Old Engine Company No. 26, also known as the Langdon Firehouse and Chemical Company No. 3, located at 2715 22nd Street, NE, Washington, D.C. is a historic firehouse built in 1908 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. The firehouse was built in response to a petition by the Northeastern Citizens’ Suburban Association for better fire protection. The Langdon neighborhood where it is located lay outside Washington's hydrant system, so fires were extinguished with chemicals and the station was originally known as Chemical Company No. 3. The station was renamed Engine Company 26 in the 1920s and closed in 1940.Originally built to house Chemical Company 3, the firehouse was renamed Engine Company 26 in 1913. In 1940, a year after a major restructuring of the fire department, Engine Company 26 moved in with Truck Company 15 at 1340 Rhode Island Avenue, N.E. The city then proposed to adapt the building for use as a library. The Rhode Island Avenue Citizens’ Association countered the proposal with one to use the firehouse as a community center. The city decided, instead, to sell the building to the highest bidder. Shortly thereafter, the building was purchased by a church. It was later resold to the New Memorial Temple of Christ Apostolic Faith, Inc., which currently occupies the property.

The Woodridge Neighborhood Library is a branch of the District of Columbia Public Library in the Woodridge neighborhood of Washington, D.C. It is located at 1801 Hamlin Street NE. A small sub-branch library at 2206 Rhode Island Ave NE served the neighborhood starting in 1929, and a full-fledged library branch opened at the current site in 1958. It was replaced in 2016 by a new, 20,000-square-foot library built at a cost of $16.5 million, after nearly three years of construction. The new building was designed by Wiencek & Associates and Bing Thom Architects.The new library's roof terrace is the first of its kind in the city. It is used for library and community programming, including concerts hosted by the DC Punk Archive.

Langdon, is a neighborhood located in Ward 5 of Northeast Washington, D.C. Historical surveys of D.C. recognize Langdon as a neighborhood dating back to at least 1903. Langdon is bounded by Montana Ave. NE to the west/southwest, New York Ave. NE to the south, Bladensburg Rd. NE to the southeast, South Dakota Ave. NE to the northeast, and Rhode Island Ave. NE to the north/northwest. Langdon is adjacent to the Northeast D.C. neighborhoods of Brentwood (west), Woodridge (east), Fort Lincoln (southeast), Gateway (south), and Brookland (north).

The Children's Country Home, also known as the Hospital for Sick Children, is a historic building located in Washington, D.C.'s Woodridge neighborhood.

The Mount Rainier Historic District is a national historic district located at Mount Rainier, Prince George's County, Maryland, which began as a streetcar suburb located northeast of Washington, D.C. The district was built on a gently rolling rural landscape from about 1900 to 1940. The district contains more than 1,000 buildings, which are modestly scaled, detached, single-family, frame houses sited closely together with common setbacks. It consists primarily of single-family homes, with some small apartment buildings, a few duplexes, and single family homes that include a small storefront, usually located at the corner of an intersection. With the exception of five churches and a bank building known to have been designed by local architects, the remainder of the district's buildings are vernacular in character. Some homes contain Queen Anne detailing.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Echostage is a music venue located in the Langdon neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Opened in 2012, the hybrid nightclub and concert hall has over 30,000 square feet of space and is capable of hosting up to 3,000 guests. At its inception it was the largest nightlife concert venue in Washington DC, but was eclipsed by the 6,000 person capacity at Anthem DC in 2017. The club is a venue for EDM and other dance music with performances by bands and DJs, including Lorde, Tiësto, Avicii, Calvin Harris, Disclosure, Hardwell, David Guetta, and others. Events at the venue are managed by Club Glow, which in 2015 also opened a smaller EDM venue called Soundcheck located Downtown.In 2020, Echostage was acquired, along with Club Glow and sister club Soundcheck, by Insomniac, an electronic music event promotion company. In 2021, Echostage was voted the number one club in the world by DJ Magazine's annual "Top 100 Clubs" reader's poll, after the club had already held a place in the top ten in this ranking in previous years.

