North Main is a prestigious and walkable community next to Downtown. This calm, well-established neighborhood enjoys all the perks of being close to the bustle and excitement, while still keeping its privacy and serenity. It also has its own set of sought-after restaurants and shops just steps from the historic homes that grace the residential parts of the neighborhood. The area was originally founded in 1813 to be the business sector of Greenville. Residential growth sprang up in the area until the Great Depression, and it was several decades before it began to grow again. With the rejuvenation of Downtown, North Main benefited and became a thriving hub. As one of the oldest neighborhoods in Greenville, North Main is full of historic homes. However, it underwent serious rejuvenation over the last several decades. Many of the historic homes have been carefully renovated to keep their charm while giving them modern amenities. The area is surrounded north of Stone Avenue, west of Mohawk Drive and Chick Springs Road; south of North Pleasantburg Drive, and east of Worley Road, Rutherford Street, and Rutherford Road. Schools in this neighborhood include Stone Academy, Summit Drive Elementary School, and League Academy.

Hugh Aiken House is a historic home located at Greenville, South Carolina. It was designed in 1948, by noted Greenville architect William Riddle Ward and built in 1952. It is a 1+1⁄2-story frame residence in the Colonial Revival style. A large, tapered stone chimney dominates the front elevation of the house. The property features an extensively landscaped lot that is a heavily wooded, natural setting with falling topography and natural springs.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Whitehall is a historic home located at Greenville, South Carolina. It was built in 1813 as a summer residence by Charlestonian Henry Middleton on land purchased from Elias Earle. Whitehall served as Middleton's summer home until 1820. It is a simple white frame structure with shuttered windows and wide first and second story galleries, or piazzas, in the Barbadian style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.

Col. Elias Earle Historic District is a national historic district located at Greenville, South Carolina. It encompasses 74 contributing buildings in a middle-class neighborhood of Greenville. The houses primarily date from about 1915 to 1930, and include Neoclassical, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and bungalow styles. The district was originally part of the estate of Colonel Elias Earle, a prominent early-19th century Greenville citizen. The Earle St. Baptist Church is located in the district.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

East Park is a neighborhood in Greenville, South Carolina. It is located immediately north to, and adjacent of, the downtown business district. This neighborhood is part of the East Park Avenue Historic District that was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in October 2005. Subdivided in 1910, the area reached its height of development in the 1920s and 1930s.

Josiah Kilgore House, now known as the Kilgore-Lewis House, is a historic home located at Greenville, South Carolina. It was built about 1838, and is a two-story, L-shaped, vernacular Palladian style dwelling on a low foundation. It features a pedimented portico supported by square posts. It has a projecting rear wing with a three-bay porch. The structure was moved to a five-acre site in McPherson Park to prevent its demolition.The Kilgore-Lewis House serves as the headquarters for the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs, which provides tours of the house, arboretum and gardens. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
