Holy Trinity Church, Stanton-in-Peak is a Grade II listed parish church in the Church of England in Stanton in Peak, Derbyshire.

Stanton Hall is a privately owned country house at Stanton in Peak in the Derbyshire Peak District, the home of the Davie-Thornhill family. It is a Grade II* listed building. The manor of Stanton was owned for some two centuries by the Bache family, but passed to Thornhill by the 1696 marriage of Mary Pegge, heiress of the estate, to John Thornhill of Thornhill. The Thornhill family and their direct descendants are still in residence. The house has three principal building phases. The oldest part dates from the replacement of the medieval manor house in 1693. Only one single gabled bay at the north of the house now remains of this period. In the 18th century the 1693 house was largely replaced with a two-storey mansion with a seven-bayed east front. In 1799–1800 Bache Thornhill (High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1776) added a substantial south-facing extension, doubling the size of the house. The new two-storey, five-by-five-bay addition was designed in a Palladian style by architect Lindley of Doncaster. The entrance front to the south has the three central bays projecting, with a semicircular Doric porch with balcony over, and all covered by a pediment. Bache Thornhill also created a deer park on the estate and ornamental gardens. His descendant William Pole Thornhill, High Sheriff 1836, died in 1876 and the estate passed to McCreagh-Thornhill relations through his sister Emma Thornhill's daughter Eva Helen Emma Hurlock (the wife of Michael McCreagh). In the 1950s it passed to the Davie-Thornhill family (Eva and Michael's daughter Flora Helen Francis McCreagh-Thornhill married Bertie Davie).

The Andle Stone is a large gritstone boulder on Stanton Moor in Derbyshire. The stone block is 6m long, 4m high and lies within a low, circular, dry stone wall enclosure. It is covered in cup and ring marks. It is also known as the Oundle Stone, the Anvil Stone or the Twopenny Loaf.There is a memorial inscription on the west-facing concave face of the boulder, commemorating the Duke of Wellington, Lieutenant Colonel William Thornhill (2nd son of Bache Thornhill of Stanton Hall) and the battles of Assaye and Waterloo. The inscription reads: The Andle Stone and the nearby Doll Tor stone circle are both on private farmland with no public access rights.

Doll Tor is a stone circle located just to the west of Stanton Moor, near the village of Birchover, Derbyshire in the English East Midlands. Doll Tor is part of a tradition of stone circle construction that spread throughout much of Britain, Ireland, and Brittany during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Ages, over a period between 3300 and 900 BCE. The purpose of such monuments is unknown, although archaeologists speculate that the stones represented supernatural entities for the circles' builders. With a diameter of 7 metres, Doll Tor consists of six upright main stones arranged in a circle. Drystone walling consisting of smaller, flat stones was packed between these orthostats. A stone cairn had been added to the east of the circle, perhaps in a second phase of construction. Excavation has revealed that the cremated human remains of several adults and children were buried both within the circle and around the cairn. These remains were often though not always placed in ceramic urns, and were sometimes deposited alongside other material such as flint tools, small pieces of bronze, and faience beads. The antiquarian Thomas Bateman excavated at the site in 1852, and J. P. Heathcote conducted a second excavation between 1931 and 1933. By the early 21st century, the site was being used for ritual activity by modern Pagans. Unknown persons damaged the site in 1993 and 2020 by moving various stones around; they were subsequently returned to their original locations.

The River Lathkill is a river in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire, England. First recorded in 1280, the name "Lathkill" possibly has Scandinavian roots, the old Norse hlada-kill translating as "narrow valley with a barn".