Mount Rainier is a city in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, bordering Washington D.C. The population was 8,333 at the 2020 census. Mount Rainier is contained between the Northwest Branch Anacostia River, Cedar Lane Alley, and 34th Street to the north, 37th Street and 37th Place to the northeast, Upshur Street and Queens Chapel Road to the west, the CSX Capital Subdivision train tracks to the east, and Eastern Avenue NE to the south. Mount Rainier got its start as a streetcar suburb, when tracks were laid for the 82 Streetcar Line. According to local tradition, surveyors from the Pacific Northwest named the town, giving the streets names such as Shasta and Cascade. Historic U.S. 1 runs through the center of the town and serves as the main street and central business district.

Gateway is the name of a small industrial and residential neighborhood in Northeast Washington, D.C. It is bounded by New York Avenue NE to the south and southeast, Bladensburg Road to the west, and South Dakota Avenue to the northeast. Gateway is across New York Avenue from the U.S. National Arboretum. The neighborhood takes its name from the period when the Washington Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad ran in place of present-day New York Avenue. The eastern edge of the District of Columbia was occupied by the military jurisdiction of Fort Lincoln, but Gateway (immediately southwest of Fort Lincoln) was the first civilian area of the District through which trains passed. Gateway is the site of the printing press facility for The Washington Times newspaper.

Ralph Bunche House was the home Ralph Bunche commissioned from Hilyard Robinson in 1941. It is located at 1510 Jackson Street, Northeast, Washington, D.C., United States, in the Brookland neighborhood.He lived there while he was a professor at Howard University, and worked at the State Department, from 1941 to 1947.It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It was named as an endangered place by the D.C. Preservation League in 2001.

The Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America is a Franciscan complex at 14th and Quincy Streets in the Brookland neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. Located on a hill called Mount Saint Sepulcher, and anchored by the Memorial Church of the Holy Sepulcher, it includes gardens, replicas of various shrines throughout Israel, a replica of the catacombs in Rome, an archive, a library, as well as bones of Saint Benignus of Armagh, brought from the Roman catacombs and originally in the cathedral of Narni, Italy.

The United Brick Corporation Brick Complex, also known as the New York Avenue Brickworks, is a historic industrial site. It is located on the 2800 block of New York Avenue, NE in Washington, D.C. on the grounds of the United States National Arboretum. The site sits on federal land, and access by the public is restricted. The kilns represent the only remaining brickyard in Washington, D.C., and one of the few extant examples of the rounded "beehive" kiln style. The structures are constructed of red common brick, lined with heat-resistant firebrick and capped with arched, brick roofs. The complex also contained eight exhaust stacks. There is a small gauge rail system, with a standard rail siding. A factory building and drying shed, which contains 38 drying tunnels, are also still visible on the site.

Engine Company 26 in the Northeast quadrant of Washington, D.C., USA, is a historic firehouse located at 1340 Rhode Island Avenue on the border between Brentwood and Brookland. The building was listed by the National Register of Historic Places in May, 2011. The same Engine Company was located at 2715 22nd St. until 1940, and that building is also listed by the NRHP, as Old Engine Company 26 (Washington, D.C.). Both buildings were listed as part of the "Firehouses in Washington DC" Multiple Property Submission.The new building was put into service on April 27, 1937, as the home of Truck Company 15. Its address was originally listed as 1340 Brentwood Road NE, but later changed to 1340 Rhode Island Ave., NE. The original equipment was a 1919 American LaFrance 85' aerial ladder truck, which was soon replaced with a 1923 American LaFrance 75' aerial ladder truck. Engine Company 26 made the short move to the new building in 1940.On January 25, 2014, 77-year-old Medric Mills went into cardiac arrest in a shopping center parking lot across the street from Engine Company 26. Several witnesses have stated that they requested help in person from station personnel, who replied that they could only assist if dispatched from 911. Calls to 911 reportedly resulted in a unit from another station responding to an incorrect address. Mr. Mills was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital after the delayed response. The incident resulted in multiple changes to department procedures, including "an official order instructing members to provide assistance wherever possible to individuals in need, regardless of whether they were dispatched to the scene."
