Wardon Abbey

Old Warden Tunnel is an abandoned railway tunnel near the village of Old Warden in Bedfordshire.

Old Warden Tunnel nature reserve is a 3.8-hectare (9.4-acre) nature reserve near Old Warden in Bedfordshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. The site is on top of a disused railway tunnel, Old Warden Tunnel.The site has oak and ash woodland with mature blackthorn and hawthorn bushes, and a steep cutting with grassland and scrub. Flowers include dwarf thistle and pyramidal orchid, and the scrub provides nesting sites for birds.There is access by a track from Southill Road.

Eastcotts Castle was a medieval castle located in the parish of Eastcotts, at the edge of Exeter Wood, in the county of Bedfordshire, England. Eastcotts Castle is believed to have been constructed during the late 11th, or early 12th, centuries. It was a small motte castle, made of timber, located on the northern edge of the Bedfordshire Greensand Ridge. It was in a prime location, overlooking the village of Cardington, as well as the River Ouse. Only earthworks remain at the site, which is a Scheduled Monument, located in Exeter Wood, 780m south east of Wood Farm.

Southill Lake and Woods is a 25.3-hectare (63-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Southill in Bedfordshire. It is part of Southill Park, which was designed by Capability Brown, and is registered by English Heritage for its special historic interest, and is the garden of a house of the same name.The wood is a wet valley of alder, fed by springs, and a small stream runs down to the lake. There is fen vegetation in more open areas. The lake has a characteristic population of breeding birds, and an island has one of only two surviving heronries in the county.The site is private and is not open to the public.

The parkland has legal designations in heritage and plant or wildlife protection. Further structures in the grounds have heritage protection including the follies of a Tuscan architecture temple and a partially stone-faced bridge, both designed by Henry Holland.
