Es Pontàs

Es Pontàs is a 20-metre (66 ft) long limestone deep-water soloing (DWS) climbing route on the Es Pontàs sea-arch in Mallorca, Spain. After it was first free soloed in September 2006 by American climber Chris Sharma, it became graded at 9a+ (5.15a) – the world's first-ever DWS route at that grade, and one of the earliest 9a+ graded rock climbs of any type in history. Es Pontàs was credited with promoting the emerging sport of DWS, and further enhancing Sharma's reputation and legacy as a pioneer in rock climbing. Sharma's first ascent was featured in the award-winning 2007 climbing film, King Lines.

Cala Figuera is a district of Santanyí on the island of Majorca, in the Balearic Islands of Spain, around 60 km to the south east of Palma. The traditional town was first mentioned in records in 1306 but it was not until the end of the 19th century that the first houses were built in the area. Cala Figuera encompasses a small traditional fishing community of 577 permanent residences which rises during the tourist season when owners of the many high price holiday villas and apartments descend on the town for the summer months. The town of Cala Figuera stretches from high cliffs to the south of the town to the fishing harbour at the end of a Fjord-like inlet which holds some of the most picturesque traditional buildings in the whole of Majorca, as well as a number of millionaires' mansions overlooking the scenic harbour entrance. Cala Figuera offers no tourist beaches or easily accessible swimming areas, as a result of which it remains largely untouched by mass tourism. Even at the height of tourism in the town there were only a handful of medium-sized hotels, the largest of which (the 3 Star Hotel Cala Figuera) was torn down in 2006 to make way for 84 private apartments. Building started in May 2007. The sheltered port area only caters for a small number of visiting yachts. The harbour is home to a small fleet of local fishing boats which are permitted, by exception, to fish the coastal areas of the Mondragó Natural Parc, a protected wildlife area.

Santanyí (Catalan pronunciation: [səntəˈɲi]) is a municipality on the Spanish island of Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands, situated in the westernmost part of the Mediterranean Sea. This municipality in the southeast of Majorca is home to the towns of Santanyí, Calonge, s'Alqueria Blanca and es Llombards, as well as Cala d'Or, Portopetro, Cap d'es Moro, Cala Figuera, Cala Santanyí, Cala Llombards and Cala de s'Almunia. The municipality encompasses a variety of beaches popular for their scenery. The coast covered by the municipality extends around 35 km (21.8 mi) along the southeast coast of the island. It also holds 172 archaeological sites, evidence of the existence of a productive agriculture and farming tradition since at least the Talaiotic period. Santanyí is also home to a protected natural area known as the Mondragó Natural Parc.

Can Lis is a house the Danish architect Jørn Utzon built for his wife Lis and himself near Portopetro on the Spanish island of Majorca. Completed in 1971, it consists of four separate blocks linked together by walls and courtyards.

Portopetro is a district of Santanyí on the island of Majorca, in the Balearic Islands of Spain, around 62 km from Palma. Portopetro is a small fishing village with a population of approximately 500 and consist of a harbour, small marina and a secluded beach which is adjacent to the harbour. There are a number of restaurants and bars distributed along the harbour's edge serving local and Mediterranean cuisine.

Cala d'Or is a village on the east coast of the island of Mallorca, in the municipality of Santanyí, Balearic Islands, Spain.

Can Feliz is a summer residence the Danish architect Jørn Utzon built for himself near Portopetro on the Spanish island of Mallorca. Completed in 1994 and located a few kilometres inland on a mountain side near S'Horta, it is the second house Utzon built on the island. Like the earlier Can Lis, it is built in the local sandstone and consists of separate blocks for living, eating and sleeping.

Es Fangar is an ecologically managed agricultural endeavour. It is the largest estate in the municipality of Manacor and a wide selection of certified organic, vegan as vegetarian wines are being produced on the premise. A large section of the estate is listed as an ANEI (natural protection area).

The Balearic Islands are an archipelago in the western Mediterranean Sea, near the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. Ibiza, in particular, is known as an international party destination, attracting many of the world's most popular DJs to its nightclubs. The islands' culture and cuisine are similar to those of the rest of Spain but have their own distinctive features.

Hispania Balearica was a Roman province encompassing the Balearic Islands off the east coast of modern Spain. Formerly a part of Hispania Tarraconensis, Balearica gained its autonomy due to its geographic separation and economic independence from the mainland. The province included three major islands: Balearis Major (Majorca), Balearis Minor (Minorca), and Ebusus (Ibiza), and the small island of Colubraria or Ophiusa (Formentera). The islands were grouped as the Gymnesiae—Majorca and Minorca, and the Pityusae—Ibiza and Formentera.

Manacor (Catalan pronunciation: [mənəˈkɔ]) is a town and municipality on the island of Mallorca, part of the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. It is the second largest town in Mallorca, after the capital of Palma. The municipality has tourist areas such as Porto Cristo, site of the famous Caves of Drach, and Cales de Mallorca. Manacor has one of the busiest street markets on the island, held every Monday morning. Manacor is famous for high-quality wood furniture manufacture and artificial pearls.

Vilafranca de Bonany is a small municipality in the district of Pla on Majorca, one of the Balearic Islands in Spain. It is an agricultural town, known for its market stalls along the highway selling spices, fruits, and vegetables as well as tiny doughnuts called bunyols in Majorcan language and buñuelos in Spanish, and also known for the historic Santa Barbara Church built in the 1730s.In the northeast outskirts of the town is a 17th-century monastery called Ermita de Bonany, or Hermitage of Bonany. It was built in thanks for a good harvest; the name "Bonany" literally means "good year".This town borders Felanitx, Porreres, Sant Joan, Petra (birthplace of Junípero Serra) and Manacor.
