Brauncewell is a hamlet and former civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. From the census 2011 the population is included in the civil parish of Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap. It is situated between Leadenham and the market town of Sleaford, and is north east from, and in close proximity to, RAF Cranwell. Brauncewell Grade II listed Anglican parish church is dedicated to All Saints. Built in the 16th century over an earlier church, it was largely rebuilt in 1857. It includes a grave cover in the nave dated between the 10th and 12th century. The church is now redundant.Brauncewell is close to a large quarry.A Bronze Age Barrow burial site, and Roman sites, have been identified within the parish.The parish contains the remains of two deserted medieval villages: Brauncewell, east of Brauncewell TF046524 Dunsby, east-south-east of Brauncewell TF039514

The Royal Air Force College (RAFC) is the Royal Air Force military academy which provides initial training to all RAF personnel who are preparing to become commissioned officers. The College also provides initial training to aircrew cadets and is responsible for all RAF recruiting along with officer and aircrew selection. Originally established as a naval aviation training centre during World War I, the College was established as the world's first air academy in 1919. During World War II, the College was closed and its facilities were used as a flying training school. Reopening after the War, the College absorbed the Royal Air Force Technical College in 1966. The Royal Air Force College is based at RAF Cranwell near Sleaford in Lincolnshire, and is sometimes titled as the Royal Air Force College Cranwell.

The Central Flying School (CFS) is the Royal Air Force's primary institution for the training of military flying instructors. Established in 1912 at the Upavon Aerodrome, it is the longest existing flying training school. The school was based at RAF Little Rissington from 1946 to 1976. Its motto is Imprimis Praecepta, Latin for "The Teaching is Everlasting". The school currently manages a series of training squadrons and the RAF Display Team.

Temple Bruer Preceptory is a historic building in the civil parish of Temple Bruer with Temple High Grange, North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, England. It is one of the few Knights Templar sites left in England where any ruins remain standing. Its name comes from its Templar ownership and its position in the middle of the Lincoln Heath, bruyère (heather) from the French language current at the time. It was founded in the period 1150 to 1160 and the order was dissolved in 1312. The site is located between the A15 and A607 roads, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north from Cranwell. The site has been excavated twice, firstly by the Rev Dr. G. Oliver, the rector of Scopwick in 1832–3, and in 1908 by Sir William St John Hope.

Temple Bruer with Temple High Grange is a civil parish and a former extra-parochial area in North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, England which had in the Medieval period been held by the Knights Templar and later by the Knights Hospitaller of Temple Bruer Preceptory. By an Act of Parliament passed on 5 March 1879, Temple Bruer with Temple High Grange was constituted as a parish. At that time the parish was in Flaxwell wapentake, Sleaford Union and County Court district, and the ecclesiastical rural deanery of Longobody. The parish lies 10 mi (16 km) to the southeast of Lincoln, 4 mi (6 km) southeast of Navenby and 6 mi (10 km) northwest of Sleaford. Wellingore and Welbourn parishes lie to the west and Brauncewell to the south. The old Roman road, Ermine Street, passes through the western edge of the parish, which at this point is a bridleway not a modern road. Temple High Grange is part of the parish. The parish covered about 3,900 acres (16 km2). The parish is now within the electoral area of Ashby de la Launde and Cranwell Ward in North Kesteven District Council. It shares a parish council, the lowest tier of local government, with the adjacent parish of Ashby de la Launde and Bloxholm.

Royal Air Force Cranwell or more simply RAF Cranwell (ICAO: EGYD) is a Royal Air Force station in Lincolnshire, England, close to the village of Cranwell, near Sleaford. Among other functions, it is home to the Royal Air Force College (RAFC), which trains the RAF's new officers and aircrew. The motto, Altium Altrix, meaning "Nurture the highest" appears above the main doors of the Officers Mess. Since January 2023, RAF Cranwell has been commanded by Group Captain Tina Jessup.

Byard's Leap is a hamlet in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) west from Cranwell, and is part of the civil parish of Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap. The hamlet is associated with various legends. Byard's Leap is associated with the activities of the Knights Templar, who perhaps held tournaments and jousts on the site. It lay at the southern end of their Temple Bruer military training ground.

Number 16 Squadron Royal Air Force, nicknamed 'the Saints', is a flying squadron of the Royal Air Force (RAF) who currently provide elementary flying training (EFT) with the Grob Tutor T1, presently based at RAF Wittering, an RAF airbase in Cambridgeshire, England.It originally formed as a squadron of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) on 10 February 1915 (1915-02-10), at Saint-Omer, France, to carry out a mixture of offensive patrolling and reconnaissance, and was disbanded in 1919 with the end of the First World War. The squadron reformed as part of the recently formed Royal Air Force (RAF) on 1 April 1924 (1924-04-01), and again took on a reconnaissance role which it continued throughout the Second World War. Post-war, the squadron was disbanded and reformed several times, and was converted to a bomber squadron. Equipped with the Tornado GR1 from 1984, the squadron took part in the Gulf War in 1990. It was again disbanded in September 1991, before reforming in November 1991 as the operational conversion unit (OCU) for the Jaguar. With the Jaguar's imminent withdrawal from service, the squadron disbanded once more in 2005. No. 16 Squadron reformed again and took on its current role on 1 October 2008 (2008-10-01).

Cranwell is a village in the civil parish of Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap, in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (5 km) north-west from Sleaford and 14 miles (23 km) south-east from Lincoln. The principal through road, the B1429 between the A15 to the east and the A17 to the west, joins the village to RAF Cranwell. The appropriate civil parish is called Cranwell, Brauncewell and Byard's Leap with a population of 2,827 at the 2011 census.

North Rauceby is a village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 4 miles (6 km) north-west from Sleaford, and at the 2011 census had 159 residents.North Rauceby is a shrunken village, being associated with a partial lost settlement.The Church of England parish church is dedicated to St Peter, and is situated on Church Lane; it serves both North and South Rauceby and is in the group of churches that includes those of surrounding villages. The church has a spire that reaches 107 feet (33 metres) high. The village school is Rauceby Primary School, which also serves South Rauceby and other local villages. North Rauceby is home to Cranwell Aviation Heritage Centre; its site also houses a park for touring caravans. The Rauceby Maize Maze is an attraction during the summer months. There is no bus service for North Rauceby, except for school children during term time.

South Rauceby Hall, South Rauceby, Lincolnshire, England is a country house dating from the mid-19th century. It was designed by William Burn in 1842 for Anthony Peacock Willson. Inherited by the Cracroft-Amcotts family, it remains a private home. It is a Grade II listed building.
