Stabekk Station

Holtekilen Folk High School (Norwegian: Holtekilen folkehøgskole) is Baptist Christian folk high school situated at Stabekk in Bærum, Norway. It has 85 pupils and is owned by the Baptist Union of Norway. It features six lines: music, fashion/design, travel, film/photography, street sociology and ethics/sustainability. It is the folk high school the closest to Oslo. The school was founded as the Baptist Folk High School (Baptistenes folkehøgskole) in 1958. It took its current name in 1979.

Stabekk is a suburban centre in the municipality of Bærum, Norway, west of Oslo. It is predominantly a residential area, with many residents commuting to Oslo. As of 2005 the population was 6,261. Bærum has the highest income per capita and the highest proportion of university-educated individuals in Norway. It is one of Norway's priciest and most fashionable residential areas, leading residents to be frequently stereotyped as snobs in Norwegian popular culture. The area has some of the most conservative populace in Norway Stabekk has a commercial district, roughly divided into Øvre (Upper) Stabekk and Nedre (Lower) Stabekk, separated by a hill. There are a number of retail shops in both these sections as well as a commuter railway station served by Drammenbanen. Stabekk also has a bandy field, a primary school, an upper-secondary school, a cinema, and a tennis club. The campus of the Norwegian Teachers College for Home Economics is on the architectural registry [1]. The football team Stabæk I.F. originates from Stabekk, the name Stabæk being an archaic spelling, but the team has since relocated to Bekkestua. The bandy team of Stabæk I.F. is among the best in Norway. Stabekk Håndball is playing in the top-division in Norwegian Handball - Grundigligaen.

The Norwegian School of Leadership and Theology (Norwegian: Høyskolen for Ledelse og Teologi, HLT) is a theological seminary situated at Stabekk in Bærum, Norway. The institution is jointly owned by the Baptist Union of Norway and Filadelfia Oslo, a Pentecostal congregation.

Norske Skog ASA, formerly Norske Skogindustrier ASA, which translates as Norwegian Forest Industries, is a Norwegian pulp and paper company established in 1962. The company has long been one of the world's leading manufacturers of newsprint and magazine paper. Due to a declining market for publication paper, the company has increasingly focused on other uses of timber and recycled paper, such as packaging. The company is headquartered in Norway and has factories in five countries and an annual production of approximately 2 million tonnes of paper (2020).

Strand Station (Norwegian: Strand holdeplass) was a railway station situated at Strand in Bærum, Norway, on the Drammen Line. The station, located 8.78 kilometers (5.46 mi) from Oslo West Station, was served by Oslo Commuter Rail trains of the Norwegian State Railways. Ramstad opened on 1 November 1931 with two simple side platforms. Ticket sales remained until 1964. The station was one of several closed on 3 July 1973 as part of a service upgrade to speed up local trains on the Drammen Line.

Tandberg was an electronics manufacturer located in Oslo, Norway (production, sales and distribution) and New York City, United States (sales and distribution). The company began in the radio field, but became more widely known for their reel-to-reel tape recorders as well as cassette decks and televisions. The original company went bankrupt in 1978, after a sharp financial downturn. The following year, the company re-formed whilst their data division was split off as Tandberg Data, including the tape recording division, which reduced its scope to data recording. Over time the original Tandberg company became increasingly involved in the teleconferencing systems, and became a leader in that field. The company's main competitor was Polycom and other competitors were HP, Sony, Radvision, VTEL and Aethra.Cisco Systems acquired Tandberg on 19 April 2010. Tandberg Data is now officially a German company, and continues to make computer tape storage systems.

Ringstabekk is a station on the Kolsås Line (line 2) on the Oslo Metro system. Located in Bærum, Norway, it is between Bekkestua and Jar, 10.2 km west of Stortinget. The station opened on 15 August 2011 and replaces the former station with the same name and Tjernsrud as part of the upgrade of the Kolsås Line to metro standard.The station is located at the section of the line where it is shared with the Lilleaker Line used by the Oslo Tramway. However, due to lack of dedicated low-height platforms, trams do not stop at this station.

Myra Station (Norwegian: Myra holdeplass) was a railway station situated at Myra in the neighborhood of Stabekk in Bærum, Norway, on the Drammen Line. The station, located 7.30 kilometers (4.54 mi) from Oslo West Station, was served by Oslo Commuter Rail trains of the Norwegian State Railways. Ramstad opened on 1 November 1931 with two simple side platforms. It was opened as Marstrander bro, but took the name Myra eighteen days later. Ticket sales remained until 1964. The station was one of several closed on 3 July 1973 as part of a service upgrade to speed up local trains on the Drammen Line.

Jar is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Its population (2007) is 4,868.It is served by the Jar rail station on the Kolsås Line.

Tjernsrud was a station on the Kolsås Line (line 6, now Line 3) on the Oslo Metro system. Located in Bærum, Norway, it was between Ringstabekk and Jar, 9.9 km west of Stortinget. It served the neighborhoods of northern Stabekk and southeastern Jar. The station was opened on 1 July 1924 as part of the tramway Bærum Line.Along with most of the line, Tjernsrud was closed for upgrades since 1 July 2006. From August 2007 its service was temporarily provided by tram line 13, as an extension of the service from Jar to Bekkestua. It was decided not to reopen Tjernsrud as a metro station, and as the tram service ended in February 2009, it was demolished soon after. The company responsible for public transport in Oslo, Ruter, has the long-term objective of opening the Kolsås Line for Metro use again.

The station was opened on 1 July 1924 as part of the tramway, Bærum Line.Along with most of the line, Ringstabekk was closed for upgrades since 1 July 2006 and its service temporarily provided by tram line 13, as an extension of the service from Jar to Bekkestua. Ringstabekk was never reopened; instead it was torn down in early 2009, and replaced with the New Ringstabekk Station.

Strand is a district in Bærum, Norway. Mainly a residential area, it is also known as a marine recreational site, owing to its proximity to the Oslofjord.
