Holmes Chapel

Cranage is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 Official UK Census, the population of the entire civil parish was 1,131 which had risen to 1,184 by the 2011 census.

Cranage Hall is a former country house in the village of Cranage, Cheshire, England. It was built in 1828–29 for Lawrence Armitstead, and designed by Lewis Wyatt. In 1932 a parallel wing was added. Since the hospital closed, it has been used as a hotel and conference centre owned and run by the Principal Hayley hotel group. The building is constructed in red brick with blue brick diapering, and in yellow sandstone. It is roofed in slate. The architectural style is Elizabethan. The building is in two storeys plus a basement, and it has eight bays. The first and fourth bays are in stone; the others are in brick. In front of the sixth and seven bays is a two-storey stone porch with four fluted Doric columns, an entablature with a frieze, and a balcony with an openwork balustrade. Between the third and fourth bays is a slim octagonal tower with an ogee cap and a weathervane. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Cotton is a former civil parish, now in the parish of Holmes Chapel, in the Cheshire East district, in Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Dane. In 1931 the parish had a population of 33.

Twemlow Hall is a country house standing on a former moated site in the parish of Twemlow, Cheshire, England. It dates from the 17th century, and was "much altered" in 1810 for William Bache Booth. It was altered again in 1974. The house is constructed in brick on a stone plinth. It has flush stone quoins and a slate roof. It has two storeys, and a symmetrical entrance front of five bays, three of which are gabled. Above the doorway are the arms of the Booth family. The windows are sashes. The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Three structures associated with the hall forming three sides of a former stable yard are also listed at Grade II.

Twemlow is a civil parish, containing the village of Twemlow Green in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2011 Official UK Census, the population of the entire civil parish was 192. Twemlow lies on the A535 road and the West Coast Mainline, which crosses the River Dane via the Grade-II-listed Twemlow Viaduct, built in brick by G. W. Buck, Engineer to Manchester and Birmingham Railway Company, in 1841.From the 16th to the 18th century, the Booth family were the major landowners. Twemlow is divided by the Dane from the adjoining parishes of Holmes Chapel and Brereton to the south. The parish is also bounded by Goostrey to the north, Lower Withington and Swettenham to the east, and Cranage to the west. The Dane Valley Way long-distance footpath passes through the parish on its route from Buxton to Northwich.

Goostrey Primary School is a 4–11 mixed community primary school in Goostrey, Cheshire, England. Across from St Luke's Church is Goostrey Primary School which was originally a Church of England school. The earliest reference to a school in the church records is in 1640 when it was repaired. It was then next to the north wall of the churchyard where the old vicarage now stands, in a house which was also used as the court house for Goostrey Manor. This appears to have been pulled down in 1703. It may be then that the pupils moved across to the old school house, which is one of the oldest buildings in the village. In 1856 the main part of the present buildings were erected when the old days of a schoolmaster who was also the parish clerk came to an end. The last of these schoolmasters, Jonathon Harding, is buried by the west end of the church; he had held his office for fifty six years. Another chapter was opened in 1977, with the building of a new infants' department across the main road. With this the old connection of church and school has been severed.

Goostrey is an old farming village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is in open countryside, 14 miles (23 km) north-east of Crewe and 12 miles (19 km) west of Macclesfield. Goostrey parish contains the huge Lovell Radio Telescope at the Jodrell Bank Observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage site. According to the 2011 census, the civil parish had a total population of 2,179. Its area of 2,535 acres (10.3 km2) contains 956 houses. It contains 24 listed heritage assets and one scheduled monument (a bowl barrow near Jodrell Bank Farm). The Parish also includes the hamlets of Blackden, Blackden Heath and Jodrell Bank.
