The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) is a federal public health agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The agency focuses on minimizing human health risks associated with exposure to hazardous substances. It works closely with other federal, state, and local agencies; tribal governments; local communities; and healthcare providers. Its mission is to "Serve the public through responsive public health actions to promote healthy and safe environments and prevent harmful exposures." ATSDR was created as an advisory, nonregulatory agency by the Superfund legislation and was formally organized in 1985.Although ATSDR is an independent operating agency within the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) performs many of its administrative functions. The CDC director also serves as the ATSDR administrator, and ATSDR has a joint Office of the Director with the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH). The ATSDR headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia, at the CDC Chamblee campus. In fiscal year 2010, ATSDR had an operating budget of $76.8 million and had roughly 300 full-time employees (not including contractors).ATSDR is formally and administratively overseen by the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), currently Dr. Rochelle Walensky, in their capacity as ATSDR Administrator. Direction is provided by ATSDR's director, currently Dr. Patrick Breysse, who ranks below the Administrator, and ATSDR's associate director, currently Dr. Christopher Reh.

The Interactive College of Technology (ICT) is a chain of for-profit career colleges headquartered in Chamblee, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta), United States. The school has campuses in Georgia, Kentucky, and Texas. The school offers certificates, associate degrees, and continuing education and uses computer based training and hands on training as particular modes of instruction.

Chamblee ( SHAM-blee) is a city in northern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, northeast of Atlanta. The population was 30,164 as of the 2020 census.

Buford Highway (also Buford Highway Corridor), a.k.a. the DeKalb International Corridor, and in the 1990-2000's as the DeKalb County International Village district, is a community northeast of the city of Atlanta, celebrated for its ethnic diversity and spanning multiple counties including Fulton, DeKalb, and Gwinnett counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The area generally spans along and on either side of a stretch of Georgia State Route 13 (SR 13) in DeKalb County. It begins just north of Midtown Atlanta, continues northeast through the towns of Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville, and Norcross. The name of the corridor originates from the name of the highway which connects to the city of Buford. Creative Loafing's Atlanta edition named Buford Highway Atlanta's "best neighborhood for diversity" in their March 2012 Neighborhood Guide. The population exceeds 50,000.

Chamblee is a train station in Chamblee, Georgia, serving the Gold Line of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. The station is bounded by New Peachtree Road on the East, Peachtree Road on the West and Chamblee Tucker road to the South. Chamblee Dunwoody Road is approximately ¼ mile to the north. A multi use trail has been completed between Keswick Park and Chamblee Tucker Road; this trail crosses under Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Clairmont Road and ends at the Wal-Mart Shopping Center just southeast of the station. Chamblee has plans to connect this multi use trail at Keswick Park to an existing PATH trail that runs near Ashford Dunwoody Road between Blackburn Park and Murphey Candler Park. This station provides access to DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, Interactive College of Technology, Chamblee City Hall, and connecting bus service to Northlake Mall, Georgia State University (Dunwoody Campus), Peachford Hospital, Mercer University, Strayer University, the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency, North DeKalb Health Center, and the Veterans Administration Hospital.

Plaza Fiesta is a 350,000 square feet (33,000 m2) shopping mall in DeKalb County, Georgia on the eastern border of the city of Brookhaven, on Buford Highway and Clairmont Road. The mall contains a large supermarket ("farmers market"), several large discount stores, and a large space filled with over 140 small vendors, modeled on a Mexican mercado or flea market. According to newspaper Creative Loafing, "to Atlanta's immigrant population, Plaza Fiesta has become as vital a shopping destination as Lenox Square or the Mall of Georgia." The mall opened in 1968 as the Buford-Clairmont Mall and included a movie theater. Tenants included Woolco which later became a Burlington Coat Factory. Later the mall became "Outlet Square" and included a Winn-Dixie supermarket. In 1996, new owners turned the mall into "Oriental Mall", modeled after a crowded Hong Kong street. In 2000 new owners spend $11 million to transform Oriental Mall into Plaza Fiesta. A Publix supermarket closed in 2005. Marshall's closed in the early 2010s as it opened a store in nearby Town Brookhaven.2013 saw a number of openings at the plaza, including the Shoppers World discount store, Planet Fitness gym, and Ross Dress for Less. That same year, the mall reported over 4 million visitors. The mall attracts shoppers from as far as North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. In February 2020, an Ollie's Bargain Outlet location opened next to the Planet Fitness location.

McElroy Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church was organized June 3, 1953. It was formerly Candler Road Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, organized February 13, 1949. The building, now for sale, stands at 3593 Clairmont Road, Chamblee, Georgia, United States, in DeKalb County. The church included the Albert W. Krueger Educational Unit, Erected 1956. For a number of years, it operated McElroy Presbyterian Kindergarten.

St. Pius X Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school in Chamblee, DeKalb County, Georgia, near the city of Atlanta. It was founded by the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1958.

Chamblee High School, formerly known as Chamblee Charter High School, is a public secondary school located in Chamblee, Georgia, United States. As of 2010, it serves 1512 students in grades 9–12. It is the second oldest high school of the DeKalb County School District, having opened in 1917.Chamblee was a charter school until 2021 and accepts students from all of Dekalb County as well as from its local district. Chamblee was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1996 and is one of 27% of schools in Dekalb to make the AYP of the No Child Left Behind Act. CHS was ranked #215 of the 1500 best public high schools by Newsweek magazine. Its students' SAT scores are ranked first in Dekalb County and sixth in the state.When adjusted for differences in demographics, Chamblee High School has the highest SAT scores of all Atlanta-metro schools (including Cobb, Gwinnett, and Forsyth). Its 84th percentile ranking is superior to Walton (73rd percentile) and other suburban counterparts. The student body also has one of the highest acceptance rates to tier 1 colleges and universities in the state of Georgia.The school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, courses, and sports. There are elective performing art classes which are bolstered by performances. CCHS offers 32 AP courses, the most of any high school in Dekalb County, and was named an AP Honor School in 2011 for every category in which it was eligible.

Sophia Academy was a private, Roman Catholic PreK3-12 school in the Atlanta metropolitan area in Georgia. It was located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta and was located in Sandy Springs and then DeKalb County (later annexed by Chamblee).

Yeshiva Atlanta (YA) was the first Jewish secondary school in Metro Atlanta, Georgia. It was established on August 28, 1970, and it ran until July 1, 2014, when it was merged with Greenfield Hebrew Academy primary school to form the Atlanta Jewish Academy, a comprehensive Pre-K through 12th Grade School. The final campus was in Doraville.

The Crypt of Civilization is an impenetrable airtight chamber, built between 1937 and 1940, at the Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, Georgia. The 2,000-cubic-foot (57 m3) repository is meant not to be opened before 8113 CE and contains numerous artifacts and sound recordings that illustrate civilization and human development to the 20th century. Classic literature and religious texts were also deposited, as well as items showing the extent of scientific progress to 1939. Thornwell Jacobs, the initiator of the project, was inspired by the opening of Egyptian pyramids and wanted to create a repository of everyday 1930s objects and a record of human knowledge over the preceding 6000 years. The Guinness Book of Records declared the Crypt to be the first genuine attempt to permanently preserve a record of 20th century culture for people of thousands of years into the future.
