Clyne Common

Mayals is the name of an electoral ward of the City and County of Swansea, Wales, UK. It is also part of the Mumbles Community. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following geographical areas: Blackpill, Mayals and part of West Cross, in the parliamentary constituency of Swansea West. It is bounded by the wards of Sketty and Killay South to the north; Swansea Bay to the east; West Cross to the south; and Bishopston and Fairwood to the west.

Newton is a village (and former electoral ward) in the city of and County of Swansea, Wales. The village is located near the Mumbles just inland and uphill from Swansea Bay. The Newton ward was a part of the Mumbles community. The sandy beaches of Langland Bay and Caswell Bay are located to the far south of the area.

Bishop's Wood (Welsh: Coed yr Esgob) is a nature reserve in the Gower Peninsula, south Wales. The area consists of 46 acres (19 hectares) of limestone woodland and grassland. Part of the wood is classified as ancient woodland. The 1673 survey of Bishopston Manor indicates that it has been wooded since at least the seventeenth century. It was designated a Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in 1975, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in 2003 and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) in 2004.

Killay railway station served the suburb of Killay, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1867 to 1964 on the Llanelly Railway.

West Cross is the name of an electoral ward in the Mumbles community and a suburb in the City and County of Swansea, Wales, UK. The ward falls within the Mumbles community. The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Manselfield, Norton, West Cross, Mumbles and Newton, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It is bordered by the wards of Mayals to the north; Swansea Bay to the east; Oystermouth and Newton to the south; and Bishopston to the west.

Oystermouth Cemetery (Welsh: Mynwentydd Ystumllwynarth) is a municipal cemetery in the village of Oystermouth, Swansea, South Wales. It was opened in 1883 and remains in use today, run by the Cemeteries and Crematorium Division of the City and County of Swansea. It has 14,162 grave spaces. The cemetery contains the Commonwealth war graves of 83 service personnel, 28 from World War I and 55 from World War II.The cemetery offers "woodland burial ground" as an alternative to traditional burial or cremation, the first of its kind in south-west Wales.

The Clyne Valley Country Park is an area of parkland in Britain, at Swansea in south Wales. It lies on either side of the valley of the Clyne River and comprises an area of over 700 acres (280 ha) of land running from the sea at Blackpill, Swansea, inland to Gowerton. It is an area of once splendid woodland with enormous beech, ash and oak trees mainly on the Mumbles side of the Clyne River, and, on the Swansea side, woods and mainly scrub land that has naturally regenerated a reclaimed refuse tip. The valley forms an important link in the ecological corridor that runs from the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountain across commons and on into the Gower AONB. The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty forms part of the valley's boundary along Clyne Common. Now dormant – apart from the rich habitat that has formed from neglect – the valley at one time was part of the Vivian estate. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries it was a highly active industrial area with a long history of coal mining, mineral workings, brick making, charcoal burning, railways and canals.

Bishopston Comprehensive School (Welsh: Ysgol Gyfun Llandeilo Ferwallt) is a comprehensive school in Bishopston, Swansea, Wales. It provides education to GCSE level, and has an enrollment as of September 2023 of 1,109 pupils and a total of 1,112 pupils. It was founded in 1976, in The Glebe, Bishopston, in the Gower Peninsula. The school is adjacent to the Bishopston Sports Centre (Welsh: Canolfan Chwaraeon Llandeilo Ferwallt) and Bishopston Primary School (Welsh: Ysgol Gynradd Llandeilo Ferwallt).

Caswell Bay (Welsh: Bae Cas-wellt; meaning: straw fortress), is a beach on the south east of the Gower Peninsula, Swansea, Wales. It is a sandy beach popular with families, holiday makers and surfers, and it regularly achieves Blue Flag status.

Clyne Gardens is a botanical garden located in Swansea, Wales, UK. The current park was formed from the landscaped gardens created by Glynn Vivian of the Vivian family who purchased Clyne Castle in 1860. The estate passed to his nephew Algernon, 'The Admiral' in 1921 who owned it until his death in 1952. Clyne Gardens is bordered by Mumbles road and Mayals road in Blackpill and Mayals areas of Swansea with entrances off both these roads. The gardens are listed on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Clyne Castle is a Grade II*-listed building situated on a hill overlooking Swansea Bay, adjacent to the Clyne valley, near Blackpill, Swansea. Originally built in 1791 by a wealthy landowner it passed into the hands of the Vivian family and saw many distinguished guests over the years. Acquired by Swansea University in the 1950s, it was used as student accommodation. It has since become a block of apartments.

Langland Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course known in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty overlooking Langland Bay near Swansea, Wales, UK.The first evidence of a golf club at Langland Bay is a minute book dating from 1901. The golf course was officially opened on 10 September 1904. The centenary in 2004 was marked by special events and a visit from Prince Andrew, Duke of York.The club's members claim Hole 6 is the most difficult in Wales, while Hole 16 is known as "Death Or Glory" with the sea on one side and a 100 feet steep drop on the other. The other holes typically have small greens and plenty of rough grass and sand traps. The sea can be easily seen from 15 of its 18 holes.The club hosts the Gwalia PGA Pro-Am tournament each year, raising money for the Gwalia Housing Trust.
