Basilica di Santo Stefano Maggiore is a church in Milan, Italy. It was established in the 5th century. Originally dedicated to both Saint Zechariah and Saint Stephen, it was later dedicated to Saint Stephen only. Throughout its history, has undergone several reconstructions, expansion and restoration. It is also called St. Stephen in Brolo (the historical name of the area) or St. Stephen's Gate (in reference to the postern of Santo Stefano, now no longer exists).

San Bernardino alle Ossa is a church in Milan, northern Italy, best known for its ossuary, a small side chapel decorated with numerous human skulls and bones. In 1210, when an adjacent cemetery ran out of space, a room was built to hold bones. A church was attached in 1269. Renovated in 1679, it was destroyed by a fire in 1712. A new bigger church was then attached to the older one and dedicated to Saint Bernardino of Siena.

The Verziere (old-fashioned Italian word for "greengrocery market"; also known as Verzee, in Milanese) was the traditional greengrocery street market of Milan, Italy. The market itself has been relocated several times, and it is now in Via Lombroso, east of the city centre; the word "Verziere", anyway, still refers to the main historic location of the market, where it was held from 1776 century until 1911. The new greengrocery market of Via Lombroso is more properly referred to as "Ortomercato" (another Italian word with the same meaning) or "Mercati Generali" ("general markets"). The "Verziere" area has been a symbol of Milan, and notable Milanese scholars such as Carlo Porta and Carlo Maria Maggi celebrated the Verziere in their works as the place where both the Milanese dialect and the Milanese culture was represented in their purest form.

Sant'Antonio abate is a Roman Catholic church in Milan, Italy. The church is located on a street running parallel to Via Festa del Perdono. An older church linked to a hospital had operated at the site under the administration of the Augustinian order. The interior of the church was begun in 1582 in Mannerist style. The current appearance of the church is the work of Francesco Maria Richini, who completed the commission in 1630 for the Theatine order. The Neoclassical façade was designed in 1832 by the architect Giuseppe Tazzini.The church contains frescoes by Genovese and his brother Giovanni Battista Carlone; a fresco cycle on the Life of the Virgin by Giulio Cesare Procaccini (1574-1625), a “Nativity” and “Adoration of the Magi” by Pier Francesco Mazzucchelli, and frescoes by Guglielmo Caccia, depicting scenes from the Old Testament.

San Gottardo in Corte or San Gottardo a Palazzo is a church in Milan, northern Italy. It was built as Ducal Chapel by Azzone Visconti in 1330, and finished in 1336, as indicated by an inscription on the walls. It was originally dedicated to the Blessed Virgin but Azzone, who had gout, later changed the dedication to St. Gotthard of Hildesheim, patron of those with gout. The design was by Francesco Pecorari from Cremona. The octagonal bell tower has the first example of public clock (before, sun-dials were used). The interior was restored in the Neoclassicist era by Giocondo Albertolli. Of the original church, part of the Giottesque Crucifixion, a canvas with St. Charles Borromeo by Giovan Battista Crespi and the tomb of Azzone Visconti remain.

The Palazzo Tarsis is an 18th-century mansion in Milan, northern Italy, built in the Neoclassical style. Its interiors were fully renovated after the building was bombed in 1943. Historically part of the Porta Nuova district, it is located at 1, Via San Paolo.

Piazza del Liberty is a pedestrian square located along Via San Paolo, one block north of the Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, some 3 blocks north east of the Duomo in central Milan, region of Lombardy, Italy. The piazza was created in part in the space after the destruction of the Teatro Milanese during the Allied bombardment in 1943, and takes its name from the Art Noveau (Liberty style) facade decoration of one of its buildings. It is now complemented by chic shops and modern fountains. The white marble Liberty style facade of the former Hotel Corso, was designed in 1905 by Angelo Cattaneo and Giacomo Santamaria and erected at a building at nearby Corso Vittorio Emanuele II #15. That building was damaged by the 1943 bombardment, and subsequently demolished. The facade was repurposed for the monumental building or Palazzo della Società Reale Mutua di Assicurazioni Torino, built on the north of the piazza. Beneath the piazza in 1959 was built an underground theater; the piazza was reconstructed in 2018 by the designs of Norman Foster with a modern design of a sunken open air stage. At the western end, above he stage is a fountain with a series parallel spouts aimed at tall glass plates. A stairwell, flanked by the mirrored fountains, descends to the modern subterranean Apple store.

Santa Maria Maggiore, called the basilica vetus (old basilica) or basilica minor (minor basilica), was a church in Milan, established in 313, which served as co-cathedral alongside Santa Tecla until it was torn down after 1386 to make room for the modern cathedral. It served as the winter cathedral, while Santa Tecla was that of the summer.

The Baths of Hercules (Latin: Thermae Herculianae, Italian: Terme Herculee) were the largest thermae in the ancient Roman city of Mediolanum (modern-day Milan). The structure was built during the late 3rd and early 4th century, under the orders of Emperor Maximian, who had assumed the title Herculius after the divine hero.
