Hughes Manor, also known as White House Manor, located near Middletown, Ohio, was built in 1889. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.It was listed on the NRHP for its architecture. It includes Greek Revival, Stick/Eastlake, and Queen Anne architecture.The 10.5-acre (4.2 ha) listed area included 5 contributing buildings and one contributing structure. Historic functions served by its buildings include serving as a single dwelling, as a secondary structure, and as agricultural outbuildings.

A significant, early example of Ohio industry, the mill was owned by the Harding and Jones families for most of its operation. The mill, adjacent to the first lock completed on the Miami-Erie Canal, also includes two residences, a carriage house, and a canal lock.

Shaker Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Ohio. The 8.7-mile (14.0 km) long stream empties into Dicks Creek.Shaker Creek was so named after the Shakers who settled near it. The area around Shaker Creek once formed a wetland called Shaker Swamp; the latter was drained and the land reclaimed.

Millers Creek is a stream in the U.S. state of Ohio. The 5-mile (8.0 km) long stream is a tributary to Shaker Creek.Millers Creek has the name of the local Miller family.

LeSourdsville Lake Amusement Park was an amusement park located in Monroe, Ohio. Founded by Edgar Streifthau, the park originally opened in 1922 as a family picnic destination with swimming amenities. Throughout the 1940s, LeSourdsville Lake transformed into an amusement park with the addition of rides, attractions, and an arcade. The park was sold in 1961, and following heavy competition from nearby Kings Island, it was rebranded Americana Amusement Park in 1978. An electrical fire in 1990 caused over $5 million in damages and led to bankruptcy. The park continued to operate under several different owners before eventually closing in 1999. Americana briefly reopened in 2002 under the original name LeSourdsville Lake, but the effort by new owner Jerry Couch was short-lived as the park failed to turn a profit. Remaining rides and attractions were either sold or later demolished. In 2017, the city of Monroe received a portion of the land to build a city park and regional bicycle trail, and another portion was sold to a local vocational school seeking to build a new campus location.

It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area, located 29 miles (47 km) northeast of Cincinnati and 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Dayton.Formerly in Lemon, Turtlecreek, and Franklin townships, Middletown was incorporated by the Ohio General Assembly on February 11, 1833, and became a city in 1886. The city was the home of AK Steel Holding Corporation (formerly Armco), a major steel works founded in 1900. Although offices were moved to nearby West Chester Township in 2007, the AK Steel factory is still in Middletown. Middletown is also home to Hook Field Municipal Airport (airport code MWO), which was formerly served by commercial airlines but is currently only for general aviation. A regional campus of Miami University is located in Middletown. In 1957, Middletown was designated as an All-America City.

Life Skills offers an online curriculum designed to help students earn a high school diploma. The school is designed to allow students to be employed full-time or do volunteer work while in high school.
