Robinson–Gardner Building, also known as the Robinson Brothers Building, is a historic commercial building located at Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina. It was built in 1899, and is a two-story, three-bay, brick building with Renaissance Revival style design elements. The second story of the front facade features a round arch with a decorative cartouche at the keystone position and terra cotta swirls at the bases. Within the arch is a pressed metal swag between a pair of ribboned wreaths pierced by vertical torches. Above the arch, pressed metal wreaths hold another, larger, metal swag.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. It is located in the Downtown Gastonia Historic District.

First National Bank Building, also known as the Lawyers Building, is a historic office building located at Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina. It was designed by Wilson & Sompayrac and built in 1916–1917. It is a seven-story, rectangular, Classical Revival style steel frame building. It is sheathed in cream-colored brick with limestone and terra cotta trim.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is located in the Downtown Gastonia Historic District.

Third National Bank Building is a historic office building located at Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina, USA. It was designed by Milburn, Heister & Company and built in 1923. It is an eight-story, four bay wide, English Tudor Revival style steel frame building. It is sheathed in dark red brick and stone with a molded terra cotta covered top story. It features a projecting main entrance with a two-story segmental arched opening.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is located in the Downtown Gastonia Historic District.

Gaston County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina. It was designed by Milburn, Heister & Company in 1909 and built in 1910. It is a three-story, rectangular, Classical Revival style tan brick building with a rear addition. It features pedimented porticoes supported by Ionic order columns, a heavy modillion and dentil cornice, and three-sided pavilions on the side elevations. The building was renovated in 1954.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It is located in the Downtown Gastonia Historic District.

It encompasses 77 contributing buildings and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Gastonia. The commercial, civic, institutional, and multi-unit residential buildings were built between the 1890s and 1954, and include notable examples of Colonial Revival and Classical Revival architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed former Gaston County Courthouse, First National Bank Building, Third National Bank Building, and Robinson-Gardner Building. Other notable buildings include the U.S. Post Office (1935), York Medical Building (1938), Kress Department Store, Leibowitz Department Store (c. 1910), Ideal Moving Picture Theater (c. 1912), City Hall, Kirby Building (1922), First Baptist Church (1922), Gaston County War Memorial Hall (1928), and the (former) Gaston County Public Library (1930).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

The Gaston County Police Department is a law enforcement agency of Gaston County, North Carolina, United States. It is one of only two County Police police agencies within the State of North Carolina along with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. The Gaston County Police Department has the primary responsibility for the enforcement of North Carolina state laws and Gaston County ordinances in unincorporated areas of the county. Law enforcement within the incorporated municipalities of Gaston County is generally the primary responsibility of the police departments of the particular municipalities. However, the Gaston County Police Department is also the primary law enforcement agency for the incorporated cities of High Shoals and Spencer Mountain. They are also authorized to respond to calls in all areas of the county. The Gaston County Police Department is a separate agency from the Gaston County Sheriff's Office, which has the responsibilities of managing the county jail, protecting the county courthouse, serving civil and criminal documents, and pursuing and arresting fugitives from legal actions taken through the courts. In 2007, the department had 137 sworn officers and 90 civilian employees with a $11.9 million annual budget.

City Hospital-Gaston Memorial Hospital is a historic hospital complex located at Gastonia, Gaston County, North Carolina. The complex consists of: the 1924 Classical Revival style City Hospital designed by architect Charles Coker Wilson; the 1951 Gaston Memorial Hospital; the 1957 addition that connects them; and a 1947 nurses’ school and dormitory. The original section is a four-story, 12 bay by 3 bay, brick building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Sims Legion Park is a 3,000-seat baseball park in Gastonia, North Carolina that is the home field for Gaston College baseball. It has hosted the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League, as well as American Legion baseball. The Grizzlies moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina starting with the 2021 season and were renamed the Spartanburgers.The stadium underwent a total rebuild in the 1970s in order to attract a Minor League Baseball team. Since then the stadium has seen many tenants come and go. An ongoing effort to build a new ballpark in Gastonia in 2021 produced CaroMont Health Park, home to the Gastonia Honey Hunters of the Atlantic League. Sims Legion Park was further renovated between the 2021 and 2022 baseball seasons.Players who've played here include Andy Van Slyke (Cardinals, Pirates), Sammy Sosa (Rangers, White Sox, Cubs, Orioles), Juan González (Rangers, Tigers, Indians, Royals), Iván Rodríguez (Rangers, Marlins, Tigers), and former Major Leaguer Tug McGraw (Mets, Phillies), who pitched one game for the Rangers in 1989.

CaroMont Health Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Gastonia, North Carolina which opened in 2021 as the home of the Gastonia Honey Hunters in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an official Partner League of Major League Baseball. It is part of a 16-acre (6.5 ha) downtown redevelopment plan known as the Franklin Urban Sports and Entertainment (FUSE) District.The new ballpark was designed to accommodate a variety of other events, including concerts, soccer, lacrosse, and football with an artificial turf surface and a capacity of 5,000.In May 2021, the Honey Hunters announced that the stadium would be renamed CaroMont Health Park following a ten-year naming rights deal with CaroMont Health, a regional healthcare provider that operates the CaroMont Regional Medical Center and other medical facilities. The stadium's first event was an exhibition baseball game on May 23, 2021, followed by the regular season opening day game on May 25.The Gaston College Rhinos baseball team used this stadium in early 2022 while Sims Legion Park was undergoing a renovation.

The dwellings were built between about 1856 and 1955, and include notable examples of Queen Anne and Bungalow / American Craftsman architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed former Gastonia High School. Other notable contributing resources include the Beal-Ragan Garden, Oakwood Cemetery, Caroline Hanna House (c. 1882), Spurrier Apartment building (c. 1929), Edgewood Apartments (c. 1937), and Devant J. and June S. Purvis House (1951).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
