Pewaukee Lake is a lake located in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. The largest lake in Waukesha County's "Lake Country", Pewaukee Lake is approximately five miles (8 km) long and one mile (1.6 km) wide, with an average depth of 15 feet (4.6 m) sloping to a maximum depth of 46 feet (14 m).The lake is known for its inland sailing races. National sailing events take place annually and are often hosted by the Pewaukee Yacht Club located on the southern shore of the lake. The lake's fish include bluegill, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, muskellunge ("muskie"), northern pike, tiger muskellunge ("tiger muskie"), walleye, yellow perch and non-native carp.Pewaukee Lake experienced high waters and flooding during the spring and summer of 2008. The floods caused millions of dollars in damages to the surrounding area.

Gary Comer, founder of Lands' End clothing company, advised and helped them distribute their first blocks by placing them in the Lands' End catalogue. In 1986, Vanguard Sailboats was spun off to Stephen Clark in Rhode Island so that the brothers could focus on hardware. Harken hardware has been a dominant force in the racing segment for many years, making its Olympic and America's Cup debuts in 1976 and 1977, respectively.Harken's primary manufacturing plants are the Pewaukee headquarters and the Italian office in Limido Comasco, Como. The village is 7.24 square miles (19 km2) at an elevation of 930 feet. The population was 11,487 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area.

Waukesha North High School is one of three high schools located in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Operated by the Waukesha School District, the school opened in mid-year, at the start of the second semester, during the 1974-1975 school year. The school is part of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Classic 8 Conference in athletics. North's nickname is the "Northstars" and the school mascot is the polar bear, "Sparky" The school has a rotating schedule and advisory program. Its marching band won the WSMA state marching band championship every year from 2007 to 2015.
