Wilshire Boulevard Temple

St. Basil Catholic Church is a Catholic Church parish of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Serving the archdiocese's Our Lady of the Angels Pastoral Region, the Roman Rite parish is located at 3611 Wilshire Boulevard in the Wilshire district of Los Angeles, California. The parish church building was built from 1967 to 1969 and dedicated in 1969. In 1969 and 1970, the parish was the site of pickets and demonstrations by Chicano Movement protesters who objected to the archdiocese's expenditure of substantial funds on construction of the new parish rather than on the poor and social justice programs.

Liberty Park is a private park in Los Angeles, CA. It is located on Wilshire Boulevard in the Koreatown Neighborhood. It is now considered a L.A. City Cultural Monument.

The Pellissier Building and adjoining Wiltern Theatre is a 12-story, 155-foot (47 m) Art Deco landmark at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue in Los Angeles, California. The entire complex is commonly referred to as the Wiltern Center. Clad in a blue-green glazed architectural terra-cotta tile and situated diagonal to the street corner, the complex is considered one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the United States. The Wiltern building is owned privately, and the Wiltern Theatre is operated by Live Nation's Los Angeles division.

SM Entertainment Square, also called SM Square, is the intersection of 6th Street and Oxford Avenue in the Koreatown district of Los Angeles. It was designated by Los Angeles City Council on October 28, 2020, in honor of SM Entertainment and its founder Lee Soo-man to recognize their achievement in the global music market by leading the K-pop industry.

Koreatown (Korean: 코리아타운) is a neighborhood in central Los Angeles, California, centered near Eighth Street and Irolo Street.Koreans began immigrating in larger numbers in the 1960s and found housing in the Mid-Wilshire area. Many opened businesses as they found rent and tolerance toward the growing Korean population. Many of the historic Art deco buildings with terra cotta façades have been preserved because the buildings remained economically viable for the new businesses.Despite the name evoking a traditional ethnic enclave, the community is complex and has an impact on areas outside the traditional boundaries. While the neighborhood culture was historically oriented to the Korean immigrant population, Korean business owners are creating stronger ties to the Latino community in Koreatown. The community is highly diverse ethnically, with half the residents being Latino and a third being Asian. Two-thirds of the residents were born outside of the United States, a high figure compared to the rest of the city.

The Hotel Normandie is a historic boutique hotel within what is now Koreatown, Los Angeles. It is located at 605 S. Normandie Ave. It has 92 guest rooms and suites. It was built in 1926 in the Wilshire district in the Renaissance Revival style and was designed by Walker & Eisen, the firm of Los Angeles architects Percy A. Eisen and Albert R. Walker.Author Malcolm Lowry wrote a significant portion of the novel Under the Volcano while residing at the hotel. Under the Volcano is now listed at #11 on Modern Library's list of 100 Best Novels.The hotel was listed as Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #1013 in 2012 by the Cultural Heritage Commission City of Los Angeles.

The South Serrano Avenue Historic District is a historic district of early 20th Century homes along the 400 block of South Serrano Avenue in the Mid-City section of Los Angeles, California. The block of well-preserved homes was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. It is the sole intact block of single family homes in an area having many large apartment buildings.The listing included 17 houses counted as contributing buildings, one non-contributing residence, and two vacant lots. All of the houses were built during the period from 1912 to 1921.Several of the buildings were designed by architect Frank M. Tyler: William & Mary Glascock House (1914), 451 S. Serrano Avenue Ellen and John Bolieu House (194), 414 S. Serrano Avenue Jose & Concepcion A. de Samaniego House (1914), 420 S. Serrano AvenueArchitect Harry Hayden Whiteley, who had worked in Tyler's office from 1907 to 1910, also designed some works in the district, and architect Henry J. Knauer designed one: the house at 403 S. Serrano Avenue.

Wilshire/Western station is an underground rapid transit (known locally as a subway) station on the D Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located under Wilshire Boulevard at Western Avenue, after which the station is named, in the Mid-Wilshire and Koreatown districts of Los Angeles. It is the current western terminus of the D Line. Prior plans called for the D Line to extend to Fairfax Avenue, then turn north into the San Fernando Valley but due to political disagreements, the line currently terminates here and the B Line travels to the Valley via Vermont Avenue. Metro is now currently constructing the Purple Line Extension to extend the D Line west from this station to Westwood/VA Hospital station in Westwood, near UCLA.The two artwork installations at Wilshire/Western are called "People Coming", and the other "People Going". They are large murals at each end of the station. The artist responsible is Richard Wyatt, a Lynwood native. The courtyard features a plaque commemorating former California Assemblymember Alfred H. Song and is officially named "Wilshire/Western/Alfred Hoyun Song station," although the full name is not used on any station signs.

Cinema Makeup School is a private, for-profit makeup training school located in Los Angeles. The school was founded in 1993. Specialties include beauty make-up for film and television as well as fashion and editorial purposes, hairstyling, airbrushing and bodypainting, character make-up, special make-up effects and prosthetics, creature maquette sculpture and digital makeup effects design, along with Advanced Lab Techniques and Advanced Beauty Techniques. Several graduates of the school have appeared as contestants on Syfy's reality game show Face Off.

Oasis Church is a Christian church in Los Angeles, California. Its building is listed as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument under the name Wilshire Christian Church Building.

The Getty Building is a 22-storey former office tower in Los Angeles, California. The building was a project of J. Paul Getty and upon completion served as the head office of Getty Oil. The architect for the structure was Claud Beelman whose design was in a New Formalist mode. Construction began on March 14, 1961, and the building opened officially on April 22, 1963. After sitting vacant for a decade, the building underwent a residential conversion and reopened in 2007 as a condominium called the Mercury.
