Alma, Israel

Helam (Hebrew: חֵילָם / חֵלָאם, ḥêlām; meaning "stronghold", or "place of abundance") is a Hebrew Bible place name. According to 2 Samuel 10:15-18, Helam was the site of King David's victory over the Syrians under Hadarezer. It may be associated with modern Alma, Israel, about 55 km (34 mi) east of the Sea of Galilee.

Alma (Arabic: علما) was a Palestinian Arab village in the Safad Subdistrict, Mandatory Palestine. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War on October 30, 1948, during Operation Hiram. It was located 10 km north of Safad. In 1945 it had a population of 950.

Rehaniya (Hebrew: רִיחָנִיָּה, Arabic: الريحانية, Adyghe: Рихьаные [rəjħaːnəja]) is a Circassian town in northern Israel. It is one of the only two Circassian towns in Israel, the other being Kfar Kama. Located about 8 km north of Safed, it falls under the jurisdiction of Merom HaGalil Regional Council. In 2021, it had a population of 1,228.

Dayshum (Arabic: ديشوم) was a Palestinian village, depopulated on 30 October 1948 by the Sheva Brigade of Israeli paramilitary force Palmach in an offensive called Operation Hiram, where the village has been destroyed, and only house rubble left behind. The village was located 12 kilometers (7.5 mi) north of Safed, 600 meters (2,000 ft) above sea level.

Dallata (Arabic: دلاّتة) was a Palestinian Arab village, located on a hilltop 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) north of Safad. Constructed upon an ancient site, it was known to the Crusaders as Deleha. Dallata was included in the late 16th century Ottoman census and British censuses of the 20th century. Its inhabitants were primarily agriculturalists, with some involved in carpentry or trade. Dallata was depopulated during the 1948 Palestine war on around May 10, 1948 by the Palmach's First Battalion of Operation Yiftach. Following the establishment of Israel, the Israeli locality of Dalton was established about 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) southwest of the village site.

Qision (Hebrew: קַצִיּוֹן, also spelled Qazion and Qatsion) was an ancient settlement in Upper Galilee, now an archaeological site in northern Israel, featuring the ruins of the settlement, including a public building, possibly an ancient synagogue, alongside an inscription dedicated to the Roman emperor Septimius Severus and his family commissioned by the local Jewish community. The site is known as Ḥorvat Qazyon (Hebrew: חורבת קציון), and in Arabic as Khirbet Qasyun or Khirbet Keisun.

Al-Ras al-Ahmar was a Palestinian Arab village in the Safad Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab–Israeli War on October 30, 1948, by the Israeli 7th Armored Brigade during Operation Hiram. It was located 8.5 km north of Safad.

Kerem Ben Zimra (Hebrew: כֶּרֶם בֶּן זִמְרָה) is a moshav in northern Israel. Near Safed in the Upper Galilee, it falls under the jurisdiction of Merom HaGalil Regional Council. In 2021, it had a population of 529.

Dishon (Hebrew: דִּישׁוֹן) is a moshav in northern Israel. It is located near the border with Lebanon, within the Naftali Mountains, near the Dishon Stream. It falls under the jurisdiction of Mevo'ot HaHermon Regional Council. As of 2021 it had a population of 335.Dishon was established in 1953 by Jewish immigrants from Libya, on land belonging to the depopulated Arab Palestinian village of Dayshum. Its name is a variation of the name of the Palestinian village.Dishon ATVs is the oldest ATV tours company in Israel, offering offroad trips by ATV and jeep in the Galilee, Hula Valley and Golan Heights.In the 2023 conflict between Hamas and Israel, Hezbollah targeted northern Israeli border communities, forcing evacuations, including in Dishon.

Marus (Arabic: ماروس) was a Palestinian village in Upper Galilee, 7 km northeast of Safad. In the Roman and medieval period it had Jewish population, and by the 16th century it became entirely Muslim. After a period of desertion, it was resettled by Algerian Arabs. It was depopulated in 1948 during the Operation Hiram by the Israeli attacking brigade Sheva' Brigade.

Dalton (Hebrew: דַּלְתּוֹן) is a moshav near Safed in northern Israel under the jurisdiction of Merom HaGalil Regional Council. It was founded by immigrants from Tripoli in Libya in 1950 under the leadership of Hapoel HaMizrachi. The moshav is built near the ruins of an ancient village of the same name, which was home to a Jewish community during the Middle Ages. On the grounds of the moshav is a tomb ascribed to 2nd century rabbinic sages Jose the Galilean and his son rabbi Yishmael. The economy is based on agriculture, the Dalton Winery and a guesthouse. As of 2021 it had a population of 870.

Fara (Arabic: فارة) was a Palestinian Arab village in the Safad Subdistrict. It was depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War on October 30, 1948, under Operation Hiram. It was located 11.5 km north of Safad on the Wadi al-Fara.
