Holy Name Preparatory School is a private primary school located in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Originally associated with Holy Name Convent secondary school and Sacred Heart Boys, the school became an independent entity in 1965. It currently has around 600 students enrolled.

Memorial Park is an urban park in upper Downtown, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Memorial Park is a public city park in commemoration of the Trinidadian veterans that served in World War I and World War II. It is one of the most visited urban parks in the city.

The National Museum and Art Gallery is the national museum of Trinidad and Tobago, in Port of Spain on Trinidad island. It is located at the top of Frederick Street, opposite the Memorial Park, and just south of the Queen's Park Savannah. The museum was established in 1892, as the Royal Victoria Institute. The building is an example of Victorian era colonial style of the British West Indies.

Bishop Anstey High School (BAHS), also known as Bishop Anstey or St. Hilary's, is a government-assisted all-girls secondary school in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It was founded by the Anglican Bishop Arthur Henry Anstey and opened on January 13, 1921. The school is governed by a Board of Management appointed and chaired by the Bishop of Trinidad and Tobago. Its assets are controlled and managed by The Bishop Anstey Association.

St. Mary's College (CIC, which stands for College of the Immaculate Conception) is a government-assisted selective Catholic secondary school located in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

St. Joseph's Convent, Port of Spain is a government-assisted all-girls Roman Catholic secondary school in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It was founded in 1836 by Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, and is the oldest continuous secondary school in Trinidad and Tobago. It celebrated its 180th anniversary in 2016. The school is one of the best performing schools in the Caribbean in both the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) examinations. The school is governed by a Board of Management appointed and chaired by the Archbishop of Port of Spain.

The National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) is a cultural and performing arts complex located in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Established in 2009, NAPA serves as a hub for the development and promotion of the performing arts in the country, providing facilities for education, rehearsals, and performances. NAPA’s contribution to the cultural landscape of Trinidad and Tobago has been recognized with multiple awards. It has garnered praise not only for its architectural design but also for its impact on the local arts scene.

The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) is a public, multi-campus college in Trinidad and Tobago, established in 2000.

The House of Representatives is the elected lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, along with the President and Senate of Trinidad and Tobago. The House of Representatives sits at the Red House. It has 41 members, each elected to represent single-seat constituencies. The Parliament is elected with a five-year term, but may be dissolved earlier by the President if so advised by the Prime Minister. After an election, the person commanding the support of the most members of the House is appointed Prime Minister and asked to form a government. Five constituencies were added in the 2007 election; there were only 36 constituencies prior to 2007. There are now 41 constituencies. The Presiding Officer of the House of Representatives is the Speaker of the House, who can either be one of the elected 41 members, or come from outside. This has implications for the calculation of special majority votes (42 members instead of 41). As of 20 April 2021, there are only 12 female members (28.6%), and three members born in Tobago (7.3%).

Queen's Park Savannah (QPS) is a park in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Known locally as simply "the Savannah", it is Port of Spain's largest open space. It occupies about 260 acres (110 ha) of level land, and the distance around the perimeter is about 2.2 mi (3.5 km).

The Embassy of the United States in Port of Spain is the diplomatic mission of the United States of America in Trinidad and Tobago. Since the inception of diplomatic ties in 1962, Trinidad and Tobago has become one of the most industrialized nations in the English-speaking Caribbean. Port of Spain, officially the City of Port of Spain (also stylized Port-of-Spain), is the capital of Trinidad and Tobago and the third largest municipality, after Chaguanas and San Fernando. The city has a municipal population of 49,031 (2022 census), an urban population of 545,045 (2023 estimate) and a transient daily population of 250,000. It is located on the Gulf of Paria, on the northwest coast of the island of Trinidad and is part of a larger conurbation stretching from Chaguaramas in the west to Arima in the east with an estimated population of 600,000.The city serves primarily as a retail and administrative centre and it has been the capital of the island since 1757. It is also an important financial services centre for the Caribbean and is home to two of the largest banks in the region. The Piarco International Airport is the main airport on the island, connecting the capital to various major global destinations. Port of Spain was also the de facto capital of the short-lived West Indies Federation, which united the Caribbean. The city is also home to the largest container port on the island and is one of several shipping hubs of the Caribbean, exporting both agricultural products and manufactured goods. Bauxite from Guyana is trans-shipped via facilities at Chaguaramas, about 8 kilometres (5 mi) west of the city. The pre-lenten Carnival is the city's main annual cultural festival and tourist attraction. Today, Port of Spain is a leading city in the Caribbean region. Trinidad and Tobago hosted the Fifth Summit of the Americas in 2009, whose guests included US President Barack Obama and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.Port of Spain is also home to the biggest and most successful stock exchange in the Caribbean, the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange (TTSE). The Nicholas Tower, as well as other skyscrapers, are well known throughout the region. These buildings dominate the city's skyline. Some of the tallest skyscrapers in the Caribbean are located in Port of Spain.
