ROF Kirkby

The Academy, Kirkby is the current home of both Liverpool and the Liverpool Reserves and Academy. Known for sponsorship reasons as AXA Training Centre, it has been the home of Liverpool's reserve and youth teams for several years. Beginning in 2017, it was expanded and renovated to provide space for the senior team to move there from Melwood. Construction was eventually completed in October 2020, having been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first-team moved into the facility in November 2020.

Headbolt Lane is a new railway station in the Towerhill/Northwood area of Kirkby in Merseyside, North West England. The opening of a station in the area has been an objective of the local authority since 1972 and detailed plans have been under development since at least 2013. Planning permission was granted in December 2021, with construction due to commence in January 2022. It is anticipated that the station will open in Spring 2023.Once opened, it is anticipated that the station would replace Kirkby as the interchange between the Merseyrail Northern Line and unelectrified Kirkby-Wigan line, currently operated by Northern Trains.

Kirkby Urban District was a local government district in the administrative county of Lancashire, England, from 1958 to 1974. From 1949 onwards, the main settlement of the district was Kirkby new town. A District Council was created in 1958. The first meeting of the District Council was held on 9 April 1958. At that meeting it was resolved that Councillor James Wylie, J.P. be appointed Chairman of the Council In 1974 it was abolished and its former area was transferred to Merseyside to be combined with that of Huyton with Roby Urban District, Prescot Urban District, parts of Whiston Rural District and parts of West Lancashire Rural District, to form the present-day Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley.

Simonswood is a civil parish in the West Lancashire district of Lancashire, England. At the 2001 census, the population was 130, increasing to 151 by the 2011 census.It was originally a township associated with the parish of Walton on the Hill, and became a separate civil parish in 1866. From 1894 to 1974 it formed part of the West Lancashire Rural District. On 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, it was transferred to the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley in the new metropolitan county of Merseyside. The Simonswood parish was transferred back to Lancashire (to the West Lancashire district), on 1 April 1994. At the time of this transfer the area of the parish was 830 hectares (8.3 km2; 3.2 sq mi), and the population was 150.There is one listed building in the parish, Simonswood Hall, which is listed at Grade II*.

Simonswood Hall is a country house in the civil parish of Simonswood in the West Lancashire district of Lancashire, England. It was built in 1687 and thoroughly restored in the 1880s. The house is constructed in sandstone with a stone-slate roof. There are two storeys with an attic, and three bays, the third bay being a cross wing projecting under a gable. On the left return is a single-storey lean-to extension. The doorway in the central bay has a rusticated surround, with voussoirs and a keystone. There is one window that is transomed, all the others being mullioned; all the windows have hood moulds. The house also has quoins and finials on the gables, which are coped. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

St Mary's Church is in Knowsley Lane, Knowsley Village, Merseyside, England. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Liverpool, the archdeaconry of Liverpool and the deanery of Huyton. In the Buildings of England series, Pollard and Pevsner describe the church as being "largish" with "an intimate interior".

All Saints Catholic High School is a Knowsley based Roman Catholic secondary school educating pupils aged 11–18 years of age in the Kirkby area of Merseyside, England. The school also operates a sixth form.

The Kirkby Project was a proposed new football stadium in Kirkby, England for Everton. The stadium, if built, would have replaced Goodison Park as Everton's home ground. The plan originated in 2006, was the subject of a Public Inquiry in December 2008, but was eventually rejected by central government in November 2009. The stadium had a planned all-seated capacity of 50,401 with a provision to be expanded to 60,000.

Kirkby ( (listen) KUR-bee) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, England. The town, historically in Lancashire, has a size of 4,070 acres (16.5 km2) is 5 miles (8 km) north of Huyton and 6 miles (10 km) north-east of Liverpool. The population in 2016 was 41,495 making it the largest in Knowsley and the 9th biggest settlement in Merseyside.Evidence of Bronze Age activity has been noted though the first direct evidence of a settlement dates to 1086 via the Doomsday Book. The town was mainly farmland until the mid-20th century due to building of ROF Kirkby, the largest Royal Ordanance Factory filling munitions.In November 2020, Liverpool F.C. relocated its training facilities from the Melwood site in West Derby, to the town following the completion of the new AXA Training Centre.

Simonswood Supply Depot was one of the main ammunition depots in Lancashire, England during World War II. Located at Simonswood, it was used as an ammunition depot delivered by ROF Kirkby. The remains of the ammunition bunkers still exist today.

Barrow Nook is a small rural hamlet on the fringes of Bickerstaffe in the county of Lancashire, England.Stone quarried from Barrow Nook was used to build the church and school at Bickerstaffe in the early 1840s. Barrow Nook Hall was the former home of Richard John Seddon, until he emigrated in 1866. He later became Prime Minister of New Zealand.

Stonebridge Park is a new business park under construction in Gillmoss on the outskirts of Liverpool, created by St. Modwen Properties with the help of Liverpool Vision. The park lies close to the East Lancs Road the A580 road on the border of the Fazakerley and Croxteth areas of the city.
