Grand Central Airport is a former airport in Glendale, California. Also known as Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT), the airport was an important facility for the growing Los Angeles suburb of Glendale in the 1920s and a key element in the development of United States aviation. The terminal, located at 1310 Air Way, was built in 1928 and still exists, owned since 1997 by The Walt Disney Company as a part of its Grand Central Creative Campus (GC3). Three hangars also remain standing. The location of the single concrete 3,800-foot (1,200 m) runway has been preserved, but is now a public street as the runway was dug up and converted into Grand Central Avenue. The terminal building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 27, 2017.

Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum

The Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum (LALSRM) is a non-profit public-benefit corporation founded in 1956 by live steam enthusiasts for the purpose of educating the public about railroad history and lore, and to promote live steam and scale model railroad technology. The museum is located in Griffith Park in Los Angeles, California and is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday weather permitting. In 1956, all of the model locomotives were steam-powered, hence the name "Live Steamers". Over the years, gasoline-powered models of diesel locomotives and battery-electric locomotives and trolleys have also become popular. The museum operates a 7+1⁄2 in (190.5 mm) gauge miniature railway on which these locomotives pull trains that the public can ride. The museum also has multiple smaller gauge railroad layouts for members usage in 4.75" gauge, 3.5" gauge, elevated 1 gauge, and g-scale. In addition to live steam layouts, the museum also operates a stationary 19th century steam plant every 3rd Sunday with a variety of vintage restored steam appliances. The museum hosts two live steam gatherings per year for visiting live steam hobbyists, the Spring Meet on Memorial Day Weekend in May and the Fall Meet on the first weekend of October. The museum has also hosted a number themed fundraisers and charity events over the years for Halloween, City of Hope, PADRES Contra el Cancer, and many organizations. The museum also hosts exhibits related to Walt Disney and his passion for trains, including a full-size barn once located on the ridable miniature Carolwood Pacific Railroad in his backyard. The Carolwood Society, a separate entity from the Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum, provides volunteers to host the Disney-related exhibits. Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn is referred to by the Carolwood Society as "the only free Disney attraction in the world".

The Statue of Miss American Green Cross in Glendale, California, is a 10-foot-high bronze cast statue (18 feet including the base) to "Miss American Green Cross" located in Brand Park, adjacent to the Brand Library & Art Center at 1601 W. Mountain Street. The statue was created by sculptor Frederick Willard Potter and dedicated in 1928. Verlyn Sumner was the model for the work. The American Green Cross Society was formally created as a successor to the American Reforestation Association on December 3, 1926. The American Green Cross was an organization dedicated to preserving the country's forests, with headquarters based in Glendale. The statue was originally displayed at the Glendale High School campus. It was moved in the 1930s and lost for two decades. In 1954, the statue was discovered in a remote canyon in Brand Park, though its large base was not present. The statue was designated as one of the original Glendale city landmarks in 1977, by which time it had become damaged by vandals, its arms lost, and its cross and logs deteriorated. It was placed in storage at the Brand Park maintenance yard in the early 1980s. It was restored by the city at a cost of $60,000-$65,000 with the assistance of sculptor Ron Pekar. Its base and arms were recreated based on a historic photograph. The renovated statue was dedicated in September 1992 at its new location adjacent to the Brand Library. The statue was added as one of the inaugural entries on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources (GRHR No. 12) in 1997.
