Leuze-en-Hainaut

Dupont Brewery (in French: Brasserie Dupont) is a brewery in Tourpes (Leuze-en-Hainaut), in western Hainaut, Belgium. Founded in 1950, it is on a working farm which dates back to 1759 and has significant brewing history. In the 1990s, a bread bakery and cheese-making facility were added. Historically, their best-selling beer was the Moinette Blonde. However, the popularization of the Saison Dupont by their American importer in the 1980s led to great international popularity for this beer, which provides a link to the historic farmhouse ales of the region.

Frasnes-lez-Buissenal is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. In 1864, foresters digging out the roots of a tree near the village unearthed the Frasnes Hoard.

Frasnes-lez-Anvaing (French pronunciation: ​[fʁan lɛ ɑ̃vɛ̃]; Picard: Fraine-lez-Anvégne; Walloon: Fraine-dilé-Anvegn) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. On 1 January 2018 the municipality had 11,740 inhabitants. The total area is 112.44 km², giving a population density of 100 inhabitants per km². The municipality consists of the following districts: Anvaing, Arc-Ainières, Buissenal, Cordes, Dergneau, Forest, Frasnes-lez-Buissenal, Hacquegnies, Herquegies, Montrœul-au-Bois, Moustier, Œudeghien, Saint-Sauveur, and Wattripont.In August 2012, the funeral of Countess Alix de Lannoy, mother of Stéphanie de Lannoy, was held in Frasnes, attended by members of the Luxembourg and Belgian royal families.

Anvaing Castle (French: Château d'Anvaing) or Château de Lannoy is a historic residence in the village of Anvaing in the municipality of Frasnes-lez-Anvaing, province of Hainaut, Wallonia, Belgium. The site of the Château d'Anvaing has been occupied by a castle since the time of the First Crusade. The first known reference dates from 1127. There is little documentation of the buildings on the site however until the reconstructions of 1561 and 1800. The owners were apparently the Roubaix family, judging from the arms on an early part of the building, and later the de Lannoy family whose descendants still own it. Stéphanie de Lannoy, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, grew up in the castle. The castle is chiefly notable as the place in which the Belgian capitulation was signed on 28 May 1940, during the Battle of the Lys. At the time, it served as the headquarters of the German 6th Army. The Belgian plenipotentiaries arrived at the castle at 9:35 am. Shortly afterwards, General Olivier Derousseaux and Commandant Liagre were received by General Walther von Reichenau and Major-General Friedrich Paulus. Discussions took place in the dining room. At 10:00 am, the surrender became effective. The document was read and signed. In celebration, a German officer fired a gunshot into the ceiling which is still present.

Péruwelz (French pronunciation: [peʁwe] or [pɛʁwe]; Picard: Piérwé [pieʀwe]; Walloon: Perwé-e-Hinnot) is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. On 1 January 2018 Péruwelz had a total population of 17,113. The total area is 60.56 km2 which gives a population density of 280 inhabitants per km2. This municipality is more specifically situated in Western Hainaut, also called Picardy Wallonia. Péruwelz is also near France, near the cities of "Condé-sur-l'Escaut", "Vieux Condé", "Hergnies", and is near the forest of Bon-Secours, the location of the castle of (l')Hermitage.

The Sainte-Barbe Clays Formation is a geological formation in Belgium. It is found in localised areas of the northern margin of the Mons Basin, alongside the equivalently aged Hautrage and Baudour Clay Formations. It is Upper Barremian-Lower Aptian in age. It predominantly consists of laminated clay, with some lignite. It is well known for the "Iguanodon sinkhole" locality near Bernissart where many specimens of Iguanodon bernissartensis were described by Louis Dollo in the late 19th century.

Blaton is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Bernissart located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. It was formerly a separate municipality until it merged in 1977.

La Croix de la Grise is a monument atop an 81-metre (266 ft) hill in Havinnes, in the hills near Tournai, Belgium. It was put up in 1961 by Gabriel Dusquene de la Vinelle, leader of the French Resistance at Tournai during World War II.
