Longford is a small village near the town of Market Drayton, Shropshire, England. It is just off the A53, near to Ternhill and lies in the parish of Moreton Say. Longford is 1.5 miles west of Market Drayton and 1 mile southeast of Moreton Say. A topographical guide to Shropshire published in 2005 describes Longford as a "charming hamlet on a rise in undulating country."The village name is believed to come from a great road that existed in Roman times and was simply known as the Longford. By 1319 it was a Royal road between Bletchley and Hinstock to the south. The village, not on the road, is located just east of Bletchley.

Tern Hill, also known as Ternhill, is a village in Shropshire, England, notable as the location of the former RAF Tern Hill station, which is now operated by the British Army as Clive Barracks. Royal Air Force Tern Hill or RAF Tern Hill (ICAO: EGOE) was a Royal Air Force station at Ternhill in Shropshire, England, near the towns of Newport and Market Drayton. The station closed in 1976, with the technical and administrative site transferring to the British Army to become Borneo Barracks, later renamed Clive Barracks (after Major-General Robert Clive). The airfield part of the site was retained by the RAF and is now known as Tern Hill Airfield. It is predominantly used as a relief landing ground for helicopters of the No 1 Flying Training School, based at RAF Shawbury. The airfield is also home to the RAF's No. 632 Volunteer Gliding Squadron.

Styche Hall is a country house near Market Drayton, Shropshire. It was home to the Clive family and is a Grade II listed building. Styche belonged to the Clive family, and Robert Clive was born in the old timber-framed house in 1725. On his return from India in 1760, he decided to rebuild Styche Hall. He commissioned Sir William Chambers, who carried out the rebuilding between 1762 and 1766. Further alterations were carried out by Joseph Bromfield of Shrewsbury in 1796–98 for his son Hon. Robert Clive (1769–1833). These included bays, and it is possible that the second floor was added at the same time. Further modifications were carried out around 1900. The building is now divided into flats.

Moreton Say is a small village and sparsely populated civil parish in Shropshire, England, near the borders with Cheshire and Staffordshire, just northwest of the town of Market Drayton. It is sometimes spelled Moreton Saye or Moreton Sea. The civil parish, which also covers the hamlets of Longford and Longslow, had a total population of 429 at the 2001 census, increasing to 485 at the 2011 Census. The parish is 5,999 acres (9.373 sq mi; 24.28 km2).There are no shops or services within the village. As a result, the only employment opportunities are at the local primary school, a residential home, and surrounding farms. Robert Clive, 1st Baron Clive, "Clive of India", who is credited with securing India and the wealth that followed for the British crown was born in the parish at Styche Hall and is buried in St Margaret's Church.Every year the village holds a flower and produce show during summer, where villagers and people from the local community can compete in many classes such as best vegetable and fruit, flowers, crafts, and cookery as well as other classes.

Sutton upon Tern is a civil parish in Shropshire, England. Expanded in 1914 after the abolition of the parish Drayton in Hales, Its name in Old English means 'South farm/settlement' on the River Tern. It is situated south of Market Drayton, on the River Tern.
