Elk Rock Gardens of the Bishop's Close are located on a hillside estate overlooking the Willamette River in Dunthorpe, Oregon, in the United States. Peter Kerr started the gardens in 1916 on a 13-acre (5.3 ha) estate that passed to the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon after his death in 1957. The private estate includes a manor house-inspired residence and other structures, and is open to visitors Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00pm.Magnolias and other native and non-native trees, shrubs, and plants grow in the gardens. Dunthorpe is an unincorporated community on the west side of the Willamette south of Portland and north of Lake Oswego along Oregon Route 43.

The Maurice Crumpacker House is the former residence of Maurice E. Crumpacker, a popular Oregon attorney and United States Congressman in the 1920s. The house was built by Portland architect Wade Hampton Pipes in 1923, and is located in the Dunthorpe neighborhood of Multnomah County, Oregon, just outside the Portland municipal boundary. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Whidden–Kerr House and Garden, also known as High Hatch Estate, is a historic property located in the unincorporated communities of Riverwood and Dunthorpe in Multnomah County, Oregon, south of Portland and north of Lake Oswego, Oregon. William M. Whidden of Whidden & Lewis designed the house in 1901, to be his own residence, and it was built the same year. Whidden and his family lived in the house until 1911, when he sold it to businessman Thomas Kerr, Sr. (1896–1925). It later passed to Kerr's son, Thomas Kerr, Jr., and ultimately remained with the Kerr family until 1987.The house is the "best expression" of Prairie School architecture by Whidden & Lewis, one of Portland's most prominent architectural firms of the period. A separate carriage house, now in use as a garage, is included as a contributing feature in the historic designation. The property includes a formal garden, which was "further developed by Kerr and his wife, the former Mabel Macleay", after Kerr acquired the estate in 1911. The site overlooks the Willamette River. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Elk Rock Island is an island on the Willamette River in the U.S. state of Oregon. The 12- to 13-acre (4.9- to 5.3-ha) island, formed 40 million years ago by a volcano, was given to Portland by Peter Kerr in 1940. The city of Milwaukie took ownership of the park in April 2016. The island is accessible via Spring Park.

Spring Park, or Spring Park Natural Area, is a public park in Milwaukie, Oregon, United States. The park opened in 2015 after two decades of planning and construction, and provides access to Elk Rock Island. The boundaries of the park have been disputed with neighbors.

The Elliott R. Corbett House is a historic home built in the Colonial Revival style in 1915, and located in the Dunthorpe neighborhood south of Portland, Oregon, United States. This house, along with its nearly-identical sister project (built a year later for Elliott Corbett's brother Henry), are the finest examples of the residential work of Whitehouse and Fouilhoux, one of Portland's leading architecture firms in the second decade of the 20th century. It also represents the early stages of the development of Dunthorpe as a country-style suburb for Portland's elite. Elliott R. Corbett was a scion of the prominent Corbett family, which made its fortune in banking and inland shipping.The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Berry Botanic Garden was a botanical garden in southwest Portland, Oregon, in the United States. In addition to large collections of alpine plants, rhododendrons, primulas, and lilies, it was known for its plant-conservation program and its large seed bank that protects rare or endangered plants of the Pacific Northwest. The seed bank, formally established in 1983, was thought to be the first in the U.S. that was devoted entirely to preserving rare native plants. The garden, created in the 1930s by Portland resident Rae Selling Berry, was bought after her death in 1976 by The Friends of Berry Botanic Garden, a nonprofit corporation. Managed by a board of directors, the Berry estate had an area of 6.5 acres (26,000 m2), and contained the largest public rock garden on the West Coast.In January 2010, The Berry Botanic Garden Board of Directors announced plans to sell the property and close the garden because of funding problems. The property was sold in February 2011, and in November 2011 the BBG conservation program and seed bank, now known as the Rae Selling Berry Seed Bank & Plant Conservation Program, completed the transfer to the Environmental Science and Management Program at Portland State University.

The Henry Ladd and Gretchen Hoyt Corbett House is a Colonial Revival-style house in Dunthorpe, Oregon, an unincorporated suburb of Portland. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property on which the house sits was part of an 1850 640-acre land claim by William S. and Mary Jane Torrance. A 19-acre portion of the property, located in Dunthorpe which was then known as Rivera, was acquired in 1904 by Henry Ladd Corbett, a prominent politician and businessman who twice served as President of the Oregon State Senate.The house was built in 1915 and 1916 by Corbett, who had married Gretchen Hoyt in 1908. It was a large two-story home with 7,000 square feet (650 m2) of interior space. In addition to the family living areas, there was a two-story servants' wing connected to the main house.Henry Corbett continued to reside in the house until his death in 1957, and Gretchen until her death in 1978. The property was divided into several lots, including a 1.6 acre lot around the house, which was listed on the NRHP in 1991. Houses have since been built on most of the other lots.
