Chalybeate Springs (sometimes simply Chalybeate) is an unincorporated community located in the Hector's Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. The community was first settled in 1760 and was named for the nearby springs containing iron salts, around which developed an early health resort (Powell 1968, p. 98). The community was formally laid out as a 100-acre (0.40 km2) town in 1902 along the Raleigh and Cape Fear Railway (Hairr 2002, p. 104), which is now part of the Norfolk Southern Railway. Chalybeate Springs was the childhood home of Elizabeth Holt, who became a famous public advocate and ultimately moved to the Raleigh-Durham area. The Holts were a prosperous farming family in the Chalybeate Springs area.

Christian Light is an unincorporated community located in the Hectors Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. According to the Section L35 of the Harnett County Heritage Book, "Christian Light comprises an area along Christian light Road, Kipling Road and Cokesbury Rd and bounded on the West by Hectors Creek and on the West by Avents Creek. The center of the community being the intersection of Christian Light Road and State Road 1403 (Kipling and Cokesbury Road)".The community consists of two gas stations, two churches, and a fire department (Northwest Harnett Fire Department)

Fuquay Mineral Spring is a historic mineral spring located at Fuquay-Varina, Wake County, North Carolina. The spring was discovered in the 1850s, and, from 1900 to 1930, thousands of people visited the spring to drink the mineral water reputed to cure kidney and intestinal ailments. The spring is covered by a gazebo and reached by a small footbridge.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Fuquay Springs Historic District is a national historic district located at Fuquay-Varina, Wake County, North Carolina. The districts encompasses 36 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in the town of Fuquay-Varina. The predominantly residential district developed between about 1899 and 1946, and includes notable examples of Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Ben-Wiley Hotel and Fuquay Mineral Spring. Other notable buildings include the Varina Mercantile Building (1899), Barham Hotel (c. 1908), Ballentine-Spence House (c. 1910, 1927), Barbour-Perkins House (c. 1928), Proctor House (1925), and Harold Johnson House (1938).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996, with a boundary increase in 2014.

Ben-Wiley Hotel is a historic hotel building located at Fuquay-Varina, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925, and is a Bungalow / American Craftsman style frame building consisting of two hip-roofed blocks; the two-story main block with a hip roofed front porch, and a two-story rear block. It is sheathed in weatherboard and has widely overhanging eaves. It was converted from 12 hotel rooms to 6 apartments in 1947.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Fuquay Springs Teacherage is a historic teacherage located at Fuquay-Varina, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1925, as a Bungalow / American Craftsman style residence. It was more than doubled in size in 1947, when the Wake County Board of Education purchased the property for use as a teacherage. It is a two-story, red brick building with a low hipped roof and wide eaves. It features a full width, hip roofed front porch on the original section.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Fuquay Springs High School, also known as Fuquay-Varina Middle School, is a historic high school located at Fuquay-Varina, Wake County, North Carolina. It was built about 1925, and is a two-story, rectangular, flat-roofed, red brick, Colonial Revival style building. It has a one-story rear auditorium wing. The school was connected by an open breezeway to a cafeteria building built about 1948. In the early 2000s the campus underwent a renovation and addition by the Wake County Public School System which consisted in converting the existing 1925 building into an administration hall along with a few classrooms. The 1948 construction was demolished along with a few other buildings. The renovation took place to address the issue of students having to go outside to switch classes, so the buildings on the north end of the campus with the exception of the gym was demolished. The new construction ties the rest of the buildings from the north end of the campus to the south end opening in 2003.The 1925 building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Hectors Creek Township is one of thirteen townships in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 3,629 according to the 2000 census. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Geographically, Hectors Creek Township occupies 36.23 square miles (93.8 km2) in northern Harnett County. There are no incorporated municipalities located in Hectors Creek Township, however, there are several unincorporated communities located there, including the communities of Chalybeate Springs, Kipling and Rawls. The township's northern border is with Wake County. Hector Creek rises and joins the Cape Fear River within this township.

Holland is an unincorporated community in Wake County, North Carolina, United States, east of Five Points. It lies at an elevation of 410 feet (120 m). Neills Creek, a tributary to the Cape Fear River, rises in a pond in Holland.

Middle Creek Township (also designated Township 12) is one of twenty townships within Wake County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census, Middle Creek Township had a population of 44,136, a 75.5% increase over 2000. Middle Creek Township, occupying 60.8 square miles (157.5 km2) in southern Wake County, includes most of the town of Fuquay-Varina and portions of the town of Holly Springs.
