Carmarthen East and Dinefwr (UK Parliament constituency)

Carmarthen East and Dinefwr (Welsh: Dwyrain Caerfyrddin a Dinefwr) is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. Also, however, it is one of eight constituencies in the Mid and West Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to eight constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole. It had been held since its formation in 1999 by the Plaid Cymru politician, Rhodri Glyn Thomas until his retirement in 2016. It is now held by Plaid Cymru politician Adam Price, who became leader of the party in 2018.

Llanfynydd is a village, parish and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The community population at the 2011 census was 499. It lies some 10 miles (16 km) north-east of the county town, Carmarthen. Bordering it are the communities of Llansawel, Talley, Manordeilo and Salem, Llangathen, Llanegwad and Llanfihangel Rhos-y-Corn, all in Carmarthenshire.

Llanfihangel Rhos-y-Corn is a sparsely populated community of Carmarthenshire, Wales. The population of the community taken at the 2011 census was 468. The community is bordered by the communities of: Llanybydder; Llansawel; Llanfynydd; Llanegwad; Llanllawddog; Llanfihangel-ar-Arth; and Llanllwni, all being in Carmarthenshire. It includes the village of Brechfa.

The Battle of Cadfan was fought between English and Welsh forces in 1257. The battle consisted of two military engagements; one at Coed Llathen and the other at Cymerau. The word Cadfan is Welsh for "place of battle".

Abergorlech is a village 8 miles (13 km) to the north-west of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, Wales. It lies on the River Cothi on the B4310 road, between Brechfa to the southwest and Llansawel to the northeast. The Pont Cothi bridge, which crosses the River Cothi in the centre of the village, is a grade II* listed building. Abergorlech gets its name from the Afon Gorlech, a minor river which joins the Cothi on the eastern edge of the village. The village is connected to Dafydd Gorlech (fl. c. 1410–1490), one of the poets of the nobility.

Cathinog (also spelt Catheiniog, Cetheiniog) was a hundred, a geographic division, in the traditional county of Carmarthenshire, Wales. Its name derives from St. Cathen, a local saint to whom a church is dedicated in Llangathen.

Aberglasney House and Gardens is a medieval house and gardens set in the Tywi valley in the parish of Llangathen, Carmarthenshire, West Wales. It is owned and run by Aberglasney Restoration Trust, a registered charity. The house is a Grade II* listed building and the gardens are listed, also at Grade II*, on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Allt y Gaer (Welsh for 'hill of the fort') is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in Llangathen community, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is a 3.5ha conifer woodland on the northern slopes of the Tywi Valley, which has SSSI protected designation because it holds the largest heronry in West Wales.

Allt y Wern is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in the community of Llangathen in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The site is a semi-natural broadleaved woodland with an area of 6 hectares (15 acres).

Llangathen () is a village and community located in Carmarthenshire, Wales. The population taken at the 2011 census was 507.The parish church of St Cathen is a Grade II* listed building and houses the tomb of Anthony Rudd, an Elizabethan Bishop of St David's who owned Aberglasney House and developed its gardens in the late 16th century. The churchyard has some ancient yew trees. Within the parish is the country house and garden of Aberglasney, also a Grade II* listed building, which once belonged to the Dyer family. It lies at the foot of Grongar Hill, the celebrated subject of a poem by John Dyer published in 1726. The community is also home of Dryslwyn Castle. The community is bordered by the communities of: Manordeilo and Salem; Llandeilo; Llanfihangel Aberbythych; Llanarthney; Llanegwad; and Llanfynydd, all being in Carmarthenshire. Allt y wern, a broadleaf woodland and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is to the south-west of the village.

Dryslwyn Castle (Welsh: Castell y Drysllwyn) is a native Welsh castle, sited on a rocky hill roughly halfway between Llandeilo and Carmarthen in Wales. It stands on high ground overlooking the Tywi Valley with extensive views. It was built in about the 1220s by one of the princes of the kingdom of Deheubarth, and changed hands several times in the struggles between the Welsh and English over the ensuing centuries. It is considered one of the most important remaining structures built by a Welsh chieftain and is a Grade I listed building.
