St Austell and Clay Country Eco-town

Penwithick (Cornish: Pennwydhek) or Penwithick Stents is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north of St Austell, in the civil parish of Treverbyn in the 'clay country' area of china clay quarrying. Whilst falling in a different civil parish Penwithick does have an electoral ward in its own name. The population of the ward at the census 2011 was 4,479Penwithick has a small local shop which also has a sub post office, a social club as well as a premises selling fish & chips. There are plans to build a new settlement Baal & West Carclaze south of the village as part of the St Austell and Clay Country Eco-town. This would include 1,800 to 2,500 homes. The plan was given outline approval in July 2009.

Carclaze is a suburb of the town of St Austell in mid-Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The suburb forms part of the civil parish of Treverbyn and gives its name to the china clay works to the north.Carclaze mine produced tin and china clay for over 400 years. The tin ore is intermixed with shorl and quartz and is quarried rather than mined, with the whole rock crushed and washed to separate the tin. The mine was worked exclusively for tin until 1851 when china clay was also quarried. Following the collapse of the price of tin in the 1860s, Carclaze continued to produce china clay and in 1873 the circumference of the pit was over 1 mile (1.6 km), 150 feet (46 m) deep and covered about 12 acres (4.9 ha).

Boscoppa (Cornish: Boskoppa) is a settlement in the amalgamation of St Austell in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Originally Boscoppa was a separate village but is now a suburb of St Austell (Cornwall's largest town) and is west of the recently built A391 bypass road. The village lies in a former mining area.

St Jude's Church is a Church of England church in Plymouth, Devon, England. It was designed by the Plymouth architect James Hine and constructed in 1875–76, with the work being carried out by Messrs Blatchford and Son of Tavistock for £3,600. Construction had begun by the time the memorial stone was laid on 26 October 1875 and the Bishop of Exeter Frederick Temple consecrated the church on 27 November 1876. It was the one of a number of churches to be erected under the auspices of the Three Towns Church Extension Society. A tower and spire were added to the church in 1881–82, with the work being carried out by Mr. Philip Blowey of Plymouth, followed by a church room in 1887–88.St Jude's has been Grade II listed since 1975. It is described by Historic England as having an early and mid Gothic style. The church is briefly constructed using Plymouth limestone, with dressings in Portland and Bath stone. Upon completion it was able to seat approximately 650 people.

There is a railway station at Bugle.
