University House is a large 6 floor building in the centre of the University of Sheffield's campus.

Forge FM was a youth-led community radio station and educational charity in Sheffield in the 1990s. Run by volunteers, the station brought together a wide range of specialist music shows and speech-based programming with the aim of involving all members of the community, the first of its kind in the city.

The Fuzz Club was an indie rock night hosted by University of Sheffield Union of Students, which ran from 1999 to 2009. It claimed to be the biggest students union rock night in the UK outside London. The night ran weekly on Thursdays throughout term time and hosts new bands; sometimes local, sometimes national. The club provided a variety of music from heavy rock in the Bleach room to indie in the main fuzz room. The night was created by Penny Blackham, who is currently Chair of the South Yorkshire Music Board.Fuzz Club was part of the circuit for new bands trying to make a name for themselves. In recent years, it had hosted Keane, The Long Blondes, Editors, The Zutons, The Killers, Bloc Party, The xx, La Roux, Future of the Left, British Sea Power, 65daysofstatic, Ida Maria, Hot Chip, Florence and the Machine and The Others.In the mid-2000s, the club also hosted one day festivals, called Fuzztival with acts like Metronomy, Ebony Bones, Hot Chip and Toddla T on the line-up.The club night ran since 1999 and initially alternated with Bleach, a heavier rock night, which instead became resident in the Fuzz Club's second room - essentially part of Fuzz Club. At the end of the academic year 2008/09, the last night of the Fuzz Club was held on 11 June 2009. The night has now been replaced with Live Wire, opening 23 September 2010.

The Alfred Denny Building is a 7-storey red brick building in Sheffield, England named after the first Professor of Zoology at the department. It is part of the Western Bank Campus of the University of Sheffield, linked to Firth Court via the Addison Building.

The Hicks Building is a building in the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, part of the University of Sheffield. It is named in honour after William Mitchinson Hicks. It was completed in 1962 with an additional lower section joined by a bridge constructed immediately afterwards. but was reclad in 2005.The building houses the departments of Physics and Astronomy, the Chemistry and Physics Workshop (formally known as the Central Mechanical Workshops) and the School of Mathematics and Statistics, which comprises the departments of Probability and Statistics, Applied Mathematics and Pure Mathematics. It is in three sections: a taller building, with a roof height of around 40 metres (130 ft), clad in red-brick; a shorter, fully linked section which is only around 12 metres (39 ft) tall, clad in blue tiles and glass; and a section facing the University Concourse, around 15 metres (49 ft) tall, clad in blue, following a re-paint in 2010.

Firth Court is a Grade II listed Edwardian red-brick building that forms part of the Western Bank Campus of the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. Located on the northern side of Western Bank, it is the main administrative centre for the university and also houses the Departments of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and Biomedical Science. The main entrance to Firth Court is on floor C, from this point up there are four complete floors (up to F floor which houses the first of the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology lecture theatres (F2) and research labs) and then G floor which is divided into several sections (housing the second lecture theatre (G2) and seminar rooms). This gives the five floors sometimes quoted, however the department's nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) facility extends downwards from floor C and is housed on B (which is ground level at the back of the building), A and a further floor below this which has no official designation. In places the building extends above G floor, these towers do not have official floor letters but extend to what would be I floor. Counted from the bottom of the NMR pit to the highest research laboratory (that of Milton Wainwright) Firth court is 10 floors. The Main Block of Firth Court is linked, via the Addison Building, to the Alfred Denny Building. The Edwardian Block also links the North Block to the Perak Laboratories.

The University of Sheffield (informally Sheffield University or TUOS) is a public research university in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Its history traces back to the foundation of Sheffield Medical School in 1828, Firth College in 1879 and Sheffield Technical School in 1884. University College of Sheffield was subsequently formed by the amalgamation of the three institutions in 1897 and was granted a royal charter as University of Sheffield in 1905 by King Edward VII. Sheffield is formed from 50 academic departments which are organised into five faculties and an international faculty. The annual income of the institution for 2021–22 was £817 million, of which £204.8 million was from research grants and contracts, with an expenditure of £889.5 million. Known for world-leading engineering research, the university has partnerships with over 125 companies including BAE Systems, Boeing, Rolls-Royce and Airbus at the Advanced Manufacturing Park spread over 150 acres of land. Sheffield ranks among the top 10 of UK universities for research grant funding, and it has become number one in the UK for income and investment in engineering research according to new data published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).The university is one of the original red brick universities and a founding member of the prestigious Russell Group. It is also part of the Worldwide Universities Network, the N8 Group of the eight most research intensive universities in Northern England and the White Rose University Consortium. Sheffield has been ranked as a top 100 university in the world by QS for the last fifteen years. In 2019, Time Higher Education ranked the university 22nd in Europe for teaching excellence. According to the latest Research Excellence Framework 2021, Sheffield is ranked 11th in the UK for research power calculated by multiplying the institution's GPA by the total number of full-time equivalent staff submitted.There are eight Nobel laureates affiliated with Sheffield and six of them are the alumni or former long-term staff of the university. They are contributors to the development of penicillin, the discovery of the citric acid cycle, the investigation of high-speed chemical reactions, the discovery of introns in eukaryotic DNA, the discovery of fullerene, and the development of molecular machines. Alumni also include several Heads of state, Home Secretaries, Court of Appeal judges, Booker Prize winners, astronaut and Olympic gold medallists.

The West End is a loosely defined area of Sheffield, consisting of part of the City Centre, in addition to some of the western suburbs. The term has been in use for at least 150 years.

The Arts Tower is a building at 12 Bolsover Street in Sheffield, England, belonging to the University of Sheffield and opened in 1966. A spokesperson for English Heritage described it as "the most elegant university tower block in Britain of its period". At 255 feet (78 m) tall, it is the second tallest building in the city, after the 331 feet (101 m) St Paul's Tower on Arundel Gate, which was topped out in 2009. Mitchell Construction a British civil engineering firm, built the Arts Tower. Photographs from their topping out ceremony in October 1964 help to document a different era in UK working conditions.

Western Bank Library is a library at the University of Sheffield located on Western Bank, forming part of the Western Bank Campus. Formerly the Main Library, it is a Grade II* listed building opened in 1959 by Nobel prize-winning poet T. S. Eliot. The library was designed and built as a result of a national competition announced by the university in 1953. It was the university's main library until the Information Commons was opened in April 2007. Western Bank Library is linked to the Arts Tower (opened later in 1966) via a bridge between their mezzanine floors. The two buildings are intended to be viewed together according to their architect Gollins Melvin Ward.The library has 730 study spaces. It is accessed by the ground floor entrance or via entrances on the mezzanine level.

The Sheffield Children's Hospital is a healthcare facility for children in Broomhill, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It is managed by the Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust.

The Drama Studio is an intimate 177 seat theatre venue owned by the University of Sheffield and operated by the University’s Performance Venues department. Opened in 1970, it is housed in the former Glossop Road Baptist Church and retains many of the original architectural features. The studio also offers 3 individual rehearsal spaces that are available to hire. The Drama Studio offers an adaptable playing space that can be configured in many different ways. The standard main stage area is 8mx7m, with options to add more seating or staging as required. The studio is also equipped with a full professional lighting and sound system.The studio is used throughout the year by University affiliated theatre groups, local amateur dramatics societies and professional touring artists & musicians. The bi-annual Enable US festival is also resident in the Drama Studio. Enable US is a project within the University’s Performance Venues for creative expression, exploration, development and debate, which aims to provide new and innovative performing arts companies a platform to perform in Sheffield.
