Rijnmond

Pernis is an above-ground metro station of the Rotterdam Metro Line C. The station is located in the village of Pernis, near the centre of Rotterdam. The station was opened in November 2002, as a result of an extension of the East-West Line (also formerly called Caland line). This extension connected the former terminus Marconiplein to the North-South Line (also Erasmus line) at Tussenwater station.

Pernis is a neighborhood and submunicipality (since 3 March 2010) of Rotterdam, Netherlands. The district has a population of 4,845 (2018) on a total area size of 1.60 km² (0.62 sq mi). Pernis is thus a full submunicipality of Rotterdam, but the former independent municipality had its own district council already. Although surrounded by ports, Pernis has preserved its village-like atmosphere very well. Pernis is best known for its petrochemical industry. Refineries define its skyline. Shell's sprawling complex located there is the largest oil refinery in Europe, and one of the largest in the world. Pernis was merged with 's-Gravenambacht in 1832. It remained an independent municipality until 1934, when it was merged into Rotterdam.

Vijfsluizen is an above-ground of Rotterdam Metro line C. The station is located in the Vlaardingen area of the City of Schiedam, adjoining Rotterdam. It was designed by Zwarts & Jansma architects and entered service with the opening of the line on 4 November 2002. Vijfsluizen station is an important transfer point between the metro and buses.

Troelstralaan is a metro station in Schiedam, situated on Rotterdam Metro line C. The station was opened on 4 November 2002 as part of the last major expansion of the Rotterdam metro. The main entrance, at the east end of the subway station, is located on the street named after P.J. Troelstra, and the island platform is accessible by entrances on both ends.

Vlaardingen Oost is a metro station in Vlaardingen in the Netherlands. Located on the Hoekse Lijn, it is served by RET Metro Line B at all times, and Line A during peak periods.

Nieuwland, Kortland, en 's-Graveland (often abbreviated to "Nieuwland c.a.") is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located on three sides of the city of Schiedam. The municipality existed between 1817 and 1855.The municipality consisted of three polders: Kortland, west of Schiedam; Nieuwland, north of the city; and 's-Graveland, northeast of the city. Nieuwland is now the name of a neighbourhood of Schiedam, located in the former municipality. According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, Nieuwland c.a. had about 330 inhabitants.

Schiedam Nieuwland is a metro station in Schiedam in the Netherlands. Located on the Hoekse Lijn, it is served by RET Metro Line B at all times, and Line A during peak periods. The station is built on the bridge over the Nieuwe Damlaan, one of the principal streets northwest of the city centre of Schiedam.

Sportpark Harga is a cricket ground in Schiedam, Netherlands. The first recorded match on the ground came in 1968 when the Netherlands Under-23s played the Marylebone Cricket Club. The ground hosted various touring international sides in the 1980s, while in 1990 it held seven matches in the ICC Trophy. In 2003, the ground held a Women's One Day International when the Netherlands Women played Japan Women at the IWCC Trophy. In September 2020, a turf ground was installed, giving the facility a total of six pitches, with the aim to host One Day International (ODI) matches in the future.

Vlaardingen (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈvlaːrdɪŋə(n)] (listen)) is a city in South Holland in the Netherlands. It is located on the north bank of the Nieuwe Maas river at the confluence with the Oude Maas. The municipality administers an area of 26.69 km2 (10.31 sq mi), of which 23.57 km2 (9.10 sq mi) is land, with 73,924 residents in 2021.

Schiedam (Dutch pronunciation: [sxiˈdɑm] (listen)) is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the Rotterdam–The Hague metropolitan area, west of Rotterdam, east of Vlaardingen, and south of Delft. In the south the city is connected with the village of Pernis by the Beneluxtunnel. The city is known for its historical center with canals, and for having the tallest windmills in the world. Schiedam is also well known for the distilleries and malthouses and production of jenever (gin) − such as the internationally renowned Ketel One − so much so that in French and English the word schiedam (usually without a capital s-) refers to the town's Holland gin. This was the town's main industry during the early Industrial Revolution in the 18th and 19th century, a period to which it owed its former nickname "Zwart Nazareth" or "Black Nazareth". Furthermore, the city is known for Saint Lidwina, one of the most famous Dutch saints (her relics are located in the Liduina Basilica in Schiedam).

De Noord (English: The North) is a windmill located on the Noordvest 38 in Schiedam, Netherlands. It is the tallest windmill in the world with a roof height of 33.3 metres. Its wing span is 26.6 metres. The mill is one of the five remaining windmills in Schiedam, and is a national monument (nr 32716) since 29 May 1969. Today De Noord houses a restaurant.
