Threekingham

St Peter's Church is a church in Threekingham, Lincolnshire. It is dedicated to St. Peter ad Vincula (St Peter in chains). It became a Grade I listed building on 1 February 1967. A Saxon church, mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, was located here but the Normans began rebuilding the church in 1170. Part of the church, notably the door and porch, is dated to 1310. A sundial on the turret to the left of the porch says "1688 Gifte of Edmond Hutchinson, Gentleman". The church contains three 14th-century tombs, one of which is inscribed "Hic intumulatur Johannes quondam dominus de Trikingham" ('Here is buried John, former lord of Threekingham'). The spire was restored in 1872.

Stow Fair was an English medieval fair inaugurated in 1233 and held at Stow Green Hill in Lincolnshire.The Prior of Sempringham was granted permission in 1268 to hold this annual fair, from 23 to 25 June, confirming an earlier charter. The fair continued until living memory, being run as a horse fair until 1954. It seems likely that earlier fairs were held on the same days, one of which is the feast day of St Ætheldreda, long associated with the site. Historian Graham Platts' view is that there should be scepticism over a belief that the fair developed from earlier summer solstice rites.The North Kesteven Council has erected an information board at the site, with historical text and a photograph of the horse fair in 1908.

Spanby is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Threekingham, in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, about 5 miles (8 km) south from the town of Sleaford. In 1921 the parish had a population of 84. On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished and merged with Threekingham.The 1086 Domesday Book lists the village as "Spanebi", consisting of 12 households.The parish church is a Grade II listed building dedicated to Saint Nicholas. It was declared redundant by the Diocese of Lincoln in 1973, and is now used as a shed. The 1882 rebuilt red-brick building is on or near the site of an earlier church dating from the 13th century. The door to the vestry dates from the 14th century.

Birthorpe is a hamlet in the civil parish of Billingborough, in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated less than 1 mile (2 km) west from Billingborough and the B1177 Pointon Road, and 2 miles (3 km) east from Folkingham. Birthorpe was formerly in the parish of Semperingham, in 1866 Birthorpe became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished and merged with Billingborough. In 1921 the parish had a population of 46.Birthorpe is regarded as a shrunken medieval village. The Manor House and farm house are listed buildings.There was a substantial manor here well before 1300: the family who owned it took their name from the village. The most notable family member was Roger de Birthorpe (died c.1345), who had a distinguished career as a judge in Ireland, becoming Chief Baron of the Irish Exchequer in 1327. Roger was a somewhat controversial figure, who fled to Ireland after being outlawed for his part in a private war with Sempringham Priory, but eventually received a royal pardon. Birthorpe passed to the Deyncourt family before 1343.

Threekingham Bar is the name given to interception of the A52 (Grantham to Boston) and A15 (Peterborough to Lincoln and Hull) roads, 1 mile (1.6 km) to the west of the village of Threekingham, in Lincolnshire, EnglandThe interception is arranged as a small modern roundabout. Both roads are single carriageway. The countryside is undulating, and the A52 descends into a valley to the west. The location is rural, with no human habitation. The name dates it to the turnpike era. The A52 approximately follows the route of Salters Way.An 18th-century mile post is in the verge, 220 yards (200 m) south from the roundabout.

Osbournby (locally pronounced Ozzenby or Ossenby) is a small village and civil parish in the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish (including Spanby) at the 2011 census was 381.It is located 5 miles (8.0 km) south from Sleaford on the A15 road near the A52 roundabout. Adjacent villages include Spanby, Aunsby and Threekingham. In 2001 the village had a population of 358.The church is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul. The village public house is the Whichcote Arms on London Road (A15). There is a small primary school and nursery in the village.

Folkingham Castle is located near the village of Folkingham, Lincolnshire, England. The castle was the caput baroniae of the barony of Folkingham. A motte and bailey castle was constructed around the late 11th century by Gilbert de Gant, a Flemish soldier in William the Conqueror’s retinue. After the death of his ancestor Gilbert de Gaunt, Baron Gaunt in 1297 without issue, the castle passed to the crown. The castle was then granted to Henry de Beaumont. Edward II, granted Henry a licence to crenellate the castle in 1312. The rectangular inner bailey, surrounded by a moat, with a larger outer bailey, is probably attributable to the Beaumont family. During the 19th century a correction house was built inside the castle. This house was demolished in the 1950s.

It is situated 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south-east from the town of Sleaford, Scredington church, on Church Lane, is dedicated to Saint Andrew.

Folkingham ( FOK-ing-əm) is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies on the A15 road 11 miles (18 km) north of Bourne and 10 miles (16 km) south of Sleaford. The 2001 Census gave a population of 729, rising to 796 at the 2011 census, and estimated at 795 in 2016.

The Church of St Andrew in Folkingham, Lincolnshire, England, is Grade I–listed Anglican church. Originating in the late 12th century, it was largely completed by the late 15th, with restorations carried out in 1825, 1858 and 1860. It has early Decorated style arcades and a mainly Early English chancel, with a Norman pier where there was an opening into a chantry chapel. On the south side of the church are the remains of stocks and a whipping-post.The churchyard contains the war graves of two army personnel of the First World War.The church is a prominent feature of the village, but is inconspicuous from the Market Place. In 2006 it was damaged when gale force winds blew down two of the four pinnacles, one of which fell onto the roof causing damaging costing more than £100,000 to repair.Folkingham is part of the Parish of South Lafford in the Deanery of Lafford, Diocese of Lincoln.

Billingborough and Horbling railway station was a station serving the villages of Billingborough, Horbling and Threekingham, Lincolnshire on the Great Northern Railway Bourne and Sleaford railway. It opened in 1872 and closed to passengers in 1930. The section from Bourne to Billingborough remained open for goods until 1964.

Aswarby and Scredington railway station was a station close to Scredington, Lincolnshire on the Great Northern Railway Bourne and Sleaford railway. It opened in 1872 and closed in 1930. It was originally shown on maps as Aswarby Station, but by 1905 it was shown as Aswarby and Scredington Station.
