The Gateway is a 37-storey, 150 m (490 ft), skyscraper complex completed in April 1990 on Beach Road in the Downtown Core of Singapore. The two buildings are named The Gateway East and The Gateway West. The embassy of Mexico is located on the 3rd floor of The Gateway East. The Singapore office of Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management and development consultancy, is located on the 35th floor of The Gateway East.

Parkview Square is an office building located in the Downtown Core Planning Area, Central Region, Singapore. It is situated along North Bridge Road, and is near the major commercial hub at Marina Centre. It is next to Bugis MRT station, Bugis Junction, and The Gateway, and straddles the Rochor Road and Ophir Road corridor. Parkview Square is one of the most expensive office buildings in Singapore.Parkview Square houses the Honorary Consulate of Oman on the 4th floor, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates on the 9th floor, as well as the embassies of Austria and Mongolia on the 24th floor. The third floor is entirely occupied by the Parkview Museum where international contemporary art exhibitions are presented every year.

The DHL Balloon, in Singapore, was the world's second largest tethered helium balloon. It was inflated in 2006, and closed and dismantled in October 2008.

Lavender is a subzone within the planning area of Kallang, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Lavender is composed of an area bounded by Tessensohn Road in the north; Balestier Road, Lavender Street and Crawford Street in the east; the Rochor River and Rochor Canal in the south; as well as Syed Alwi Road, Serangoon Road and Rangoon Road in the west.Lavender is largely commercial, even though several blocks of public housing provided by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) exist at Jellicoe Road and French Road. Notable places in this subzone include Jalan Besar Stadium, Jalan Besar Swimming Complex, Jalan Besar Community Club, the series of historic shophouses along Jalan Besar, the headquarters of People's Association, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Building, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Mustafa Centre, Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre and City Square Mall. In addition, the New World Amusement Park once stood in this area. The district has not changed a lot in a city known for its frenetic urban planning, and as a source puts it, "entering Lavender is like entering Singapore in the late 1980s", where old public housing is occupied by an elderly community, with small automotive shops, hardware resellers and temples. A trend of gentrification began in around 2014, mainly along Jalan Besar. Parts of the Little India ethnic neighbourhood extends into this area. There are now many small coffee shops and music studios in this rather vintage-looking district. Lavender MRT station and Farrer Park MRT station serve Lavender subzone.

Bugis MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the East West line and Downtown line in Bugis, Singapore. Located under the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street, the station is close to Bugis Junction, Raffles Hospital and the National Library. Built as part of the initial MRT system, the station opened in November 1989 as part of the MRT network's eastern line, while the station's Downtown line platforms were opened in December 2013.

Raffles Hospital (abbreviation: RH)(Chinese: 莱佛士医院 : Lái fú shì yīyuàn) is a tertiary care private hospital of the Raffles Medical Group, a private healthcare provider in Singapore.

Shaw Tower, also sometimes referred to as Shaw Towers, is a defunct high-rise commercial building located on Beach Road in Singapore. At the time of its completion in 1975, the tower housed the largest cinema in Singapore.The building was part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s plans in the 1960s to create a “Golden Mile” stretch of mixed-use buildings that merged living, work, and play.

Arab Street (Chinese: 阿拉伯街; Malay: Jalan Arab) was the name of a road and neighbourhood in Singapore. There are two explanations behind the name. The first one is that the area was owned by an Arab merchant, Syed Ali bin Mohamed Al Junied and that it was the site of an Arab kampong, hence the name Arab Street. The Chinese referred the street as jiau a koi Javanese, in the view of the Javanese who used to be the majority inhabitants of the area. Spices, textiles, basketry items and songkoks are sold along this row of shophouses with five-foot way at Arab Street. In Tamil, Arab Street is known as pukadai sadkku (flower shops street), because of shops selling homegrown flowers, lime and other goods sold by Javanese women. In 1889, a huge fire occurred. It is also tied to the preexisting situation at the time of the nation's founding by Sir Stamford Raffles. When Raffles was planning the outline of areas to be allocated for the government, as opposed to commercial and residential use, a community of Bugis seamen and merchants were already near the Sultan's palace. He therefore allocated the area to them, near where their boats were sheltered in the river, bringing their annual cargo to a barter basis. That is how the name Bugis Street came about. The Arabs and other Muslim traders (Chulias) were also allocated to areas near Kampong Glam.

Sultan Mosque or Masjid Sultan is a mosque located at Muscat Street and North Bridge Road within the Kampong Glam precinct of the district of Rochor in Singapore. It was named after Sultan Hussain Shah. In 1975, it was designated a national monument.

Gedung Kuning (Jawi: ڬيدوڠ كونيڠ ; English for "Yellow Mansion") is a Malay historical residence in Singapore. Located at 73 Sultan Gate, Gedung Kuning stands just outside the Malay Heritage Centre, near Masjid Sultan in the historic district of Kampong Glam in Singapore. However, from 1919 to 1925, the Gedung Kuning's address was 33 Sultan Gate. Once forming an annexe to the adjacent palace of Singapore's Malay rulers, Istana Kampong Glam, it became the private residence of Haji Yusoff, a prominent Malayo-Javanese merchant and four generations of his family. Together with the Istana, the compound was refurbished as part of the development of the Malay Heritage Centre in 2004.

The Malay Heritage Centre (Malay: Taman Warisan Melayu; Jawi: تامن واريثن ملايو) is a cultural centre and museum located at Sultan Gate off Beach Road in Kampong Glam, Singapore. It showcases the culture, heritage and history of Malay Singaporeans.
