Hilda Anne Carline (1889–1950) was a British painter, daughter of the artist George Francis Carline, and first wife of the artist Stanley Spencer. She studied art under the Post-Impressionist Percyval Tudor-Hart, with her brothers Sydney and Richard, and then at the Slade School of Art under Henry Tonks. She had a promising early start with her works being shown at the London Group, Royal Academy and New English Art Club. In 1925 she married fellow artist Stanley Spencer with whom she had what has been described as "the most bizarre domestic soap opera in the history of British art." During the time that Carline lived with Spencer she rarely painted and it was not until they separated that she began painting more frequently. Carline's physical and mental health was poor starting several years after her divorce and after 1937 she lived with family members. Spencer became obsessed with his ex-wife with whom he corresponded and painted. In her later years she made religious works with pastels. She died in 1950, having struggled for several years with breast cancer. A touring exhibition of her works, The Art of Hilda Carline: Mrs. Stanley Spencer, was held in 1999.

The Mount is a country house in Cookham Dean, Berkshire, England. It was originally built as a hunting lodge in the 16th century and subsequently extended in the late 19th century so that it now has three floors, four reception rooms, twelve bedrooms and four bathrooms. It is on a plot of 3.5 acres (1.4 ha) on high ground overlooking the Thames river. It was listed for protection as Grade II on 21 September 1987. The author Kenneth Grahame lived here as a child after his mother died when he was five. The house belonged to his maternal grandmother, Mary Inglis, and he lived there for two years with her and his uncle, David, who was the curate of the parish church. The locality was influential in the creation of his writing such as The Wind in the Willows. Other famous people associated with the house include Sir Stanley Spencer, who painted a picture of it.

Cookham railway station serves the village of Cookham, Berkshire, England. Great Western Railway trains between Maidenhead and Marlow serve the station on the Marlow branch line, but through services to and from London Paddington in peak hours Monday to Friday no longer run. It is 2 miles 73 chains (4.7 km) down the line from Maidenhead and 27 miles 12 chains (43.7 km) measured from Paddington. Cookham station was opened by the Wycombe Railway in 1854. The station now has a single platform, but the remains of a second platform are still visible. The former Station House is now let to private occupants.

Cannoncourt Farm Pit is a 0.3-hectare (0.74-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Maidenhead in Berkshire. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.In the early twentieth century, these gravel pits yielded many Paleolithic tools of the Acheulian and Levallois industries, associated with the Neanderthals, including the largest hand axe ever found. The site is in the Lynch Hill Terrace of the River Thames, dating to the Wolstonian Stage between 350-200,000 years ago.The pits have long ago been filled in and are now under a path and open ground in northern Maidenhead.

Furze Platt Senior School is a mixed comprehensive secondary school with academy status in Maidenhead. The school draws pupils from across Maidenhead, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The school's latest OFSTED report (November 2021) rated Furze Platt Senior School as GOOD.

Gibraltar Islands are a pair of islands in the River Thames in England above Bourne End Railway Bridge on the reach above Cookham Lock, near Cookham Dean, Berkshire. There is a footbridge to one of the islands which is closely connected to the other. Previously the islands were more numerous little aits on which osiers were grown. There are some houses on the islands. The islands are opposite Quarry Wood on the Berkshire bank which is considered to be the basis for the Wild Woods in The Wind in the Willows. The woods are also referenced by Jerome K. Jerome.

Cock Marsh is an area of marsh land and steep chalk slope covering more than 150-acre (61-hectare) north of Maidenhead in Berkshire. It includes a 45-acre (18-hectare) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is also the location of a Round barrow cemetery and common land where livestock have grazed for hundreds of years. Cock Marsh is owned and managed by the National Trust.

Marlow Rugby Union Football Club is an English Rugby Union club. That was formed in 1947. Marlow Rugby Club play at Riverwoods Drive, which is located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. It currently has 4 senior sides, ladies, Colts, full Youth (most age groups run 2 sides) and Mini Section. Marlow IS to be the birthplace of Mini Rugby in English, and runs one of the oldest Mini Tournaments, now in its 44th year.
