Bern Stöckacker railway station (German: Bahnhof Bern Stöckacker) is a railway station in the municipality of Bern, in the Swiss canton of Bern. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Bern–Neuchâtel line of BLS AG.

The Circuit Bremgarten was a 7.280 km (4.524 mi) motorsport race track in Bern, Switzerland which formerly hosted the Swiss Grand Prix from 1933 to 1954 (Formula One, 1947 to 1954) and the Swiss motorcycle Grand Prix in 1949 and from 1951 until 1954. Bremgarten was built as a motorcycle racing track in 1931 in the Bremgartenwald (Bremgarten forest) in the north of Bern. The circuit itself had no true straight, instead being a collection of high-speed corners. It hosted its first automobile race in 1934, which claimed the life of driver Hugh Hamilton. In 1948 it claimed the life of Italian racer Achille Varzi. From the outset, Bremgarten's tree-lined roads, often poor light conditions and changes in road surface made for what was acknowledged to be a very dangerous circuit, especially in the wet. Bremgarten has not hosted an official motorsport event since 1955, when spectator racing sports, with the exception of hillclimbing and rallying, were banned in Switzerland in reaction to the 1955 Le Mans disaster. Although there was a 1982 Swiss Grand Prix, it took place in Dijon, France. On June 6, 2007 an amendment to lift the ban was passed by the lower house of the Swiss parliament, 97 in favour and 77 opposed. The legislation failed to pass the upper house, and was withdrawn in 2009 after being rejected twice.

Bern Europaplatz railway station is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Bern and city of Bern that is a major public transport interchange. The station has two levels and groups of platforms, with the upper one on the SBB-owned Olten to Lausanne line and the lower one on the BLS-owned Gürbetal line. Until 2014, the two groups of platforms were regarded as separate stations, known as Ausserholligen SBB and Ausserholligen GBS respectively, but in that year they were both renamed after the adjacent Zentrum Europaplatz and are now shown as a single station on public transport maps.The upper group of platforms form an intermediate stop on Bern S-Bahn lines S1, between Bern and Fribourg, and S2, between Bern and Laupen. The lower level group of platforms form an intermediate stop on S-Bahn lines S3 and S31, between Bern and Belp, and S6, between Bern and Schwarzenburg (using the Bern–Schwarzenburg line). All five lines operate half-hourly for most of the day, providing ten trains per hour between Europaplatz and Bern, and all are operated by BLS.The public transport interchange at Europaplatz also includes the Europaplatz Bahnhof stop on Bern tramway routes 7 and 8 and Bernmobil bus route 31. The A12 motorway passes over both stations and the interchange on a viaduct.

The Halen Estate (Siedlung Halen) is a housing development near Berne, Switzerland. It was designed and built by the Atelier 5 architectural partnership from 1957 to 1961. Located in a wooded area north of the city, the development is an important example of 20th century Modernist architecture (Structuralism), and as such is listed on the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites.

The Inselspital, also named the University Hospital of Bern (German: Universitätsspital Bern), located in Bern, is one of the five university hospitals of Switzerland. It is associated with the University of Bern. The hospital is operated by a charitable foundation established in 1354 through the will of Anna Seiler, a wealthy Bernese. It acquired its current name in 1531 when it occupied the buildings of the "St. Michaels Insel" convent. From 1841 on, it has participated in the training of medical students.The hospital moved to its present location in 1885. Many of the historic buildings were demolished from 1958 to 1978 and replaced by modern infrastructure, including a high-rise patient building. As of 2016, the hospital employs a staff of 7,255 and provides care for 250,000 patients each year. It also provides practical training to 600 medical students and over 1,000 other healthcare professionals.The prominent physicians who have practiced in the Inselspital include Emil Theodor Kocher, the 1909 Nobel laureate.

Köniz (German pronunciation: [ˈkøːnɪt͡s], Alemannic German pronunciation: [χʏnɪt͡s]) is a statistical town, however considers itself still as a village, and a municipality in the Bern-Mittelland administrative district right on the southern border to Bern in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. The municipality of Köniz as a single settlement would belong to the 15 most populous towns in Switzerland. It is also part of the larger agglomeration of Bern of about 400,000 inhabitants. The official language of Köniz is (the Swiss variety of Standard) German, but the main spoken language is the local variant of the Alemannic Swiss German dialect.

The "Gymnasium Neufeld" in Bern is a state grammar-school of the canton "Bern". An instruction course leads to the grammar-school general qualification for university entrance. This school is popular for its concerts. The "Gymnasium Kirchenfeld" (another grammar school in Bern) wasn't large enough to receive that much children and young adults. The government had to build up a new school. The project begun 1962 and ended in 1965. The architect were Hans Andres and Felix Wyler. The building was built up in the "Laenggasse Quartier" next to the forest named "Bremgartenwald". It was dedicated in 1966.
