Central Street Historic District (Millville, Massachusetts)

Millville is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 3,174 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Providence metropolitan area.

The Main Street Historic District is a historic district encompassing a portion of the 19th century industrial village center of Millville, Massachusetts. This district covers a large portion of the village, along Main Street south of Central Street, and along Lincoln Street and Chestnut Hill Road radiating away from Central Street. Other historical portions of the village are contained within the Central Street Historic District. This district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Chestnut Hill Meetinghouse (also known as South Parish Meeting House) is an historic meeting house at the corner of Chestnut and Thayer Streets in Millville, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood frame meetinghouse was built in 1769. It is very plainly decorated, with only its door surrounds of architectural interest. They consist of pilasters flanking the door, which is topped by a full triangular pediment. The interior consists of a large meeting chamber, in which stand 26 box pews. The building served as the meeting place of South Parish into the nineteenth century, and is one of a small number of surviving 18th-century meetinghouses whose main entrance is on the long side of the building. It is purported to be the first place of worship that the first utterance for the independence of this country was announced publicly The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The Blackstone River Greenway (formerly Bikeway) is a partially completed 48-mile (77 km) paved rail trail defining the course of the East Coast Greenway through the Blackstone Valley from Worcester, Massachusetts to Providence, Rhode Island in the United States. As of 2016, approximately 11.5 miles (18.5 km) of the trail has been completed in Rhode Island, connecting the communities of Woonsocket, Lincoln, Cumberland, and Manville. Some 2.5 miles (4.0 km) of completed trail in Massachusetts connect Worcester and Millbury, as well as 3.7 miles of trail connecting Uxbridge and Blackstone. The path roughly parallels the right-of-way of the active Providence & Worcester Railroad and its predecessor, the Blackstone Canal, running alongside the Blackstone River. In some places, the bike path follows the old canal towpath, with the long-abandoned canal running along one side and the river on the other. Only a short portion near Pratt Dam (a.k.a. Lonsdale Dam, connecting Lincoln, Rhode Island and Cumberland, Rhode Island) runs on abandoned railroad right-of-way.Once finished, the greenway will be linked to the East Bay Bike Path, for an additional 14.5 miles (23.3 km) of trail to Bristol, Rhode Island. The Blackstone River Greenway is also a designated section of the East Coast Greenway, the 3,000-mile trail system connecting cities from Maine to Florida.

The Sylvanus Holbrook House is a historic house at 52 Albee Road in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. This 2+1⁄2 story timber-frame house was built c. 1780. It was owned by Sylvanus Holbrook, one of the founding directors of the Blackstone National Bank. It is five bays wide, with a central entry that is a typical Federal style with flanking pilasters supporting a five-light transom window and triangular pediment. Second story windows are butted up to the eave, a common Georgian feature.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

North Smithfield Public Library is a public library at 20 Main Street in the village of Slatersville in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. Part of the library is currently located in a renovated nineteenth century stone mill building that was a mill store house for John Slater's nearby mill before it became the North Smithfield Public Library in 1966, and the library is adjacent to the Slatersville Reservoir. An extensive addition was added in the 1980s. The Library was originally founded in 1931 with the first branch in the Union Village school before eventually moving to Slatersville.

Slatersville is a village on the Branch River in the town of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, United States. It includes the Slatersville Historic District, a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic district has been included as part of the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. The North Smithfield Public Library is located in Slatersville. Slatersville was associated with and named for Samuel Slater and John Slater, members of the well-known Slater family. In the late nineteenth century, the Woonsocket and Pascoag Railroad was built through the village, and the line was later acquired by the Providence and Worcester Railroad and run as a freight rail line terminating in Slatersville near a steel distributor by the Slater Mill, rather than its former endpoint in Pascoag.

Dr. Harry L. Halliwell School is an elementary school in the Slatersville village of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, USA (in Providence County).

The Dexter Richardson House is an historic house at 5 South Street in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2 story wood-frame house was built c. 1736, and is a well-preserved local example of transitional Georgian-Federal styling. The basic massing of the main block is Georgian, with five bays and a central entry, with a large central chimney. The entry is framed by Federal style fluted pilasters and topped by a heavy pediment; there is a five-light transom window above the door.On October 7, 1983, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The William and Mary Farnum House was an historic house located at 4 Albee Road, Uxbridge, Massachusetts, United States. The 2+1⁄2 story brick house was built in 1821, and was a fine local example of Federal style architecture. The house may have originally been built for the grandchildren of Moses Farnum, a prominent early settler of the area.]

The North Smithfield School District is a school district in the Primrose section of North Smithfield, Rhode Island. It operates two elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.

Forestdale is a village and historic district in North Smithfield, Providence County, Rhode Island, United States, one-half mile from Slatersville, Rhode Island. The historic district runs east and west along Main Street and north on Maple Avenue. School Street is the primary road through the village, and the one-room schoolhouse for which the street is named still stands. The Branch River runs through the valley adjacent to the School Street. The Village Haven Restaurant and local VFW chapter are also located in the village.
