Milton, Staffordshire

Ford Green Brook flows through Staffordshire and the outlying areas of Stoke-on-Trent, England. It is the first named tributary stream of the River Trent, and is 6.2 miles (10 km) long.

Milton railway station is a disused railway station in Staffordshire, England. The Stoke–Leek line was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) in 1867. Milton and Endon were the original stations on the line that opened at the same time as the line. Situated on the single track section of the line between Milton Junction (where the line diverged from the Biddulph Valley line) and Endon, the station had only a single platform. Passenger services over the line were withdrawn in 1956 and the station closed. The line through the station continued in use until 1988 for freight services and since 1988 the line has officially been out of use but not closed.

Hulton Abbey is a scheduled monument in the United Kingdom, a former monastery located in what is now Abbey Hulton, a suburb of Stoke-on-Trent. A daughter house of the Cistercian Combermere Abbey, the abbey was founded by Henry de Audley in the early 13th century. Throughout its life, the abbey was relatively small and poor, with one of the lowest incomes of all Staffordshire religious houses. The abbey was dissolved by Henry VIII in 1538, with its land and assets being sold. Little remains of the abbey today, but continued excavations have revealed the foundations of a number of the principal claustral buildings, as well as human burials. In 1963, Hulton Abbey was designated a scheduled monument, under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979, however due to its poor condition it is considered Heritage at Risk. The site is now owned and managed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

Abbey Green was an electoral ward of Stoke-on-Trent. The ward covered the areas of Baddeley Green, Milton and Abbey Hulton as well as Baddeley Edge and Light Oaks. It ceased to exist as a result of the 2011 reorganisation of electoral wards in Stoke-on-Trent.The area is bound by the A5009 Leek Road and the East Valley and Northwood & Birches Head wards in the north and west, The city boundary to the east, and The Berryhill & Hanley East and Bentilee & Townsend wards to the south. Divided by the Carmountside cemetery site the ward comprises the two distinct areas of Abbey Hulton, typified by large areas of council-owned semi-detached housing; and Baddeley Green, typified by large areas of privately owned semi-detached housing.

Abbey Hulton United Football Club is a football club based in Abbey Hulton, in Stoke-on-Trent, England. They are currently members of the North West Counties League Division One South and play at Birches Head Road.

Baddeley Green is an area of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Baddeley Green is part of the Abbey Green ward, which covers the areas of Baddeley Green, Milton and Abbey Hulton as well as Baddeley Edge and Light Oaks.

Norton Green is a small hamlet in Stoke-on-Trent. Located in the hamlet are two Primitive Methodist Chapels which were built in 1857 and 1871.

Baddeley Edge is a hamlet in the north of the city of Stoke-on-Trent, in the north of the county of Staffordshire.

Excel Academy (formerly Holden Lane High School) is a mixed secondary school located in Sneyd Green, Stoke on Trent, England. It was established in 1963 and educates pupils of ages 11–16. Situated in the north of Stoke-on-Trent, the school has a catchment from the neighbourhoods of Sneyd Green, Milton, Baddeley Green, Norton-in-the-Moors, and Ball Green. The socio-economic circumstances of the area the school serves are below average. The vast majority of students are White British. The academy is the school of choice for an increasing number of parents/carers and is over subscribed.

Abbey Hill Academy and College (formerly Abbey Hill School)' is a special school located in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.The school was previously awarded specialist status as a SEN and Arts College. Formerly a foundation school administered by Stoke-on-Trent City Council, in November 2023 Abbey Hill School converted to academy status and was renamed Abbey Hill Academy and College. The school is now sponsored by the St Bart's Multi Academy Trust.The school comprises an upper school, a lower school and a special autistic school for challenged children. Upper school students must take on community service as part of their education. Age ranges from preschool to eighteen years for the students. Since autistic children require a very structured environment, the school has set aside half of the schools for smaller, individual classes. Age ranges from preschool to sixteen years for the students.
