The Cornell—Randall—Bailey Roadhouse (also known as the Log Gift and Curtain Shoppe) is an historic building located at 2737 Hartford Avenue (United States Route 6) in western Johnston, Rhode Island. The oldest portion of this 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure was built in the late 18th century by Samuel Steere, and was substantially enlarged for use as a tavern in 1821 by Daniel Cornell. Business at the tavern declined when railroads rendered the highway less important, and the building was adapted for use as a bordello and gambling house in the early 20th century. In the 1970s it was converted for use as a gift shop.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 10, 1984.

The Brown Avenue Historic District is a rural historic district in Johnston, Rhode Island, USA. The district encompasses a rural and agricultural landscape centered on a 1-mile (1.6 km) stretch in the midsection of Brown Avenue, which runs between Hartford Avenue (United States Route 6) and Greenville Avenue (Rhode Island Route 5). There are five farmsteads, with the Dame Farmstead at its center, whose farmhouses date to the late 18th century. A number of these farms are no longer in production, and part of the district is in Snake Den State Park.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Snake Den State Park is a public recreation area occupying 1,000 acres (400 ha) on U.S. Route 6 in the town of Johnston, Providence County, Rhode Island. The park includes a working farm, Dame Farm, and is largely undeveloped with limited recreational opportunities. The Rhode Island Division of Parks and Recreation is headquartered in the former, 22-room Palazzi family farmhouse. The park is named for a canyon-like fissure on the park grounds.

The Central Landfill is a 154-acre (62 ha) waste disposal site in Johnston, Rhode Island. It is the state's only landfill and receives more than 90% of the state's solid waste. It has been on the Environmental Protection Agency's Superfund National Priorities List since 1986. The site is owned and operated by the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation (RIRRC).

The Smithville Seminary was a Freewill Baptist institution established in 1839 on what is now Institute Lane in Smithville-North Scituate, Rhode Island. Renamed the Lapham Institute in 1863, it closed in 1876. The site was then used as the campus of the Pentecostal Collegiate Institute and later the Watchman Institute, and is now the Scituate Commons apartments. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Pentecostal Collegiate Institute (Rhode Island) was a co-educational interdenominational collegiate institute located at North Scituate, Rhode Island from September 1902 to 1918. PCI was incorporated in Rhode Island and operated by its own board in association with the Association of Pentecostal Churches of America (until October 1907). The Church of the Nazarene operated it after 1915. It is considered a predecessor to Eastern Nazarene College.

North Scituate is a village in the town of Scituate, Rhode Island. The Old Congregational Church is an historic church building on Greenville Road (Rhode Island Route 116) in the Smithville-North Scituate village of Scituate, Rhode Island. The wood-frame shingled church was designed by Clark Sayles (a protege of noted church-builder Elias Carter) and complete in 1831. The church was regularly used in the 19th century, but attendance declined in the later years, and it was only occasional used until 1940, when it was given to the town. In 1974, the building was listed on National Register of Historic Places.The Scituate Art Festival has been held on the church grounds every autumn since 1967. The art festival was founded to raise funds to restore the church interior.

The Smithfield Exchange Bank (also known as the Resolved Waterman Tavern or Greenville Tavern), built in 1822, is located on Putnam Pike in the Greenville area of Smithfield, Rhode Island.

Seagrave Memorial Observatory is an astronomical observatory located in North Scituate, Rhode Island. It is named after astronomer Frank Evens Seagrave and is wholly owned and operated by Skyscrapers, Inc. The main instrument is an 8¼-inch Alvan Clark refracting telescope which was given to Frank Evens Seagrave for his 16th birthday in 1876, however the telescope took two years to build, so he did not receive it until 1878. The telescope and Seagrave Observatory (as the private observatory was then known) were originally at 119 Benefit Street in Providence. At the time it was the third largest telescope in New England. The telescope was moved to North Scituate in October 1914 when the construction of the current observatory was completed. The observatory was acquired by the Skycrapers in 1936 after the death of Seagrave.
