Cefnpennar

Cwmpennar (or Cwm Pennar) is a small village in Mountain Ash which is situated in the Cynon Valley, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Wales. Cwmpennar lies opposite a former coal mining pit. Cwmpennar is part of the Cefnpennar District Welfare Association (CDWA). On 2 May 1867 an explosion took place at Cwmpennar Pit.

It is a mixed-sex school with approximately 950 pupils, including about 90 in the sixth form. The school was formerly known as Mountain Ash Grammar School (Welsh: Ysgol Ramadeg Aberpennar) and is located near the former Dyffryn Colliery.

Glenboi is a village located one mile north of the town of Mountain Ash in the county borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is linked to Mountain Ash via the B4275. The English translation of Glenboi is Wood Valley, "Glen" meaning a "small valley" and "boi" meaning "wood". Glenboi Primary School was one of thirteen schools in Wales that began experimenting with a longer school day in February 2022 in order to compensate for learning deficits caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abercwmboi Halt railway station served the village of Abercwmboi in historic Glamorganshire, Wales. Opened as Duffryn Crossing Platform by the Taff Vale Railway, it became part of the Great Western Railway during the Grouping of 1923. However the more authoritative style guide by the Welsh Government on their international gateway website, Wales.com, states that it should always be capitalised. It is always capitalised on motorway signs.
