West End, St. Louis

The St. Louis Jane Doe is an unidentified girl who was found murdered in the basement of an abandoned apartment building on February 28, 1983 in St. Louis, Missouri. She has also been nicknamed "Hope", "Precious Hope", and the "Little Jane Doe." The victim was estimated to be between eight and eleven when she was murdered and is believed to have been killed via strangulation. She was raped and decapitated. The brutality of the crime has led to national attention. The head of the Jane Doe has never been located, hindering dental examination and the possibility of a traditional facial reconstruction.

The Emmanuel DeHodiamont House is a house located at 951 Maple Place in the West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The house was originally constructed about 1830 by local farmer Emmanuel DeHodiamont and was modified into the Gothic Revival style about 1875. It shares the status of being the oldest extant residence in the city of St. Louis with the Lewis Bissell House, and it is the oldest privately owned building in St. Louis. It was listed as a St. Louis Landmark in 1966 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 4, 2002.

The Hamilton Place Historic District is a 43-acre (17 ha) historic district in St. Louis, Missouri that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. It includes 160 contributing buildings, including along the 5900-6000 blocks of Enright, Cates, and Clemens. It includes Late Victorian architecture and Late 19th and 20th Century Revivals architecture, and it includes work by architects Barnett, Haynes & Barnett.The district included 160 contributing resources and 13 non-contributing buildings on portions of six city blocks near the western edge of St. Louis. It included 105 single-family residences, 12 apartment buildings or tenements, 11 two- or four-family flats, 31 garages/stables, and one non-residential building, an auto repair shop.

KXBS (95.5 FM) is a non-commercial, listener-supported radio station licensed to Bethalto, Illinois, and serving Greater St. Louis. It is owned by Gateway Creative Broadcasting and broadcasts a Christian Rhythmic Contemporary radio format known as "Boost 95.5." The radio studios for KXBS and sister station KLJY are in Des Peres. KXBS has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 10,500 watts. The transmitter is on DeBaliviere Avenue in St. Louis, just north of Forest Park.

Crossroads College Preparatory School is a college preparatory school in St. Louis, Missouri, United States founded by St. Louis native Arthur Lieber in 1974. It is located near Forest Park on the western edge of St. Louis. There is a MetroLink mass transit station within walking distance. As of 2023, there are 33 students enrolled in the seventh and eighth grades and 85 in the high school. In 2023, the school offers individualized tuition based on each family’s ability to pay. Delmar Loop station is a St. Louis MetroLink station. This station is adjacent to the Delmar Loop entertainment district that straddles St. Louis and St. Louis County. Nearby attractions include the restored Tivoli Theater as well as the Pageant concert venue along with the numerous restaurants and shops that line Delmar Boulevard. Directly adjacent to the stop is the North Campus of Washington University in St. Louis. The Loop Trolley, a seasonally operated heritage streetcar service that travels along Delmar Boulevard and DeBaliviere Avenue, has a stop adjacent to the entrance of the MetroLink station.

Delmar Boulevard station, also known as Delmar station, is a former railroad station on Delmar Boulevard in the West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The Wabash Railroad opened it in 1929 as part of grade separation project which raised Delmar Boulevard over its tracks. Delmar Boulevard was one of several Wabash branch stations in St. Louis, but had special importance as a transfer station for intercity passengers. The Norfolk and Western Railway, successor to the Wabash, closed the station in 1970. The MetroLink's Red Line was built over the former Wabash right-of-way and passes underneath the station. Metrolink built a new station, Delmar Loop, below the old building but does not use the structure.

Hamilton Heights is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The neighborhood is bounded by Dr. Martin Luther King Drive (co-signed with Missouri Route 180) on the Northeast, the city limits (border with Wellston, Missouri) on the Northwest, Page Avenue on the South, and Union Boulevard on the East.

The A & P Food Stores Building in St. Louis, Missouri, is historically significant in part because it is rare in Saint Louis as a small commercial building having an Art Deco building design. Most others were either residential or larger commercial buildings. It also serves as an example of the work of Saum Architects, a not-well-known architectural firm of Saint Louis in the early 1900s. And it is also significant as having been one of the first supermarkets in St. Louis that was developed to serve automobile-owning customers, providing parking and convenient "one-stop shopping".: 13 There were as many as 84 A & P stores in the city, 20 being supermarkets and the others being cash and carry stores; this building is one of the last surviving of these, and it was among those which kept operating up until A & P entirely left the city in 1979–1980.: 18 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Visitation Park is a neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. The neighborhood is defined by Maple Avenue on the North, Delmar Boulevard on the South, Union Boulevard on the East, and Belt Avenue on the West. Visitation Park is a small neighborhood nestled southeast of the West End neighborhood, just north of DeBaliviere Place.The Visitation Park neighborhood is named for the Visitation Academy of St. Louis, which was located at the southeast corner of Cabanne Avenue and Belt Avenue from 1892 to 1962. The Visitation Academy was razed in 1962 and the site became Visitation Park. In 1989, the park was renamed Ivory Perry Park.

Skinker DeBaliviere ( duh-BAH-lih-ver) is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, located directly north of Forest Park. In addition to the park, its boundaries are Delmar Boulevard to the north, DeBaliviere Avenue to the east, and the western city limits near Skinker Boulevard. It is home to The Pageant, Pin-up Bowl, and all the other establishments of the Delmar Loop east of University City. It also includes the west end of the Forest Park – DeBaliviere and the entire Skinker MetroLink stations. The Delmar Loop station is just outside of its north boundary. In 1978, the neighborhood was designated a Local Historic District by the City of St. Louis, and the private subdivision of Parkview is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
