building opened in 2010.

The Collège du Saint Esprit is a private catholic secondary school in Mauritius. It is one of the most prestigious and competitive secondary education institutions in the country. New Eton College (NEC) was founded in 1932 and is a private secondary school in Rose Hill, Mauritius.It provides education to the boys of Rose Hill and surrounding region. Some students of New Eton College have been "Laureates" at the end of their Higher School Certificate (Mauritius) examinations. During the 1975 Mauritian student protests riot police arrested a number of students of New Eton College.

Sir Abdool Raman Osman State College, abbreviated as SARO SC or simply SARO, is a public secondary school for boys and girls in Phoenix, Mauritius. It was found in 1996 as the Royal College of Phoenix and was renamed in late 1996 after Sir Abdool Raman Osman, the first Governor-General of Mauritius. The school became a National College in 2007. SARO SC admits students having achieved excellent results in the NCE, and preparing them for the University of Cambridge O Level and A Level.

AFRINIC (African Network Information Centre) is the regional Internet registry (RIR) for Africa. Its headquarters are in Ebene, Mauritius. Before AFRINIC was formed, IP addresses (IPv6 and IPv4) for Africa were distributed by the Asia-Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC), the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN), and the RIPE NCC. ICANN provisionally recognized AFRINIC on 11 October 2004. The registry became operational on 22 February 2005. ICANN gave it final recognition in April 2005.

Ébène (Mauritian Creole pronunciation: [ebɛn]) is a suburb of Quatre Bornes, Mauritius, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of the capital, Port Louis. Construction began in November 2001, with the suburb being promoted as a new information technology hub for Mauritius and as a link between African and Asian markets. The aim was to create a hi-tech office area in order to dynamise the country. As a result, it is also referred to as Ébène Cybercity or Cyber City.
