Appel Farm Arts & Music Center

The Appel Farm Arts and Music Festival was an annual one-day festival held the first Saturday in June at Appel Farm Arts and Music Center located near Elmer, in Salem County, New Jersey, United States. Appel Farm's signature concert event featured a juried crafts fair, a Children's Village with games and activities, and beer and wine tents. The festival's draw extended beyond New Jersey, attracting audiences of up to 10,000 from the entire mid-Atlantic region and beyond.

The Elmer School District was a community public school district that served students in kindergarten through fourth grade from the Borough of Elmer in Salem County, New Jersey, United States. The district also operated The Learning Center in Elmer School for infants through PreK-4. At a meeting conducted in June 2009, the Elmer Board of Education voted to merge with the Pittsgrove Township School District and would send all of its students as part of the send-receive relationship.For fifth through twelfth grades, public school students attended Pittsgrove Township Middle School (5-8) and then Arthur P. Schalick High School (9-12), in Pittsgrove Township, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Pittsgrove Township School District.As of the 2007–08 school year, the district's one school had an enrollment of 76 students and 6.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.7.The district was classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J. Elmer School District is now merged with Pittsgrove Township School District.

As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 1,347, a decrease of 48 (−3.4%) from the 2010 census count of 1,395, which in turn reflected an increase of 11 (+0.8%) from the 1,384 counted in the 2000 census. Monroeville is an unincorporated community located within portions of Elk Township in Gloucester County and Upper Pittsgrove Township in Salem County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 08343. Monroeville is mostly filled with wooded areas and farms.Most of the residents attend Upper Pittsgrove School if they are in the Upper Pittsgrove Township portion, although some attend Olivet Elementary in Pittsgrove Township. Monroeville was named after Rev. Samuel Y. Monroe, and had also been called Monroe Station for the train depot located in the area. It had contained a cigar factory, a blacksmith shop and a creamery. During the 1880s and 1890s, it was one of several South Jersey destinations settled by Russian Jewish immigrants who were offered transportation by ship from Europe, and were provided with land and a cow in farming colonies.As of the 2010 United States Census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 08343 was 5,030. As of the 2000 census, the population was 4,596.
