Morriston East railway station served the community of Morriston, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1871 to 1950 on the Swansea Vale Railway.

Morriston (; Welsh: Treforys [trɛ'vɔrɪs]) is a community in the City and County of Swansea, Wales and falls within the Morriston ward. It is the largest community in Swansea county. Morriston is sometimes referred to as a distinct town (e.g. the local football club is named Morriston Town A.F.C.), however it has never had a town charter, and is now part of the continuous urban sprawl around Swansea, the centre of which lies three miles to the south-west. It is the most populous of Swansea's electoral divisions and is situated close to other communities including Plasmarl, Treboeth, Llansamlet, Cwmrhydyceirw, Clase, Ynystawe and Ynysforgan.

Pentrefelin Halt railway station was a station on the Swansea District line in Wales. It opened on 16 April 1928, and closed on 11 June 1956.

The Swansea Indoor Bowls Stadium is an indoor bowls stadium based in Plasmarl, Swansea, Wales. It was opened in early 2008 and was constructed at a cost of £1.5m replacing the indoor bowling facilities that had been offered at Swansea Leisure Centre. The stadium has six lanes and is capable of holding international events.Swansea Bowls Stadium is home to the Swansea Indoor Bowling Club. The stadium hosted the World Indoor Singles and Mixed Pairs Championship from 16 April to 20 April 2008. It will host the Gravelles Welsh International Open Bowls Championships 2009, part of the World Bowls Tour 2008/2009, from 31 January to 6 February 2009.

Morriston Town Football Club is an amateur association football team based in Morriston, Swansea, Wales. The club plays in the Ardal Leagues South West, which is tier three of the Welsh football pyramid.

Bishop Vaughan Catholic School is a coeducational Catholic secondary school in the Morriston area of Swansea. It is under the remit of the Diocese of Menevia. The school was founded in 1966 by people of Swansea. It comprises a number of buildings: the main teaching block, a four-storey block, craft block, music suite, dining areas and gymnasiums.

Morriston ((Welsh:Treforys or Treforus)) is an electoral ward in Swansea, Wales. It is coterminous with the Morriston community. Morriston is one of two five member wards in the City and County of Swansea local authority area. In population terms, it is the largest ward in the Welsh Assembly constituency of Swansea East and it is the largest ward the City and County of Swansea.The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following geographical areas: Caemawr, Cwmrhydyceirw, Graig Felen, Morriston, Parc Gwernfadog, Pant-lasau, Ynysforgan and Ynystawe, in the parliamentary constituency of Swansea East. The ward is bounded by the wards of Llansamlet and Clydach to the east; Bonymaen and Landore to the south; Mynydd-Bach and Llangyfelach to the west; and Mawr to the north. The ward is broken down into a number of polling districts by the local council. These are: Parc-y-Duc, Glantawe, Pentrepoeth, Tircanol, Caemawr, Cwmrhydyceirw East, Cwmrhydyceirw West, Parc Gwernfadog and Ynystawe.

Swansea East (Welsh: Dwyrain Abertawe) is a constituency of the Senedd. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. It is one of seven constituencies in the South Wales West electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to seven constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Swansea East (Welsh: Dwyrain Abertawe) is a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom by Carolyn Harris of the Labour Party.The constituency is set to be abolished as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election. It's wards are to be split between Neath and Swansea East, and Swansea West.

Plasmarl, or Plas-Marl, is a suburban district and historically a village of the City and County of Swansea, Wales. It falls within the old Copper Quarter of Landore electoral ward.

The Lower Swansea valley (Welsh: Cwm Tawe Isaf) is the lower half of the valley of the River Tawe in south Wales. It runs from approximately the level of Clydach down to Swansea docks, where it opens into Swansea Bay and the Bristol Channel. This relatively small area was a focus of industrial innovation and invention during the Industrial Revolution, leading to a transformation of the landscape and a rapid rise in the population and economy of Swansea. Today the area is in the final stages of regeneration. Modern Industrial units and housing has replaced the pollution of the metallurgical industry and the area is now the home of Championship football club Swansea City A.F.C. and Welsh Rugby Union region Ospreys. Railway lines which criss-crossed the valley have now been replaced by pleasant walking and cycling paths and the River Tawe now hosts canoeists instead of copper barges.
