The Lancaster Commercial Historic District is a registered historic district located in Lancaster, Kentucky that was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It includes the Garrard County Courthouse, built in 1868, which was the third-built courthouse of the area. The district was deemed notable as containing "Lancaster's best contiguous collection of buildings illustrating Lancaster's commercial and architectural development. In a six block area there are Federal log and brick structures, Gothic Revival church, Italianate cast iron store fronts, Queen Anne bay windows, and symmetrical Classical Revival detailing."

The Methodist Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Kentucky is a historic Methodist Episcopal church. Located on Stanford Street, it has also been known as the Lancaster United Methodist Church. It was built in 1896 and added to the National Register in 1984.The Methodist congregation dated back to at least 1815. It acquired this church's property from the Presbyterian church in 1878 and rebuilt the church starting in 1894, with foundation dated 1896. It was deemed notable as one of two remaining brick Gothic Revival churches in Lancaster.

The Old Garrard County Jail is a historic Italianate-style building in Lancaster, Kentucky that was added to the United States National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It is a two-story four bay building. It has been deemed a "Good example of Italianate style."It was used as the county jail from 1873 to 1986. The building is currently used as a museum known as the Garrard County Jail Museum. Visitors can view the cells, a display commemorating USS Garrard, and local historic and military memorabilia.

The Wherritt House, located at 210 Lexington St. in Lancaster, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It is a two-story three-bay house with a gable roof on a stone foundation, built in the early 1800s. The original portion of the house is built of logs and is 30 by 20 feet (9.1 m × 6.1 m) in plan. A brick addition was added in 1830.

Denny Place, at 217 Lexington St. in Lancaster, Kentucky, is a historic house built in 1899. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It is a two-story four bay brick and wood shingle house with a high hipped roof. It has overhanging eaves supported by decorative brackets. It is the only brick Queen Anne style house remaining in Lancaster.It was built for Samuel Cabell Denny. Denny was cashier of the National Bank of Lancaster for 30 years, then president for 10 years. His wife survived him and lived in the house until 1966.

The Billy Ball House, located at 209 Richmond St. in Lancaster, Kentucky, was a historic house built in 1830. Also known as Edna Reynold's House, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.It was built during the 1830s. It is or was a two-story three-bay frame building on a limestone foundation, with a 27 by 18 feet (8.2 m × 5.5 m) log structure underneath its siding. In 1983, it was one of only seven log structures surviving in Lancaster, and it was vacant.The house seems no longer to exist.

The Dunn-Watkins House, located on Danville Rd./Kentucky Route 52 northwest of Lancaster in Garrard County, Kentucky, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.It is a two-story four-bay brick house with some elements of Italianate style, including rounded arch windows. It has a central chimney and a rear ell.It has also been known as Watkins Farm.
