Bishopgate Green (also known as Bishopsgate Green) is a suburb of Coventry in the West Midlands, England. It is located on the Coventry Canal. It is an area between Foleshill and Hillfields and shares the area code CV1.

Shri Sidhi Vinayagar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Elephant God Ganesha. It opened in 2011. The temple premises has idols of Ganesha, Murugan, Shiva, Durga, Bhairava and Navagrahas. A new bigger temple is being constructed in the same premises which includes various Hindu Gods. It is situated in George Eliot Road, off Foleshill Road, Coventry CV1 4HT and is easily reachable by the local buses. Daily Poojas are performed. Coventry pillaiyar (கொவென்றி பிள்ளையார்) is yet another name for Coventry Shri Sidhi Vinayagar Devasthanam situated in the heart of England. The temple was founded by local devotees who is very much love with Lord Ganesha. The annual festival of the Temple (தேவஸ்தானம்) is conducted every year beginning with flag hoisting and continued for 10 days. Highlight of this annual event is chariots festival (தேர் திருவிழா) where Lord Ganesha is taken on a beautifully decorated cart pulled by devotees around designated streets of Coventry. The Hindhu Art College, a wing of Temple Devasthanam, conducts a regular art and Language classes. They also host various community cultural events and attract all communities.

Bird Grove House, known locally as the George Eliot house, is a two storey stucco house in Foleshill, Coventry. It was occupied by Mary Ann Evans (better known as George Eliot) and her father between 1841 and 1849.

Courtaulds Ground was a cricket ground in Coventry, Warwickshire. The ground was owned by Courtaulds. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1949, when it hosted its first first-class match between Warwickshire and Hampshire in the County Championship. From 1949 to 1982, the ground played host to 56 first-class matches, the last of which was between Warwickshire and Middlesex.The ground also hosted List-A matches, the first of which was between Warwickshire and Leicestershire in the 1972 Benson and Hedges Cup. From 1972 to 1983, the ground held 8 List-A matches, the last of which was between Warwickshire and Derbyshire in the 1983 John Player Special League.Today the ground is no longer used for cricket and is in a desperate state of disrepair. The pavilion, built at a cost of £15,000 in 1935, is itself derelict and the outfield overgrown.

City College Coventry was a further education college based in the city of Coventry, England. It was formed in 2002 through the merger of two previous colleges in the city, although through them it has roots going back to the 19th century. It was one of three further education colleges within the city boundaries, alongside Henley College and Hereward College. The college caters for 12,000 students and occupies a purpose-built campus in the Swanswell area of Coventry. In 2017 City College merged with Henley College to form Coventry College.

HMS Mercia was a shore establishment of the Royal Navy located in Smith Street, Coventry, England. The establishment functioned primarily as a communications training centre for Royal Navy personnel in the Midlands. The establishment was commissioned on 1 October 1984 as part of the Royal Navy's network of shore based training facilities. HMS Mercia provided training in naval communications, signalling procedures, wireless operation & administrative support functions. The unit also supported Royal Naval Reserve activities in the region, maintaining a Royal Navy presence in Coventry during the later stages of the Cold War. Located in Smith Street in central Coventry, HMS Mercia occupied premises associated with wartime & post war military administration in the city. The establishment formed part of a wider reorganisation of Royal Navy shore facilities during the 1980s, with smaller communications & reserve training units distributed across major regional centres. The establishment remained operational throughout the late 1980s & early 1990s. Following reductions in Royal Navy shore establishments after the end of the Cold War, HMS Mercia was selected for closure. The establishment paid off on 29 July 1994, when the ship's company transferred to HMS Forward in nearby Birmingham. Following the decommissioning of HMS Mercia, the establishment's ship's bell was presented to Coventry Cathedral, where it remains displayed as part of the cathedral's links with the British Armed Forces.

The Coventry/Bedworth Urban Area or Coventry Built-up area as defined by the Office for National Statistics had a population of 359,252 at the 2011 census, which made it the 16th largest conurbation in England and Wales by population. It is also one of the most densely populated. In the 2021 census the population of the urban area was recorded at 389,603.

Coventry Ordnance Works was a British manufacturer of heavy guns particularly naval artillery jointly owned by Cammell Laird & Co of Sheffield and Birkenhead, Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company of Govan, Glasgow and John Brown & Company of Clydebank and Sheffield. Its core operations were from a 60-acre site in Stoney Stanton Road in the English city of Coventry, Warwickshire. At the end of 1918 it became a principal constituent of a brand new enterprise English Electric Company Limited. After World War II the works made electricity-generating machinery and heavy machine tools.

Hillfields is a suburb of Coventry in the West Midlands of England. It is situated north of Coventry city centre, and has undergone a series of name changes throughout its history originally called "Harnall" and has seen itself change from a village, to a remote suburb, to a large postwar redevelopment zone. Hillfields has always welcomed immigrants of all nationalities. Originally the Irish communities and then the Indian-sub continent and West Indian communities settled in the mid 20th century. The area declined in the early 90s however in recent times a wave of new immigrants from Northern Iraq (Kurdistan) Iran as well as various people's from Africa have settled and have invested into the area and now the area is a lively neighbourhood bustling with shops and restaurants selling intercontinental produce and cuisine. Hillfields used to be home to Coventry City Football Club on Highfield Road until the club relocated to the Ricoh Arena. Hillfields is also home to Sidney Stringer Academy. The area includes Primrose Hill Park.

Sidney Stringer Academy is a coeducational (mixed) academy school for pupils aged 11 – 18 in Hillfields, Coventry, England. It was Sidney Stringer School and Community College from 1972 until 1994, then Sidney Stringer Community Technology College until c. 2004 and Sidney Stringer School to 2010 when it became Sidney Stringer Academy.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital was a former hospital in Coventry on Stoney Stanton Road on the northern edge of the city centre. The hospital was opened in 1867 and closed in 2006, to be replaced by the new University Hospital Coventry sited about 4 miles north east of the centre.

The Eclipse (later The Edge) was a nightclub in Coventry, England, and the first legal all-night club in the UK.The Eclipse was a former Granada Bingo Hall, when local entrepreneurs Stuart Reid and Barry Edwards would put on the first allnighter in October 1990. The 1,600 capacity club was split over three floors.The resident DJs were Mick Park and Mick Wilson (aka Parks & Wilson), The opening night line-up included: Evil Eddie Richards, Fabio, Sasha, and MC Tunes, who moaned about the sound system and walked off stage saying, "Get the sound sorted out, we'll be back soon", but he didn't return. It is said that the venue gave The Prodigy one of their first gigs for a fee of £60. The venue would also host nights from promoters such as Dance Planet and Amnesia House. In April 1992 the club featured on the late-night ITV show The Hitman and Her. In September 1992, the venue became The Edge. It finally closed in February 1994. Virgin Records would release a two volume retrospective compilation The Eclipse Presents Dance 'Til Dawn in 1996 - one mixed by Stu Allan and the other Slipmatt.After The Edge closed, the building was bought by Coventry University and repurposed as a student union entertainment venue and called The Planet. The building was eventually demolished to make way for a car park.
