De Librije

Librije's Zusje (English:Librijes little sister) was a restaurant in Zwolle, Netherlands. It was a fine dining restaurant that was awarded one Michelin star in 2009 and retained that rating until 2011. In the period 2012-2014 the restaurant was awarded two stars.The restaurant was owned by Jonnie and Thérèse Boer and was part of the culinary group around De Librije. It was located in a former women prison, which they share with Librije's Hotel and Librije's Atelier (cook- and wine school).Head chef was originally Sidney Schutte. After the departure of Schutte in 2009, Alwin Leemhuis took over. Leemhuis left in 2012 and was succeeded by Maik KuijpersOn 1 May 2014 the second sister of De Librije opened in Amsterdam. This restaurant, also named Librije's Zusje is located in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel. On 14 September 2014 it was announced that Librije's Zusje (Zwolle) would close on 31 December 2014 and that De Librije would take over the location.

Zwolle (Dutch: [ˈzʋɔlə] ) is a city and municipality in the Northeastern Netherlands. It is the capital of the province of Overijssel and the province's second-largest municipality, after Enschede, and has a population of 130,592 as of 1 December 2021. Zwolle borders the province of Gelderland and is east of the River IJssel.

The Landstede Sportcentrum is an indoor sports complex located in Zwolle, Netherlands, which is used as a sports arena and was opened in 2010. It is the home of basketball team Landstede Hammers. The "centre court", which is used by both the club has a capacity of 1,200 people. The complex is owned by ROC Landstede, a company that is also main sponsor of the basketball and volleyball clubs. The Sportcentrum is also used for many other sports, like artistic gymnastics and table tennis. In 2011 and 2012, the international basketball tournament Basketball Days was held in the Sportcentrum. It is nicknamed the Theater van de Sport (Theatre of Sport).

The Sassenpoort (English: Saxon Gate) is a gatehouse in the city wall of Zwolle, the Netherlands. It was built in 1409 out of dimension stone, mostly trachyte and tuff, and restoration work was done in 1893-1898. The gatehouse is a rijksmonument and is part of the Top 100 Dutch heritage sites.

Museum de Fundatie (Dutch pronunciation: [myˌzeːjʏm də fʏnˈdaː(t)si]) is a museum for the visual arts in Zwolle, Netherlands. Museum de Fundatie forms part of the Hannema-de Stuers Foundation, to which Kasteel het Nijenhuis in Heino also belongs. Museum de Fundatie possesses a collection of visual arts, with works ranging from the end of the Middle Ages until the present day, collected by Dirk Hannema, former director of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. As well as the permanent collection, Museum de Fundatie organises new, wide-ranging exhibitions every three months. Museum de Fundatie recorded a record number of 310,000 visitors in 2015.

The Vrouwenhuis on Melkmarkt 53 in the Dutch city of Zwolle is a former old age home for women. It is now rented as separate apartment units for students, while housing a small museum on the ground floor that is only accessible by special request.

Zwolle is the main railway station of Zwolle in Overijssel, Netherlands. The station opened on 6 June 1864 and is on the Utrecht–Kampen railway, also known as the Centraalspoorweg, the Zwolle–Almelo railway, the Arnhem–Leeuwarden railway, the Zwolle–Stadskanaal railway and the Lelystad–Zwolle railway, also known as the Hanzelijn. The station is a major hub for the Northern Netherlands. It is the only way trains can get from the north of the country, to any other region of the Netherlands.

Bouches-de-l'Yssel ([buʃ.də.li.sɛl]; "Mouths of the IJssel"; Dutch: Monden van de IJssel) was a department of the First French Empire in the present-day Netherlands. It was formed in 1810, when the Kingdom of Holland was annexed by France. Its territory corresponded with the present-day Dutch province of Overijssel. Its capital was Zwolle. The department was subdivided into the following arrondissements and cantons (situation in 1812): Zwolle, cantons: Hasselt, Kampen, Steenwijk, Vollenhove and Zwolle. Almelo, cantons: Almelo, Delden, Enschede, Goor, Oldenzaal and Ootmarsum. Deventer, cantons: Deventer, Hardenberg, Ommen and Raalte.Its population in 1812 was 145,000, and its area was 340,000 hectares.After Napoleon was defeated in 1814, the department became part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands.

IJsselhallen is a convention center located in Zwolle, Netherlands, which has hosted many concerts. It hosted Legoland 2010. IJsselhallen has a floor space of 20,000 m2 and was built in 1972. The IJsselhallen proposed to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 but pulled out because it is too small, the roof is too low and the capacity would not reach the EBU’s requirement.

The Oosterenkstadion was the stadium of Dutch football club FC Zwolle. At the time of its demolition, the all-seater stadium had a capacity of 6,865 spectators. It was replaced by the FC Zwolle Stadion, later renamed the IJsseldelta Stadion. The stadium was built in 1934 and was thoroughly renovated in the 1980s. The main stand has been named after Johan Cruijff, because Johan Cruijff had played his last official match, in 1984, against FC Zwolle. Construction of a new stadium on the location of the current stadium was planned to start in November 2004, but was suspended when citizens of Zwolle protested against plans for a casino in the stadium. For the casino, the local gambling regulations had to be amended. A referendum on the issue in early March 2005 gave the opponents of the casino a resounding victory (approximately 76% of the voters voted against the casino), and the local government decided to abandon the plans. Almost two months later, a new plan was announced, which included a casino in the stadium within the limits set by local gambling regulations. Construction started in March 2007. The new stadium has a planned capacity of about 10,500 spectators and the total plan (with hotel, casino, restaurants, shops and offices will cost approx. €50 million. It opened on 29 August 2009. On May 22, 2007, the board of FC Zwolle asked the supporters to come up with suggestions for the names of the new stands. The names had to be those of former players of PEC and of FC Zwolle. This caused an uproar among the supporters, who demanded that one of the stands be named after former chairman and club owner Marten Eibrink. A few days later, on May 26, the board announced that it had decided to name the north stand of the new stadium, where the most devout supporters would be seated, Marten Eibrink Stand. On June 1, the club started a poll on its website, in which supporters could choose from six names for the three remaining stands: Henk Timmer, Fred Patrick, Jaap Stam, René IJzerman, Leo Koopman, and Klaas Drost. On June 14, the club announced that the three stands would be named after Henk Timmer, Fred Patrick, and Klaas Drost.

Zwollerkerspel (Low Saxon: Zwollerkärspel) is a former municipality in the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. It covered the countryside around the city of Zwolle. Zwollerkerspel was a separate municipality from 1802 until August 1, 1967, when it became a part of Zwolle, Hasselt, Heino, IJsselmuiden and Genemuiden.

MAC³PARK Stadion (Dutch pronunciation: [mɛɡˈdripɑr(ə)k ˌstaːdijɔn]) is a multi-use stadium in Zwolle, Netherlands. It is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of PEC Zwolle. The stadium has an official capacity of 14,000. The stadium replaced Oosterenkstadion as the home of PEC Zwolle. On 12 July 2012 PEC Zwolle announced the new name for their home ground, IJsseldelta Stadion. The current name, MAC³PARK Stadion, was unveiled in November 2015 and officially adopted on 1 July 2016.
