Wenberg County Park, formerly Wenberg State Park, is a 46-acre (18.6 ha) park located on the shores of Lake Goodwin in the community of Lake Goodwin, Washington. The park is maintained by Snohomish County Parks and Recreation and includes a public beach for swimming, a boat launch, cabins, picnic shelters, and campgrounds. It is located at the western terminus of State Route 531. The county charges $10 for some activities.The park is named for East Stanwood postmaster Marie Louise Wenberg, who led a fundraising effort that raised $1,500 to purchase 20 acres (8.1 ha) of waterfront property from C. D. Hillman for a public park. The campaign was spurred by reports that a golf course was proposed to be constructed at the property by businessmen from Everett. Wenberg Park was dedicated in 1939 and remained under county ownership until it was acquired by the state government in 1947. It remained a Washington state park until July 16, 2009, when the state transferred the park back to Snohomish County in an effort to keep it open while addressing a state budget crisis. The park underwent $3 million in renovations in 2018 to improve access to the beach and boat launch area.

Tulalip Tribes

The Tulalip Tribes of Washington (, Lushootseed: dxʷlilap), formerly known as the Tulalip Tribes of the Tulalip Reservation, is a federally recognized tribe of Duwamish, Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skagit, Suiattle, Samish, and Stillaguamish people. They are South and Central Coast Salish peoples of indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. Their tribes are located in the mid-Puget Sound region of Washington. Tulalip leader John McCoy was a member of the Washington State Legislature from 2003 to 2020. For a time he served as the only Native American in the legislature, at other times being joined by Jeff Morris, an Alaskan Native (Tsimpshian) who was elected in 1996 with two other Alaskan Natives, Dino Rossi (Tlingit) and Jim Dunn (Aleut). In 2002 the Tulalip Tribes also exerted political power by allying with other tribes across the state and defeating a state Supreme Court candidate "with a long track record of opposing tribal interests."

Lakewood High School (Washington)

Lakewood High School (commonly known as Lakewood or LHS) is a public secondary school in what was Arlington, but annexed to become an addition of Marysville, Washington, serving students in grades 9–12. The school is the only secondary school in the Lakewood School District, serving the Lake Goodwin, North Lakewood, and Smokey Point areas. The original high school was built in 1983 and expanded in later years to accommodate a growing school population. A $66.8 million bond measure was passed in April 2014 to design and build a new high school on the same campus, with a capacity of 825 students. Construction began in May 2016. The new two-story, 160,000 square feet (15,000 m2) building opened in September 2017 while demolition of the old building was still in progress.
