It serves all students in grades six through twelve in the Wynford Local School District. The school was established in 1963 as Wynford High School for grades nine through twelve and was combined with the middle school in 2020 after the completion of the current facilities on the same campus. Athletic teams are known as the Royals and the school colors are royal blue and gray.

It is located in northern Ohio approximately 28 miles (45 km) west of Mansfield and 66 miles (106 km) southeast of Toledo. The population was 11,684 at the 2020 census. The county was created in 1820 and later organized in 1836. It was named for Colonel William Crawford, a soldier during the American Revolution. Crawford County comprises the Bucyrus, OH Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Mansfield-Ashland-Bucyrus, OH Combined Statistical Area.

Camp Millard was a United States Army facility in Crawford County, Ohio. It was established on the Crawford County Fairgrounds in 1942. After the end of World War II, the land and buildings were returned to the county. During the war, the 753rd Railway Shop Battalion was stationed at Camp Millard.
