Keilor Park, Victoria

Keilor Stadium is an Australian indoor arena that caters to both basketball and netball. It is located in Keilor Park, a north-western suburb of Melbourne, Victoria. From 1987 until 1990, the stadium was the home of National Basketball League team the Westside Melbourne Saints. In 2015, a AU$6.5 million refurbishment of the almost 30 year old stadium was completed with 3 extra courts being built. The new courts were officially opened on 7 December.

Keilor Botanic Gardens, located in Melbourne's north-west in the suburb of Keilor Park, is entirely devoted to Australian native flora. Created in 1982, it covers 10 hectares. It is managed by the City of Brimbank as part of Keilor Park Reserve and Botanic Gardens.

Horseshoe Bend Farm is a 26 hectares (0.10 sq mi) park in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, adjacent to Brimbank Park on the Maribyrnong River. Formerly a commercial farm, it is now managed by Parks Victoria, but no longer has any livestock. An original 1930s weatherboard cottage still exists on the site. Previously the park was closed for nearly five years but has recently opened again.

The City of Keilor was a local government area about 13 kilometres (8 mi) northwest of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia. The city covered an area of 99.70 square kilometres (38.49 sq mi), and existed from 1863 until 1994.

The Keilor archaeological site was among the first places to demonstrate the antiquity of Aboriginal occupation of Australia when a cranium, unearthed in 1940, was found to be nearly 15,000 years old. Subsequent investigations of Pleistocene alluvial terraces revealed hearths about 31,000 years BP, making Keilor one of the earliest sites of human habitation in Australia. Remains of megafauna suggest a possible association with Aboriginal hunting.

Brimbank Park is a metropolitan regional park managed by Parks Victoria situated in the north-western Melbourne suburb of Keilor East, Victoria, Australia.

Keilor is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 16 km (9.9 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Brimbank and Hume local government areas. Keilor recorded a population of 5,906 at the 2021 census.Whilst most of the suburb is contained within the City of Brimbank, the northern section of Keilor, north of the Calder Freeway, is within the City of Hume. This section of the suburb is located on the flood plain of the Maribyrnong River, and is home to many market gardens. The suburb is mainly residential with large industrial developments in adjacent suburbs. There are several shopping centres in the area including Keilor Shopping Centre and Watergardens Town Centre approximately 5 km away.

Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School (abbreviated as PEGS) is a multi-campus independent Uniting Church comprehensive co-educational early learning, primary and secondary day school, with three campuses located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The school is the product of an amalgamation of two schools, Penleigh Presbyterian Ladies' College and Essendon Grammar School, which was completed in 1977. Uniforms were different for boys and girls until Term 3 2020 when a new combined school uniform was launched. The school's campuses are located in Essendon, Moonee Ponds and Keilor East. The school is a member of the Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria and competes against the other member schools in a range of sports.

The Green gully archaeological site is an Aboriginal archaeological site in Keilor, Victoria, Australia. The site was discovered during soil quarrying in the 1960s, when artefacts and a burial were uncovered in the alluvial terraces in the Maryibyrnong Valley.The site is located near the confluence of Taylors Creek and the Maribyrnong River at 37°43′46″S 144°49′42″E. The Keilor Terraces were identified as a sequence of Pleistocene alluvial terraces, which in several locations have revealed very old Aboriginal remains, for example the Keilor archaeological site.The site has also been important in development of an understanding of climate change and different river conditions in the Melbourne area over a period of more than 30,000 years.The Catalogue of Fossil Hominids Database notes that the site is dated to about 6500 years old.

Keilor East is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 13 km (8.1 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the Cities of Brimbank and Moonee Valley local government areas. Keilor East recorded a population of 15,078 at the 2021 census.Keilor East is bounded in the west by the Maribyrnong River in the City of Brimbank, in the north by the Calder Freeway, in the east by Hoffmans Road, and in the south by Buckley Street, Steele Creek and Rosehill Road.

Airport West is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 12 km (7.5 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Moonee Valley local government area. Airport West recorded a population of 8,173 at the 2021 census.Bounded by the Calder Freeway to the south, the Tullamarine Freeway to the east, and the Western Ring Road to the north west, Airport West is so named for its position to the west of Essendon Airport, Melbourne's first general airport now used for light planes, charter and freight since the opening in 1970 of Melbourne Airport, located to the north of the suburb. It has the distinction of being the only locality in Australia which does not itself contain an airport to contain the word "Airport."

Essendon Keilor College was founded in 1992 from the amalgamation of Queens Park Secondary College (formerly Essendon Technical School), Essendon High School, Niddrie High School and Keilor Heights Secondary College. Essendon Keilor College (current enrolment approx 1800) is a multi-campus college providing state education primarily to students from the North and West of Melbourne. The College consists of two Junior Campuses located at Keilor and Niddrie and one Senior Campus located at Essendon. The Essendon Keilor College uniform is a white coloured shirt with the symbol of the school on the left chest and dark blue coloured pants. A dark blue jumper with the school symbol is worn in winter.
