The Dewsbury Bus Museum is a museum in Ravensthorpe, West Yorkshire, England. Opened to the public in September 1989, it is owned and operated by the West Riding Omnibus Museum Trust, a registered charity, and is run entirely by volunteer effort.It is home to the only two surviving Guy Wulfrunian double deck buses and several other West Riding Automobile Company vehicles as well as others from Yorkshire Woollen District Transport Co, Yorkshire Traction Company, West Yorkshire PTE, Huddersfield and Halifax Corporations and local independent J. Wood of Mirfield.

St Mary's Church is the main Church of England parish church for the town of Mirfield, West Yorkshire, England. The current building is a large Gothic Revival structure designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, replacing an older structure, the tower of which still survives a short distance from the present building. These structures form Mirfield's most prominent landmark and both are listed for preservation by Historic England, the old church tower as Grade II and the present building as Grade II*.The church is notable for its Victorian architecture, medieval remains and a surviving 11th-century motte-and-bailey castle mound located within the grounds. The church has been on the Heritage at Risk Register since 2013 due to substantial works required to repair the building.

Norristhorpe has a primary school, an Anglican church, and a United Reformed Church. A Methodist chapel, built in 1906, was closed in 2004 and is now a private house.

Heckmondwike Spen was a railway station opened by the London & North Western Railway (LNWR) in Heckmondwike, West Yorkshire, England. The station was one of two in the town of Heckmondwike, the other being Heckmondwike Central which was opened by the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway (L&Y) (though at the time of the LNWR station being opened, local people referred to the L&Y station as Heckmondwike Old). After a 24-day search, she was found alive on 14 March 2008 at a flat in Batley Carr. Michael Donavan, the man whose flat she was found in, was (along with Shannon's mother Karen) later jailed for eight years for abduction and false imprisonment.

Heckmondwike is a town in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England, 9 miles (14 km) south west of Leeds. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is close to Cleckheaton and Liversedge. It is mostly in the Batley and Spen parliamentary constituency, and had an estimated population of 17,066 in March 2001, reducing to 16,986 at the 2011 Census. Heckmondwike forms part of the Heavy Woollen District.
