Glanford Brigg Power Station

The Buttercross, also known as Brigg Town Hall, is a municipal building in the Market Place in Brigg, Lincolnshire, England. The structure, which is used as a tourist information centre and as an events venue, is a Grade II listed building.

Newstead-on-Ancholme Priory was a priory in Lincolnshire, England. The Gilbertine priory of Holy Trinity, Newstead-on-Ancholme, was founded for Gilbertine canons by King Henry II in 1171. The endowment was small, and the number of canons and lay brothers was limited by Saint Gilbert to thirteen. The priory was surrendered in 1538, by the prior, Robert Hobson, and five canons. Newstead Priory farmhouse, a grade I listed building was built on the site, and one room in the farmhouse is a vaulted room of the Gibertine priory, possibly part of the refectory.

The Vale Academy is a co-educational secondary school with academy status on Atherton Way in the market town of Brigg, North Lincolnshire, England. The Vale Academy is one of two schools in Brigg, the other being Sir John Nelthorpe School, together they operate as the Brigg Sixth Form College.

Hibaldstow is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 2,433. It is situated on the B1206 road, 4 miles (6.4 km) south from Brigg and the M180. The site of the deserted medieval village of Gainsthorpe is nearby.

Scawby railway station, also known as Scawby and Hibaldstow railway station, was a station in Scawby, Lincolnshire. It was located on the line between Gainsborough and Grimsby. The station opened in 1849 and closed in 1968 but the line still remains open but calling at fewer stations than it once did.

Scawby is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 2 miles (3 km) south-west from Brigg, and just east from the A15 road, and south from the M180 motorway. According to the 2001 Census, Scawby population (including Sturton) was 2,277, reducing slightly to 2,243 at the 2011 census.The village is noted for the Nelthorpe family who owned the manor and lived at Scawby Hall. Sir John Nelthorpe founded Brigg Grammar School in 1669. Sturton was formerly a separate hamlet a little to the south of Scawby, but development of the land between the two has incorporated the settlement into the main village. Scawby Brook, situated to the east just outside Brigg, is also partly within the parish. Also in the parish, to the west of the main village, is the roadside hamlet of Greetwell on the B1398 road.

Sturton is a village in the civil parish of Scawby, North Lincolnshire, England. It lies 2.5 miles (4.0 km) south-west from Brigg, 0.5 miles (0.8 km) south from Scawby, to which it is conjoined, and 1 mile (1.6 km) south from the M180 on the B1207. During the 19th century Kelly's Directory noted that Sturton was a hamlet in the parish of Scawby-cum-Sturton, which also included the hamlet of Scawby Brook, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the north-east. The railway station for Sturton and Scawby on the Gainsborough to Brigg line lies within Sturton, 0.75 miles (1.2 km) to the south. The station and line was part of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. Sturton has three Grade II listed farmhouses: c.1849 Station Farmhouse, late 18th-century Home Farmhouse, and late 18th-century Manor Farmhouse.

Cadney is a village and civil parish in the North Lincolnshire district, in the county of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the parish at the 2011 census was 459. It is situated 3 miles (5 km) south from the town of Brigg. Cadney's Grade I listed Anglican church is dedicated to All Saints. It is chiefly Norman, with an Early English tower and chancel, and a Norman font. The parish was created on 1 April 1936 through the abolition of Cadney cum Howsham and Newstead. The parish boundary is defined by water on all sides, by the Old River Ancholme, Kettleby Beck and North Kelsey Beck. Within the parish, at Newstead on the River Ancholme, lies the site of the Gilbertine Holy Trinity Priory, founded by Henry II in 1171, and endowed with the island of Ancholme, and lands around Cadney and Hardwick. The priory was limited to 13 canons and lay brothers. It was surrendered in 1538 under the act of suppression. On the site of the priory stands Newstead Priory Farmhouse, which retains the remains of a Norman vaulted room and a Perpendicular window. The farm is Grade I listed.

Hibaldstow Bridge is an iron arch bridge that spans the River Ancholme, near the villages of Hibaldstow, in North Lincolnshire, and North Kelsey, in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire. A plaque mounted in the centre of the bridge reads "Erected By JTB Porter & Co. 1889 Lincoln". The bridge is a British Listed Building, and was Grade II listed on 6 January 1987. Its Historic England ID is 166019.The last part of the single-track road leading to the bridge from North Kelsey, known as Starham Road, is not asphalted and can be dangerous during adverse weather conditions as it runs on top of the embankment. It is, in places, badly potholed. On maps, the riverside stretch of road is either not marked, or shown as being of minimal quality. The bridge was used as the site to burn a Ford Transit Van involved in the burglary of an ATM in the second half of 2019. The bridge is now unusable as there are three large holes burnt into it.

Royal Air Force Hibaldstow or more simply RAF Hibaldstow is a former Royal Air Force satellite station located south of Hibaldstow in Lincolnshire and 8.3 miles (13.4 km) south east of Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, England. The airfield was built with greater things in mind, but it only became a satellite airfield for RAF Kirton-in-Lindsey in 1941. When the runways were constructed, some of the hardcore was made from material taken from demolished bungalows on the site.

Broughton is a small town and civil parish situated on the Roman Ermine Street, in the North Lincolnshire district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 5,726. In 2021, the population was 5,434. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) north-west from the town of Brigg. The hamlets of Wressle, Castlethorpe, and part of Scawby Brook lie within the parish boundaries. A settlement existed at Broughton in the Neolithic Stone Age (New Stone Age). Stone tools have been found particularly on the commons near Wressle. Pottery was discovered at a house on Ermine Street in 1956, thought to date back to the Bronze Age period. There were burials discovered around 1850 in the commons to the north-east of Broughton. Broughton's St Mary's Church is a Grade I listed building, with a very rare Saxon staircase tower, one of four in the country. The others are at Brixworth, Brigstock and Hough-on-the-Hill. The church is thought to date to the 11th century with major alterations in the 12th, 14th and 17th centuries. Gokewell Priory was founded nearby in the late 12th century to house a community of nuns. The Baronetcy of Broughton was created 11 December 1660 for Sir Edmund Anderson and became extinct on the death of the 9th Baron, Sir Charles Henry John Anderson, 8 October 1891. To the west and north, Broughton has extensive woodlands that stretch toward Dragonby, Scunthorpe and Appleby. The south of the woods sits one of the few 4-star hotels in the area, and which has a 27-hole golf course (formerly Forest Pines, now Doubletree by Hilton – though still commonly known as Forest Pines). Though considered by many to be a village, it became a town in 1974, although it still has a village hall. At the 2011 census, the size of Broughton parish was slightly larger than its neighbour Brigg, due to housing developments at the edge of the parish in Scawby Brook.

Clapgate Pits is a disused quarry near Broughton, Lincolnshire. This 1.0 ha (2.5 acres) site has been managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust since 1996. It provides an environment for several plants which are rare in Lincolnshire: pale St John's-Wort, Squinancywort and Wall Germander. Until 1969 it was the most northerly site in Britain for Pasqueflower but these plants were apparently dug up by vandals.
