Macau Legislative Assembly Building

The Legislative Assembly of the Macau Special Administrative Region (Chinese: 澳門特別行政區立法會; Portuguese: Assembleia Legislativa da Região Administrativa Especial de Macau) is the organ of the legislative branch of Macau. It is a 33-member body comprising 14 directly elected members, 12 indirectly elected members representing functional constituencies and 7 members appointed by the chief executive. It is located at Sé.

Superior Court of Macau Building (Chinese: 終審及中級法院大樓, Portuguese: Edifício dos Tribunais de Segunda e Última Instâncias) is the home of the supreme court of Macau and the second court of appeal. Construction of the court house began in 1997 and was completed in 1999 in time for the handover. The court building is located next to the Macau Legislative Assembly Building in Nam Van Lake area and located within Cathedral Parish. The three storey structure uses various types of stones on a concrete core: bushamered Portuguese limestone polished gray lined marble – arabescato Portuguese black cleft slate Norwegian Cleft Alta QuartziteSteel, glass, copper and wood are other materials used throughout the building. The building was built by local architectural firm Mario Duarte Duque.

The Nam Van Lake (Chinese: 南灣湖; Portuguese: Lago Nam Van) is a man-made lake in Sé, Macau, China. It is one of two man made lakes in Macau. It is located at the southern end of Macau Peninsula. The lake was once part of a bay (Praia Grande Bay), created when the causeway (Avenida Dr Sun Yat Sen) partially closed off the bay. The project to close the lake began in 1991 to attract more development in Macau. Nam Van means South Bay in Chinese. Much of the land southwest of the bay was created from landfill. The Macau Legislative Assembly Building and Superior Court of Macau Building overlook the lake. The lake is bisected by the Ponte Governador Nobre de Carvalho or Macau-Taipa Bridge. There are four man-made islands within Nam Van Lake. Along with Sai Van Lake, the two artificial lakes cover 80 hectares of space. The lake is currently used for several water sports, including sprint kayaking, rowing and dragon boat racing.

The Fort Nossa Senhora do Bom Parto (Forte da Nossa Senhora do Bom Parto in Portuguese) is a former fort of the Portuguese Empire located in Penha Hill in Macau, China. It was among the first forts built by the Portuguese in Macau, erected between 1608 and 1615. It participated in the defense of Macau when the Dutch East India Company attacked city during the Battle of Macau in 1622. It was erected on grounds owned by Augustinian friars. It defended thesouthern coast of Macau together with the Fort São Francisco and the Battery of São Pedro (demolished in the 1930s) and the Inner Harbour together with the Fort São Tiago da Barra. It was rebuilt in 1775 (during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing dynasty) and eight cannon were installed there.Abandoned in 1892, it was subsequently incorporated in the Hotel Bela Vista, and currently part of the official residence of the General Consul of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong.It is currently a classified monument by the government of Macau.

Sai Van Lake (Chinese: 西灣湖; Portuguese: Lago Sai Van) is a man-made lake in Sé, Macau. It is one of two man made lakes in Macau. It is located at the southern tip of Macau Peninsula.The lake was once a bay and closed off by infill. Sai Van means West Bay. Sai Van Lake is separated with Nam Van Lake by Avenida Dr Stanley Ho.

The Macau Customs Service (also known as Customs of Macao Special Administrative Region) is the official customs agency of the Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China. It is responsible for enforcing customs law, preventing smuggling, supervising cross-border trade, and cooperating in regional and international customs matters. The agency operates under the jurisdiction of the Macau Secretariat for Security and is headed by the Director-General of Customs. It maintains checkpoints at Macau’s land borders, maritime ports, and airport, including the Border Gate, Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, Macau International Airport, and the Macau Port Area of Hengqin Port. The current structure of the Macau Customs Service was formally established on 20 December 2001, following the reorganization of border and customs services after the handover of Macau from Portugal to the People’s Republic of China in 1999.

The Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Center (Chinese: 澳門旅遊塔會展娛樂中心; Portuguese: Centro de Convenções e Entretenimento da Torre de Macau), also known as Macau Tower (Chinese: 澳門塔; Jyutping: ou3 mun4*2 taap3; Portuguese: Torre de Macau) , is a tower located in Sé, Macau. The tower measures 338 m (1,109 ft) in height from ground level to the highest point. Its observation deck features views, restaurants, theaters, shopping malls and the Skywalk X, a walking tour around the outer rim. It offers the best view of Macau and in recent years has been used for a variety of adventurous activities. At 233 meters (764 ft), the Macau Tower's tethered "skyjump" and Bungee jump by AJ Hackett from the tower's outer rim, is the highest commercial skyjump in the world, and is also the second highest commercial decelerator descent facility in the world, after Vegas' Stratosphere skyjump at 252 meters (827 ft).The tower was created by Moller Architects and is one of the members of the World Federation of Great Towers. In addition to observation and entertainment, the tower is also used for telecommunications and broadcasting. It and the Grand Lisboa hotel are the most recognizable landmarks of the Macau skyline.

Macau Government House (Chinese: 竹仔室總督官邸; Portuguese: Palacete de Santa Sancha) or Santa Sancha is a building in São Lourenço, Macau. It is the state guest house of the Chief Executive of Macau. It is one of a few historic properties preserving Portuguese influence in Macau. Like many historic buildings it is clad in a pink like colour.

Macau or Macao (English: ; Portuguese: [mɐˈkaw]; Chinese: 澳門, Cantonese: [ōu.mǔːn]), officially the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (MSAR), is a city and special administrative region of China in the western Pearl River Delta by the South China Sea. With a population of about 680,000 and an area of 32.9 km2 (12.7 sq mi), it is the most densely populated region in the world. Formerly a Portuguese colony, the territory of Portuguese Macau was first leased by the Ming dynasty to Portugal as a trading post in 1557. Portugal paid an annual rent and administered the territory under Chinese sovereignty until 1887. Portugal later gained perpetual colonial rights in the Sino-Portuguese Treaty of Peking. The colony remained under Portuguese rule until 1999, when it was transferred to China. Macau is a special administrative region of China, which maintains separate governing and economic systems from those of mainland China under the principle of "one country, two systems". The unique blend of Portuguese and Chinese architecture in the city's historic centre has resulted in its inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005.Originally a sparsely populated collection of coastal islands, Macau, often referred to as the "Las Vegas of the East", since the late 20th century has become a major resort city and a top destination for gambling tourism. Its gambling industry is seven times larger than that of Las Vegas. The city has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world, US$43,770 in 2021, and its GDP per capita by purchasing power parity is one of the highest in the world.It has a very high Human Development Index, as calculated by the Macau government, and the fourth-highest life expectancy in the world. The territory is highly urbanised; two-thirds of the total land area is built on land reclaimed from the sea.

One Central (Chinese: 壹號湖畔) in Sé, Macau is a waterfront mixed-used project developed by Hongkong Land and Shun Tak Holdings and completed in 2009. The 2,350,000 sq ft (218,000 m2) development comprises seven apartment residential towers centred around a 42-storey tower, housing the Mandarin Oriental, Macau with 213 guestrooms, 111 serviced apartments, waterfront bar, restaurant, and spa.