The Nine Ladies is a stone circle located on Stanton Moor in Derbyshire in the English East Midlands. The Nine Ladies is part of a tradition of stone circle construction that spread throughout much of Britain, Ireland, and Brittany during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Ages, over a period between 3300 and 900 BCE. The purpose of such monuments is unknown, although archaeologists speculate that the stones represented supernatural entities for the circles' builders. Measuring 10.8 metres in diameter, the stone circle consists of ten millstone grit stones, although for several centuries one of these was buried, providing the impression that there had been nine stones. Whether the tenth was part of the original prehistoric design or a later addition is unknown. The earth rises up around the circle, although it is unclear if this was part of a deliberate earthen bank or the unintended result of other activities. It is possible that either a hollow, a standing stone, or an earthen mound was once located inside the ring. A single monolith, the King Stone, stands to the southwest of the circle; it is unknown if this was placed there in deliberate reference to the Nine Ladies circle or whether their proximity is incidental. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Nine Ladies attracted the attention of antiquarians like Hayman Rooke and Thomas Bateman. Archaeological excavation took place in 2000. A wall was built around the circle in the 19th century but removed in 1985. Since the late 20th century, the Nine Ladies has been regarded as a sacred site by modern Pagan groups who conduct rituals there. From 1999 to 2010 the area around the site was home to the Nine Ladies Anti-Quarry Campaign, which sought to prevent a nearby quarrying operation.

Stanton Moor is a small upland area in the Derbyshire Peak District of central northern England, lying between Matlock and Bakewell near the villages of Birchover and Stanton-in-Peak. It is known for its megaliths – particularly the Nine Ladies stone circle – and for its natural, wind-eroded sandstone pillars. The Peak District Boundary Walk runs across the moor.

Harthill Hall was formerly the Manor House of a great 13th century Estate, and the hall is now a Grade II listed building within the civil parish of Harthill, near Bakewell, Derbyshire, England. The Manor itself is the main house of Harthill Hall and was constructed in the 16th century. The site also features the chapel, which was the original 14th-century building on the site. It once comprised a stable block, brewery and an inn. The Manor has retained many original features such as its stone flagged floors, oak-paneled four poster bedrooms, mullioned leaded windows, ancient carved oak doors and beams throughout. The Manor has recently undergone a mammoth horticultural development to restore its once famous knot garden.

Nether Haddon is a sparsely populated village and civil parish in Derbyshire, England. It is immediately downstream along the River Wye from the small town of Bakewell and much of its land is owned by Haddon Hall, a medieval and Tudor building largely rendered in stone. The population of the village is included in the civil parish of Over Haddon.

The Chapel St John Nicholas, Haddon Hall is a Grade I listed Church of England chapel in Haddon Hall, Derbyshire. The chapel's origins are Norman, with later medieval additions. The chapel is noted for its extensive medieval wall paintings featuring scenes from the Bible, and medieval stained glass. Haddon Hall is regarded as one of the best-preserved fortified manor houses in England. It was listed Grade I in 1954. The chapel is the parish church of Nether Haddon, one of the smallest parishes in England.

Haddon Hall is an English country house on the River Wye near Bakewell, Derbyshire, a former seat of the Dukes of Rutland. It is the home of Lord Edward Manners (brother of the incumbent Duke) and his family. In form a medieval manor house, it has been described as "the most complete and most interesting house of [its] period". The origins of the hall are from the 11th century, with additions at various stages between the 13th and the 17th centuries, latterly in the Tudor style. The Vernon family acquired the Manor of Haddon by a 12th-century marriage between Sir Richard de Vernon and Alice Avenell, daughter of William Avenell II. Four centuries later, in 1563, Dorothy Vernon, the daughter and heiress of Sir George Vernon, married John Manners, the second son of Thomas Manners, 1st Earl of Rutland. A legend grew up in the 19th century that Dorothy and Manners eloped. The legend has been made into novels, dramatisations and other works of fiction. She nevertheless inherited the Hall, and their grandson, also John Manners, inherited the Earldom in 1641 from a distant cousin. His son, another John Manners, was made 1st Duke of Rutland in 1703. In the 20th century, another John Manners, 9th Duke of Rutland, made a life's work of restoring the hall.

St Michael's Church, Birchover, also known as Rowtor Chapel, is a Grade II listed parish church in the Church of England in Birchover, Derbyshire. Located in the Peak District National Park, St Michael was built as a privately endowed chapel for the nearby Rowtor Hall.
