Ellesmere Port and Neston (UK Parliament constituency)

Ellesmere Port and Neston was, from 1974 to 2009, a local government district with borough status in Cheshire, England. It covered the southern part of the Wirral Peninsula, namely that part which is not included in the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral. The district had a population of about 81,800 (2006 estimate). The main towns were Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the village of Parkgate. It also included a number of villages such as Great Sutton and Willaston.

Ledsham railway station was on the Chester and Birkenhead Railway near Little Sutton and about a mile from the hamlet of Ledsham on the Wirral Peninsula in Cheshire, England. The station was originally named 'Sutton' but renamed Ledsham on the opening of the Hooton to Helsby branch to avoid confusion with the newly built station named Little Sutton. The station opened on 23 September 1840 at the same time as the railway line, and was closed on 20 July 1959 due to a decline in passenger numbers. In October 1839, Sutton was the scene of a serious riot. On completion of the works a gang of Irish navvies working from the Birkenhead end met with a gang of English & Welsh navvies working from the Chester end when the contractors' wages clerk for the Irish gang made off with the pay for his men. Violent fighting between the two gangs ensued over two days involving some 2,000 men; military were sent from Liverpool and Chester, including a piece of ordnance from Chester, and 28 rioters were jailed. In 1891, the track from Ledsham Junction (half a mile south of the station) to Rock Ferry was quadrupled and Ledsham Station acquired four platforms. After the station closed the quadruple track was reduced to double in the 1970s. Two remaining platforms were in existence until the 1990s when they were demolished to accommodate a new road bridge which was built on the realignment of the A550. The double track through the station site now forms part of the Wirral Line to Chester, operated by Merseyrail.

Inglewood is a house to the north-west of the village of Ledsham, Cheshire, England. It was built in 1909, but is dated 1915. The house was built for Frederick H. Fox, a Liverpool millionaire who made his fortune in marine insurance. It was later one of the seats of the Gordon family. As of 2011 it is a hotel called Inglewood Manor Hotel. The house is mainly half-timbered, with stone dressings, and brick chimneys decorated with diapering. It is roofed with Lakeland slate. Its architectural style is late Arts and Crafts. The house has a rectangular plan, with three fronts in two and three storeys. The entrance is on the east front, which has eight bays; the south and west fronts each have five bays. On the south side is a balcony overlooking the gardens. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Also listed Grade II are the south and west terrace walls of the garden, and the east terrace walls and a pergola.

Ledsham is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The civil parish includes parts of the hamlets of Badger's Rake and Two Mills. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula, approximately 10 km (6.2 mi) to the north of the city of Chester and 6 km (3.7 mi) to the west of Ellesmere Port. At the 2011 Census, the village had a population of 181.

Sutton Hall is in the village of Little Sutton, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.The house dates mainly from the early 19th century but has a core dating from the late 17th or early 18th century. Its architectural style is late Georgian and early Regency. Its walls are rendered with rusticated quoins. The house is in two storeys with an attic. At the front is a Tuscan portico with two columns at the front and pilasters at the rear. Most of the windows are sashes. To the east is an added wing with a large full-height bow window, and there is a similar window at the west gable end.

Hooton railway station is situated in the south of the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. It lies on the Wirral Line 8 miles (13 km) north of Chester and 9+1⁄2 miles (15.3 km) south west of Liverpool Lime Street on the Merseyrail network, and is the junction of the branch from the Chester line to Ellesmere Port. It serves the villages of Hooton and Willaston. The station is midway between Junction 5 of the M53 motorway and Willaston village. It provides a major park and ride facility for Birkenhead, Liverpool and Chester, being convenient of access from north east Wales by the A550. The station car park contains compliant blue badge parking spaces; a variable height counter and new cycle parking were provided in 2007. Network Rail has installed a DDA compliant structure to replace the original footbridge, with lifts to all platforms; it was completed at the end of January 2011, making Hooton a wholly 'disabled friendly' station. An 'M to Go' shop was opened in March 2010. Improvements to the station also include new waiting rooms on platforms and fully accessible toilet facilities.

St Paul's Church is in the village of Hooton, Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Wirral South, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series describe it as "unquestionably one of the most spectacular churches of Cheshire".

The Church of St Mary of the Angels is in Welsh Road, Hooton, Cheshire, England. It is an active Roman Catholic parish church in the diocese of Shrewsbury. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The authors of the Buildings of England series state that it is "an individual design".

Childer Thornton is a village on the Wirral Peninsula, in the unitary authority Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It was once a separate village but has since been incorporated into Ellesmere Port. Childer Thornton is on the A41 trunk road, between Hooton and Little Sutton.

Capenhurst is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is two miles south west of Ellesmere Port, at the southern end of the Wirral Peninsula. According to the 2011 Census, Capenhurst had a population of 380.

Hooton is a suburban village and former civil parish on the Wirral Peninsula, within the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It was once a separate village but was incorporated into Ellesmere Port as the town expanded outwards during the twentieth century. The 2011 census recorded the population of the Hooton built-up area as 385.

Woodbank is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Puddington, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire in northwest England. It is located on the Wirral Peninsula, about 6 miles northwest of the city of Chester and near the larger village of Saughall. In 2001 the parish had a population of 62.
